Farming System Crop rotation is real in this game and it's important to make sure you're matching the proper crop type to soil type to achieve the highest yield you can. Crop and soil type match ups have since changed in the new Shifting Gears update as well. Soil Types There are three soil types in the game, each influencing crop performance based on nutrient compatibility: Nitrogenic Phosphoric Potassic Crop Types & Soil Match Crops are categorized by their nutrient needs: Crop Type Ideal Soil (High Yield) Counter Soil (Mutated Yield) Animals roam around in sections across the map, here I'll be more or less just listing the animals, where to find them, and the type of fodder they prefer.
