NONE of the mine upgrades are worth it. Except the new pickaxes, the autoclicker, the lamp, and the elevator. At level 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 you will hit tougher ores that your old pickaxe can't break. Some of them have gold ore that you can trade in for money. Some of them have the stairs leading down underneath them. So you'll have to buy a new pickaxe every 10 levels in order to continue deeper into the mine. The autoclicker makes mining feel easier, and saves your finger from unnecessary bruising. The elevator is necessary, it lets you save your progress every 10 floors down the mine. And the lamp is necessary because it will be super dark in the mine without it. But NONE of the other upgrades are worth the price. Let me tell you why... You can enter the mine at any time, right from the start of the game. You're "supposed to" go all the way down to floor 100 in here before you even start visiting the shops & houses in the village. There is an artifact down at the bottom level, which increases the amount of gold you gain from ALL sources by a percentage. But you can do it at any time. Your progress and upgrades for the mine will also stay with you across all your resurrections, too. You don't have to do it right away, you can do it in sections and come back later to finish it. Your progress in the mine will be saved after every 10th level, as long as you buy the ELEVATOR upgrade. The mine is located to the right of the pot shop, past the house. Look for the "cave" in the side of the hill. When you enter the mine there are two things in the entrance that you can interact with. The first is the miner who sells upgrades. The second is the stairs leading down into the mine. When you first come here, it will send you to the first floor automatically and you'll need to progress from there on your own. But if you buy the ELEVATOR upgrade from the miner, then the elevator can stop at every 10th floor of the mine, after your first time reaching that floor on foot. You can select which floor you want when you click the stairs leading down. However, once you're down in the mine, you can't use the elevator again until you come back up to the surface. For instance, if you ride the elevator down from the entrance to the 20th floor, but you already unlocked as far as the 40th floor, you can't ride it from floor 20 to floor 40. You will have to come back up and then go back down to the floor you want. Once you're down in the mine, you can always instantly come back to the surface by using the staircase that leads UP. While you're in the mine, you have ONE JOB: mine gold ore with your pickaxe. Some ore chunks have no gold in them. The ones with gold have big yellow gold nuggets visible on the top of each one. So focus on the ones that have gold on them; you get NOTHING from the other ones. However, the stairs leading down are under one of the ore chunks, and it isn't always going to be one with gold in it. It is RANDOM and will change (as will the placement of all the ores) each time you enter this floor of the mine. At first, you have to click on the ore chunks to damage them, and after they take enough hits they break apart. If there was gold in it, you get the gold ore. Later you can buy an upgrade to auto-click the ore chunks just by waving your mouse over them. There is NO WAY AT ALL to make it take fewer hits to break an ore chunk. Tougher ore chunks will have more "health" and so they take more hits to break. BUT each pickaxe does the same amount of damage... all the new ones do is allow you to break the new type of ore chunk, buying a new pickaxe will NOT upgrade your damage. And the clicking damage upgrades you get from the INN or from the resurrection skills also WILL NOT affect your mining damage. There is an upgrade in the mine that says it "upgrades your mining power" but it doesn't increase your pickaxe damage either. Once you have a bunch of gold ore, bring it back to the miner near the entrance. He can trade it for mining upgrades or for gold coins. Pro tip: the "discount" potion at the wizard's tower reduces the cost of ALL shops by 15%, including this one. So instead of trading 100 ore for 100 coins, you can trade 85 ore for 100 coins while that potion is active. It also lowers the price of all the other upgrades you can buy for ore. The "money" potion also works here, and its percentage is better, 25% instead of 15% so instead of trading 100 ore for 100 coins, you can trade 100 ore for 125 coins. Nice. But it only affects the coins you earn, it won't increase the efficiency or decrease the prices of the other upgrades here. None of the potions affect your damage to ore chunks or the gold ore you receive from them. There is one upgrade that says "increases mining power" but it doesn't actually do that. Your pickaxe damage remains the same. This upgrade seems to be broken/bugged, it doesn't appear to do anything at all. so don't waste your ores on this one. There is another upgrade that attacks a second ore chunk at random each time you swing your pickaxe. This sounds nice... but in practice it sucks. It doesn't do enough damage to break any of the ore chunks on its own, and it targets RANDOM ore chunks. Half the time it targets the ones that are too tough for your current pickaxe to break, so it does NO DAMAGE when that happens. This is a skill that sounds good on paper but in practice it is trash. If you upgrade those other skills enough, you'll unlock a bomb. But it sucks, too. Only one bomb can ever appear on any floor. And it is visible as soon as you enter the floor. When it explodes, it does max damage and breaks all the ore chunks around it, even if they are too strong for your current pickaxe. However, its short range - the ore chunks must be TOUCHING the bomb to be in the blast radius - makes it suck. Usually when there is a bomb it is only next to two or three ore chunks, so it saves you maybe 1 or 2 seconds of mining per floor and that's all it does. It looks cool, and it works as intended, but due to the small blast radius it is just NOT WORTH THE PRICE. So don't buy this one. Selling ores for coins... this sounds useful, and if you do the mine FIRST before you even start exploring the village, then it can be a bit useful since it will give you a handful of coins if you trade in your ore to the miner. But really you only find a few ores per floor, and the exchange rate of ore to gold is 1 to 1. So you won't make much money in this place unless you want to spend four lifetimes in here... and on the second floor you'll find a dead body who left a note for whoever comes down here next that says "working here is not worth it." That note is the absolute truth of this mine. ... But the relic at the bottom on the 100th floor is pretty nice . New pickaxes. Every 10th floor you'll find a new type of ore chunk that is too strong for your current pickaxe, so you'll need to upgrade in order to continue. This is a NECESSITY. Elevator. Every 10th floor you reach, it will save that location so you can leave the mine and then next time you can return directly to that floor without needing to walk through all the previous floors again. However, there is some value to backtracking SOMETIMES, if you need to grind a bit more ore to afford the next new pickaxe. You should only need to do it a few times though. Lamp. At a certain point, the mine will turn pitch dark. You won't be able to see. You need to buy the lamp to see what you're doing. And the lamp has several levels of upgrades, each one increases the radius of the light so you can see more. Autoclicker. Save your finger. Save your mouse button. Nothing in the mine will affect the village... except: If you sell your ore for coins, you can bring those coins back to town and spend them there. At the bottom of the 100th floor is a relic that adds a percentage to all the gold you earn, steal, o
