Super Secret achievement - How to find *all* of the RYE Rooms

Hello and thank you for checking out my guide! If you’ve been playing a lot of Connie and the Essence of Chaos , you may have noticed this ‘Challenges’ menu, featuring many achievements you may unlock… Challenge #27 probably piqued your curiosity: ‘ Find a SUPER secret room ’… You probably wondered, ‘what the heck is a super secret room...?’ Well, there are six locations that are counted as such: the RYE rooms, with one per main world! Note: this guide contains minor spoilers regarding the game’s worlds, and a few skins and Essence abilities you can unlock. RYE 101 What even is a RYE room? It’s named as such due to containing repeated textures in the shape of the first three characters from the developer’s name – Ryemanni. They’re all quite cryptic to find and will reward you with four super heart power-ups, as well as awarding you the Super Secret Challenge the first time you enter any of them. They’re Connie ’s equivalent to the ‘Fight the Virus’ secret spots from Rayman Redemption , down to the tied achievement and health power-ups. Here’s a video guide I made to find all of them! But if you’re allergic to that format, let’s get on with the actual text guide! If you don’t care about finding all of them and you want the achievement as quickly as possible, just check out number #2 , as the one in Take-out Street is by far the fastest to reach if you already unlocked enough levels. The first RYE room is located in the third part of Carrot Quarry in Gentle Gardens, where the big carrot monster chases you around. You can find it right after the second chase, as it is located inside the left wall in the checkpoint room, with its entrance being near the top. It is hidden by a fake wall, but you can’t open yet it due to a unique box blocking it… The crate can only be broken by one of the carrot missiles in the same area, with the horizontal one you need being found just before the third chase. Once the horizontal carrot is shot in your direction, head back to the chasm with the checkpoint (if you’re fast enough, you should even see some wood particles falling from the wall). You should now be able to jump into the wall from the highest platform once it moves to the left, thus revealing the first RYE room and awarding you the Super Secret achievement! The City of Burgersburg’s RYE room is located in Take-out Street , in the very first part right after the first checkpoint . You’ll see a chasm full of forks. The secret is hidden below them , but you can’t just phase into these sharp utensils as they have ‘instakill’ collisions, making you lose one health point and respawning you at the pit’s edge… However, a specific fork doesn’t have any collisions: the eighth one ! (Eight, like the number of characters in Ryemanni’s name…) With the help of the Bitter Essence, make a precise jump into it , and you should safely get into the RYE room! The Confection Cove room is in the Ruins of Chocolandia’s first part , near the very end after the final checkpoint. It is, however, amongst the most cryptic ones and may take several attempts… To make it easier, try to have as much health as possible (there’s a super heart power-up above the checkpoint), or even use Assist mode from the game’s settings. After the Bitter Essence swinging parts and the first sequence of purple springs, you’ll eventually get to a second series… but do not jump into any of those springs! Instead, you’ll have to walk and jump through the spikes to make your way down to the chocolate bars at the bottom of the stage , while avoiding *ALL* of the purple springs . The first jump is the trickiest due to the three instakill tiles below the first rotating spring , which will cause you to restart the whole parkour if you touch any of them… I recommend making your way to the bottom from the left , as some of the spiky walls on the right are also covered in instakill collisions and it is otherwise too difficult to sneak through the springs. If you fail, use the self-destruct button or let any threat take you down to restart from the checkpoint. Once successful, the RYE room can be entered from the fake wall in the bottom left of the pit! The Mount Deep Freeze secret is located in the second part of Scoop Scaffoldings , at the very middle where you must usually get items behind boxes on two sides using the purple deflecting pads. That one is quite straightforward: simply jump into the middle pit to reach a small platform at the bottom of the map , aiming a bit to the right so you don’t fall into the void. Then, all you have to do is to punch the purple bottle and to jump into the springs , which will bounce you to the RYE easter egg at the top of the level! The Gamblepark Casino room is located in the second part of Betting Bonanza , at the beginning just after the first slope . It is hidden inside the eastern wall where the second parkour of bouncing pool balls starts . However, it is too high, so you need some platforms to jump into the fake wall… Get through the bouncing obstacles to get to the section above, and use the (red) Savory Essence to get to the (blue) Salty power-up. Use the fists of the Salty Essence to push around the blue block on the path a bit further, and jump from it to break the reinforced crates on the cards above . The goal is to free the path for the top cannon, so its projectile can break the purple box in the alcove inside the eastern wall. Once the crate is successfully broken, backtrack to the entrance of the second slope , where more platforms should now be standing to let you into the VIP RYE room! The final RYE room is located in the main last world: Lucilate’s Domain, within the very first part of Lucilate’s Empire … and it can be a very tough one to figure out! After the parkour of the (green) Bitter Essence, take the (yellow) Sour Essence… Stand at the western edge overlooking the pit of spikes (while carefully avoiding the Salty Essence there), and jump + throw your remote-controlled fist to pick the Sour Essence again from a distance so you can have extra time for the next part of the process . Once you’re ready, throw and guide your fist to the beginning of the level while avoiding all of the spikes (as they’ll cancel out the ability), except direct it to below the eastern wall … The fist will have to navigate through a one-tile high tunnel, until you can break a purple box at the end . It may take one or two attempts to break it depending on how fast you do the entire process. Once it’s done, you’ll have to return Connie to the beginning too… But how? The chasm of spikes from where you came from is full of instakill spikes that will prevent you from backtracking… So, you can either try it the hard way by grabbing the (green) Bitter Essence from a distance and trying to do the parkour backwards… Or you can do a small trick involving the (yellow) Sour Essence… Now, move the Sour Fist to the east of the Sour Essence, and direct it above the checkpoint. The fist should eventually reach a (pink) Sweet Essence ! Use the multiple jumps of this new power to carefully make your way back through the parkour of spikes (you can safely land and take damage on the top of a spiky floating platform to regain more jumps). Then, head to the newly added platforms at the narrow entrance of the wall where your fist previously destroyed the box, and hop onto the moving one in crouch position to finally enter the ultimate RYE room ! Congratulations, you have discovered all of these easter eggs, and have truly mastered the Super Secret Challenge! And that’s all, folks!
