Hi! I'm Eerie [linktr.ee] and welcome to another one of my guides. I will describe through bullet points all the steps taken each day of the first Shenmue game in order to get all achievements. My preferred type of guides are through objective bullet points instead of videos or long texts, so I hope you like this text format. I've followed the same route that YouTuber Aussie Gamer 17 took for this run, but with a tweaked route to save some time. The main difference is that I'm presenting it in text instead of video form, as I personally prefer text guides over video guides. This guide achieves all 28 Shenmue achievements within 19 in-game days, until Dec. 21, 1986 (Sun.); Save often and use all your save slots! This ensures that if you make a mistake you can always reload a specific one. This game isn't much RNG, but can be slightly unpredictable with specific dialogues, encounters, etc. You should be just fine if you thoroughly follow this guide; When I mention "talk to someone" in the guide, I mean you should talk with the character until all dialogue options are exhausted — even if I don't explicitly state it. This ensures you might receive new notes for your notebook; I'm following the route that YouTuber Aussie Gamer 17 took for this run, but with a slightly tweaked route to save some time. The main difference is that I'm presenting it in bullet points instead of video form, as I personally prefer text guides over video guides; I may instruct you to go to certain locations without specifying their exact whereabouts, assuming you're familiar with the game's layout. If not, refer to the maps section at the end of this guide to familiarize yourself; This route may not be the most optimal or efficient, but it successfully allows you to collect all trophies; Press P to pause the game (and the in-game clock) while using this guide. I recommend pausing rather than reading with the game running, as you might miss out on closed shops or time-specific events; Each time you earn an achievement, I'll update the percentage progression towards completing all 28 achievements in the first Shenmue in this guide; When I write " chime sound" , I'm referring to the in-game sound that signals your notebook has been updated; Until we get to the Harbor for the first time, we will be obtaining toy capsules from capsule machines everyday. I'll direct you to use specific colored capsule machines at various locations (Abe Store, Dobuita, Harbor Lounge). While it's recommended to follow the color suggestions - for example, "use the yellow-colored capsule machine" - you can choose a different color if you prefer. The main goal is to secure unique toy capsules each time by saving whenever you acquire a new one to maximize your ¥. However, this is optional. If you find you're only getting duplicate capsules while trying to collect unique ones, consider switching to a different capsule machine. By following this guide and starting to collect toy capsules early, you should achieve the last toy capsule achievement by the time you reach the Harbor Lounge. If you want to track your collection, I've developed a small website where you can do it: Shenmue Collection Tracker [eeriegoesd.github.io] ; Each toy capsule machine offers both general toy capsules and specific sets (like Street Fighter, Sonic, etc.). To track your current collection and see which new capsules are available to you from each machine, feel free to refer to the website I've created above; Manage your Yen (¥) at least until you get 50 Toy Capsules. After that, money won't be a problem anymore. If you follow this guide, you won't have issues, as I will be pinpointing exact ¥ values at each action until we get the 50 Toy Capsules achievement; You can somewhat "fast-travel" by enabling the Area Jump option in the Controls Options (Steam version only). It allows you to get to Yamanose , Sakuragaoka or Dobuita directly when exiting your residence - Warning: You may miss important cutscenes and/or dialogues by doing so . I suggest disabling this option; Feel free to leave any feedback - I’m always open to hear your thoughts and improve my guides. Have fun! Please read the tips above before starting the guide!
