Hi, In this guide I will go over Animal Husbandry in The Ranchers I saw people asking a lot of questions about it, and I thought let's make this guide also. I will go over the animals one by one, you can breed the animals, so if you have purchased your animals and keep them alive you can make sure to get more overtime. when you grow food for the animals (salad, lettuce, carrots), only put in the basic food tier in the silo's and sell the giant crop and higher tiers If you have followed the Quest you will already have 2 hens, but let's go from the point that you still have to do the quest before you buy the animals there are a few things that you need to setup, to make sure the chickens have a place the sleep, eat, drink and be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. so we have to go shopping let's go to City Hall First and see Meriam, before you go put 60 stone, 70 wood and 15 hay in your inventory you will need to buy a coop, and you have a few options: Coop, Max animals 6, Price $5,760 Big Coop, Max animal 12, Price $14,400 Deluxe Coop, Max animals 24, Price $28,800 my suggestion is go for the Deluxe Coop, you will need the space anyway we will also be buying the Water Tower and the Silo Water Tower, Price $5,760 Small Silo, Price $3,600 Medium Silo, Price $6,600 Big Silo, Price $11,400 my suggestion is go for the Big Silo, once you add more animal types you will need to storage capacity go to Angela's Ranch to get the Barn Heat Kit and AutoFeeder Kit, she will be at her shop stall at certain times in the week shopping list Barn Heat Kit, Price $1,440 Barn AutoFeeder Kit, Price $9,600 if you went with my suggestions you would need a total of $57,000 now go back to the ranch and you can build the coop on the desired spot you want to have it, and make sure to fence it off now place the Barn Heat Kit and the Barn AutoFeeder Kit against the outside of the coop place your Silo and Water Tower down somewhere, but keep in mind they need to be in range of the AutoFeeder (equip the hammer and hover over the Silo or Water Tower to see the range, you also see the range while placing them). and make sure to fill the silo with some food for the animals (in the animal info card you can see what food they eat), I use hay for the chickens go in to your coop and let's setup the AutoFeeder, set the troughs to you desired setting, make sure have set water and food (in the animal info card you can see what food they eat). I always set half of the troughs to water and half to a food type all you have to do now is interact with the AutoFeeder in the coop so it fills the troughs, the game will auto fill the troughs after that now let's go back to Angela's Ranch and get our animals we will get the hens and roosters from her, I would suggest to go for 5 hens and 1 rooster, which hens or rooster you choose doesn't matter Hen (all the same), Price $2,304 Rooster (all the same), Price $2,304 that will get your total at Angela's to $13,824 so our total expenses are $70,824 to setup the chickens (with long term in mind) when you are back at the ranch link the animals to the coop you have build, and pet them so they have there first half heart in the info card now your animals are set and you will have to wait a few days for some eggs, once they lay a egg you have two things that can happen. you get a failed egg or a fertile egg, if it is fertile DO NOT pick it up, this will disrupt the process and dropping it back on the floor doesn't make the process continue and if you want to get Medium and Large eggs, make sure to keep the coop door open so they can roam outside from 08.00 hours to 19.00 hours now the only choice you have to make if do you want to keep some of the new chicks, or do you sell there meat (axe could be handy then) Now you have the chickens setup you can do the same for rabbits, because we went over how to setup everything in the chickens section i won't be repeating to much. the shopping list at Meriam in City Hall will be almost the same, I still recommend getting a new Silo for the rabbits, because they eat different food then the chickens, I feed my chickens hay and my rabbits what i can grow that season shopping list Meriam in City Hall: Deluxe Coop, Max animals 24, Price $28,800 Big Silo, Price $11,400 Shopping list Angela's Ranch: Barn Heat Kit, Price $1,440 Barn AutoFeeder Kit, Price $9,600 expenditure for now $51,240 go back to your ranch and setup the items you have just bought, put the desired food in the silo (if you are not growing seasonal food for the rabbits, you can buy there food at Leafy Markets until you do), and setup the troughs inside the coop. now go back to Angela's Ranch and buy the rabbits, same as the chickens I go for 5 Doe's and 1 Buck Rabbit Buck, Price $4,320 Rabbit Doe, Price $4,320 expenditure $25,920 this will bring your total cost to setup the rabbits to $77,160 bring the rabbits back to your ranch and link them as we did with the chickens, make sure to pet them for that day for rabbits to become pregnant they need to be Mature, when you buy them they will be babies, so we need to wait a while for them to start the breeding process now you have your rabbits setup, you can start breeding them to get more, sell there meat if you have more then you want (again the axe is your friend) Now you have chickens and rabbits, and some money should be already coming in. you have saved the funds and you want to go for the next animal type, goats. by now you starting to see in pattern in what you would need, there is going to be a twist now, before you used coops and now we are going to need barn. so the shopping list is going to change a tiny bit, and we need to go to a different location to get the animals as usual we are going to Meriam at City Hall first, we only have to get 1 item: Deluxe Barn, Max animals 12, Price $36,000 expenditure $36,000 then go to Malcom's Ranch here we will get the Barn Heat Kit and Barn AutoFeeder Kit, and while you are there buy some rope and a bucket to, you will need it to move the bigger animals and the bucket can be used to milk the animals Barn Heat Kit, Price $1,440 Barn AutoFeeder Kit, Price $9,600 Rope, Price $1 Bucket, Price $1,440 expenditure $12,500 go back to your ranch and setup the items you have just bought, and setup the troughs inside the barn now go back to Malcom's Ranch and buy the goats, same as the other animals I go for 5 Doe's and 1 Buck Buck, Price $17,280 Goat Doe, Price $17,280 expenditure $86,400 this will bring your total cost to setup the goats to $134,900 bring the goats back to your ranch (use the rope) and link them as we did with the chickens and rabbits, make sure to pet them for that day for goats to become pregnant they need to be Mature, when you buy them they will be young, so we need to wait a while for them to start the breeding process now you have your goats setup, you can start breeding them to get more, sell there meat if you have more then you want (again the axe is your friend), do not forget to milk them everyday Hope this guide helps you, and happy Ranching by now you know the drill, but I need to explain something about cows, they have different breeds, those breeds do different things. so I will give the short rundown of the breeds: Maine-Anjou, Beef (meant for slaughter, high meat production), Price $24,000 Bretonne Pie Noire, Dairy (meant for milking, high milk production), Price $24,000 Angeln, Dairy (meant for milking, high milk production), Price $28,800 Deutsche Rotbunte, Dairy + Beef (gives more milk and more beef, but lower then the specific breeds), Price $28,800 Gascon, Beef (meant for slaughter, high meat production), Price $28,800 depending on what cow you pick it will either be young or a baby when bought Maine-Anjou, young Bretonne Pie Noire, young Angeln, baby Deutsche Rotbunte, baby Gascon, baby now that's out of the way let's setup the cows, and you guessed it, the first location is Meriam at City Hall, we will get a new barn Deluxe
