How to earn all Achievements

As the proud owner of all 12 Master of Magic achievements (yeah right), I can honestly say they're all piss easy to get except for Wizard Supreme, which is miserable and unfun to get. Nonetheless I'll now cover how to earn all 12 for the 2.7% of you who can be bothered to do so. Enjoy! ... Or try to. Since these are all really easy to earn I'll just gloss over them in their own section. Look in the Myrror: Win a game in which you started on Myrror. Self-Explanitory. Pick Sss'ra, or make a custom wizard with the Myrran trait. Pro tip: if you DON'T have the beyond the Myrror dlc enabled, there's a very good chance that you will be the only wizard on Myrror, which is super broken and will come in handy later. Remember this. Portal Master: Clean out all six types of towers of wizardry. Towers of wizardry are the structures which let you teleport between Arcanus and Myrror. "Cleaning them out" means killing the monsters guarding them. I'm going to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what "all six types" refers to. I think it's referring to the magic school of the monsters guarding it (nature, chaos, etc.) While there are only five magic schools apparently death has a double chance of being rolled, for a total of 6 rolls. In any case just prioritize clearing out these structures and you will earn this soon enough. Cleansing the land: Conquer a total of 50 neutral cities. This can be done across any number of games, so you will earn it eventually. Just take every neutral city you come across, which you should be doing anyway since they tend to be poorly defended and provide easy access to valuable resources and other races units. Playing on lower difficulties helps earn this faster because more neutral cities spawn there. On Extreme difficulty, no neutral cities spawn at all. Don't play on extreme difficulty... except to earn Wizard Supreme. Which Wizard: Win the game as 5 different wizards. Despite what you might think, it's this achievement, and not wizard supreme, which is the least earned. Only 2.7% of players have this achievement, which I think speaks to the poor quality of this remake, if you think about it. I'm not sure if custom wizards count for this or if it has to be 5 of the pregenerated wizards. In any case this might take a while but isn't too hard to earn. If you want to speed it up you can try playing on the lowest difficulty to speed up the game, as it gives you bonuses such as more casting skill, and more power from nodes. Warmaster of Magic: Win the game by defeating all other wizards. Generally this is the harder of the two victory conditions to achieve. In order to defeat an enemy wizard you must take every single one of their towns, which can take a while. Additionally at least one wizard will always be on Myrror and will usually become quite powerful. Fortunately the AI is not very good, often leaving individual cities sparsely defended and typically pooling all of its units and heroes into a single "doomstack" which is the only real threat it will muster. If you can defeat the doomstack, you've pretty much beaten that specific AI, so this isn't so much hard to earn as just tedious. In my opinion there isn't any one spell school or build best suited for earning this, although some, such as chaos or death, may initially appear to be so. Instead, some general tips I can provide are: Try to take out the rival wizards one by one. Declare war one at a time, and wipe out their cities as quickly as possible. You will usually want to have the awareness spell up before declaring war if possible to know the precise location of all their cities. Access to a decent army is also obviously a must, but you should prioritize speed over raw power. Since enemy cities are usually sparsely guarded a fast stack can swoop in, take the city, and move on to the next before the enemy can retaliate. Fortunately, the top tier normal units of most races are both fast and powerful, so use stacks of these if you have access to them, augmenting them with whatever heroes or fantastic units you may have access to as needed. Be sure not to attach slower units to the stacks, however, as this will slow the entire stack down. Spellmaster of Magic: Win the game by casting the Spell of Mastery. This is by far the easier of the two victory conditions. All it requires is researching all, or almost all, of the spells available to you, researching the spell of mastery, and casting it. While this can easily take over 200-300 turns depending on difficulty, as long as you can placate the AI long enough to get the research done actually casting it is trivial. While beginning the (very long) cast will make every AI declare war immediately they're actually really bad about stopping you from getting the cast off. The two main ways of stopping the cast are to either cast spell blast, a sorcery exclusive spell, or to take the enemy capital, banishing them and interrupting the cast. The AI is not smart enough to do either, even in the rare cases when it has access to spell blast and is able to cast it, meaning once you start casting this victory is all but assured. Power of Knowledge: Research a very rare spell of any domain. You will naturally get this as part of normal gameplay, however you will get it faster the more spellbooks of a single school you have. You need at least 3 spellbooks from one school in order to be able to research very rare spells. The more you have, the more you can research. Node Master: Control at least one type of node (chaos, sorcery, nature) in a single game. The description is ambiguous, but I'm pretty sure this means have one of each type, not just one singular node. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Nodes can be tricky to take, as they are heavily defended and the units on them get buffs. However there's usually at least a few lying around that are defended more sparsely, and if worst comes to worst you can always steal some from the AI. Lord knows the AI loves to steal them from you. The AI is even worse at defending its nodes than it is at defending its cities so a perfectly viable strategy is to let them do the work for you and kill the defenders, then take the poorly defended node afterward. Master Archaeologist: Gather 100 artifacts from places of interest on the world map. This is one of those "pointless grind" achievements that you'll eventually get just by playing the game enough. Just focus on clearing dungeons and you'll earn it soon enough. Note that the better defended a dungeon is the more likely it'll give you an artifact, rather than just some mana and/or gold. The ones with red beams coming out of them give better loot than the ones with yellow beams. Taste of Despair: Lose your capital city. This is a purely negative achievement that requires you to play bad on purpose. Putting these in a game is usually poor form. Playing on extreme difficulty gives you a good chance of earning this, since the roaming monster marauders are very powerful and your starting swordsman defenders often die of attrition on the first turn - excellent design by the way. Thank you, Slitherene. Otherwise you can earn this easily by just leaving your capital completely undefended. Sooner or later marauders will come and take it. Best to save before doing this. I'm just getting started: Research your first spell The easiest achievement of all. It is almost impossible not to earn this. Despite that, only 66% of people have earned it. That means 34% of people who own this game have either never played it, or played it for a few minutes and were so repulsed that they never touched it again. Once again - what does that say about the quality of this remake? The granddaddy of them all, the only achievement that requires more than a little effort to earn, and requiring a strategy so precise that it needs its own section - this is wizard supreme. I honestly hate when games do this, having 99% of the achievements be super trivial but th
