This guide came about because I was tired of pulling up 3 different guides to get information for the game while playing. As a result, this guide is a hodge-podge of some other guides currently on Steam, as well as relevant Community posts for this game. Special thanks to the following: Little Goody Two Shoes Official Walkthrough by AstralShiftPro [the devs]- This entire guide uses the official walkthrough as the core skeleton. If you want as little spoilers as possible, this guide is still the best guide to refer to. May their advice help you get that S Rank, or at least understand how to play Kiss the Rat! There's still a lot of info I wasn't able to fully grab, especially the chore ranking scores and all possible dialogue choices. I'll be happy to update the guide and include your username in the special thanks! 📖Story Event 🧹 Chore Minigame ❤️ Love Event ⌛Event will pass the time period 📍 Side Task 🧴 Free Item 🧙🏻‍♀️Suspicion Event 👻 Golden Girl 😵 Muffy Bribe ✅ Steam Achievement 👠Ending Requirements The game takes place over the course of the week, starting on SUNDAY, and ending on SATURDAY. Each day has 6 time slots: • Dawn • Morning • Afternoon • Dusk • Evening - Requires a lantern to walk with visibility • Witching Hour - Requires a lantern to walk with visibility 🍞 You have 5 hunger, as represented by loaves of bread. Every time you enter a new time slot, your hunger will go down by 1 by default, even if the plot mentions characters eating with Elise. When your hunger is low, the screen will get a hazy white border, and the music will sound muffled and slightly distorted. If you leave a time slot with only 1 hunger, it will go down to 0 and you will automatically die. ✅ Blackout – Get a game over due to low hunger ❤️ You have 5 Health, as represented by hearts. Save for some secret events tied to obtaining the true ending, you will only lose your health during the Witching Hour or from Caves while pursuing the 👠Secret End, when attacked by enemies. The amount of damage will vary by the enemy, typically ½ a heart. When your health is low, the screen will get a red border, and the music will be muted with the sound of a heart beating being the focus. If your health hits 0, you will die. ✅ Fatal Blow – Get a game over due to low health 🔥 You have a Sanity Meter, as depicted as a blue bar near Elise’s icon in the upper left corner. Your sanity will only go down if you interact with a 👻 Golden Girl or Enter the Caves while pursuing the 👠Secret End . Golden Maidens will only take off a small percentage, while being in the caves will constantly deplete your sanity while in the overworld (it will pause if you pull up your menu or a talk box is open). When your Sanity is low, the screen will get a spooky border, and ghostly giggling and whispers will play over the music. If your sanity hits 0, you will die. ✅ Phantasmagoria – Get a game over due to low sanity 💡 Elise has a lantern to help make it easier to see in the night. To turn on your lantern, you will need 1 Match . The lantern will only turn off when you are hit by enemies, or you turn off the lantern manually Elise can only hold 20 matches maximum Sometimes Elise will automatically have her lantern turned on when leaving a cut scene, especially in town in the evening. This does not consume a match. You can buy matches from either of the 2 vendors. However, the game will give out so many free matches at witching hour, it's very possible you may not ever need to buy matches from the vendors. There are items that can help recover each meter, sometimes even two meters in one. Some items can be purchased, some can be obtained for free, either from the overworld map or from talking with NPCs. There are 2 stores in town: the Bakery and the Inn. They will sell different items, with their stock selection expanding as you get further into the week. You can sell items to the both of them; they both pay the same amount for each item. These items include: - Grapes - +4T - +1 ❤️ +1 🍞 - Mushroom - +4 T - +1 ❤️ - Berries - +4 T - +1 ❤️ - Acorns - +4 T– +1 ❤️ 💰 SELLABLES 💰 These items serve no purpose, exist only to be sold for money. - Toy Horse – +10 T - Ornate Horse – +30 T - Old Kerchief – +10 T - Fancy Kerchief – +30 T - Leather Purse – +10 T - Silk Pouch – +30 T - Pearl Rosary – +30 T Chores are one of the major ways for you to make money throughout the game. You can do chores from the Morning to the Evening each day of the week. Doing chores will pass the time and take away 1 hunger. There are 4 types of chores in the game: 🍎Collecting Apples 🐀Kiss the Rat 🪓Wood Chopping 🐔Chickens All games have 2 rounds, with a time limit of 30 Seconds each round. At the end of the mini game, your total score will be ranked D-S . You also have the option to redo the mini game, but it will cost you 5 T. You will only receive payment after you have left the mini game screen. The higher the rank you achieve, the more payment you will receive. Starting MONDAY AFTERNOON , you can bring 💜Rozenmarie along with chores, though it wil l consume 3 hunger instead of 1 . If you do chores the entire day, having Rozenmarie by your side the entire time, suspicion will not rise. If you only bring her for one chore or none at all, you will be pulled aside by villagers and have a suspicion event (see the Suspicion section further below).
