Welcome to the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Trophy and Achievement guide! 9/10 Estimated Difficulty – Foxhound Rank 10 – 15 Estimated Hours to Completion 2 Minimum Playthroughs – 1 for all misc. and collectible Trophies/Achievements and 1 more for a FOXHOUND run. 40 Missable Trophies/Achievements The majority of this list is collectible based. You’re going to need to collect every plant, animal, mushroom, camouflage, face paint and Kerotan. Kerotan are toy frogs that are found throughout the game. You’ll need to shoot each of them. You’ll know you’ve “collected” one as they will make a very distinct noise when shot. If you die after collecting something or shooting a Kerotan, you will need to collect it again if you are in the same area. The game is broken up into different named areas. If you save the game, you’ll be back at the start of the area when you load the file. So, keep that in mind when collecting everything. If you’re gonna end your session, save your game in the next area before collecting anything. Playthrough You will need to get through the game without killing anyone. That includes the bosses. You’re going to need to use non lethal weapons against the bosses and during the game. However, there are Trophies/Achievements that are going to require you to kill enemies. Save your game at the beginning of an area, get the kill related Trophies/Achievements and then re-load your save to before you killed anyone. That way, the kills will not have counted but you will have unlocked the Trophies/Achievements. Everything can be followed in chronological order by following the Metal Gear Solid 3 Collectible guide. This includes missable Trophy/Achievement locations. FOXHOUND The Foxhound Trophy/Achievement is going to be the most difficult Trophy/Achievement to earn here. You are going to have to complete the game with some very difficult stipulations. This is something that you should save for last. You’re going to need to really understand this game and what to do before attempting this Trophy/Achievement. During this play-through, you’re going to want to make sure you do not kill any one. That includes bosses. You will need to use non lethal weapons against the bosses. This can be done on any difficulty. There are Trophies/Achievements for killing enemies, but this can be manipulated. Save your game, get the kill related Trophies/Achievements and then load your save to wipe away the kills. The guide below is written on very easy difficulty to make collecting everything required as easy as possible. The following weapons will be automatically acquired at various points in the story: MK22 Survival Knife M1911A1 Directional Mic Single Action Army Fork C3 Patriot EZ Gun Play on Very Easy or collect all plants and animals on higher difficulties. Mushroom A – Continue right to find another fallen log. Look for this mushroom growing on the fallen logs. Frog B – This small green frog can be found in the patch of grass near where Mushroom C was. It’s hard to see, so look carefully for grass moving as it crawls around. Snake H – This is on the ground just behind the log where the previous mushroom was found. Fruit B / D Medicine – This is hanging from the tree in the same area as the previous mushroom and snake. Kerotan #1 – Go over to the east side of the area and there will be a path that heads up. Go up and then look left to find the first Kerotan. Snake G – This is found in the grass around the tree that you climbed to retrieve your gear. Dremuchij Swampland Indian Gavial – These are out in the open in and around the swamp. You’ll need to put one to sleep and then use your knife to kill it. Dremuchij North SVD – As soon as you enter the area go to the right to find an area tucked away. The SVD can be found back here. Bird E – This bird will be on the ground in the patch of grass where the first enemy you encounter is patrolling. It’ll fly away if you get too close or miss your shot. Look at the grass to see it moving. Shoot it when it comes into view. If it flies away, exit back to the swamp and then reenter this area and it’ll be in the grass again. Fruit C – This is found hanging in the tree above where you found Bird E. It may look similar to Fruit B, but they are different. Fruit A – Head forward from where you collected Fruit C and there will be a tree ahead of you next to an open tree stump. There will be three of these red fruit hanging. Grenade – This is found inside of the tree stump to the left of the previous fruit. Kerotan #3 – Go to the right and head down into an open grassy area to find this Kerotan sitting on top of a tree stump. M37 – This is found by a stack of crates opposite of the previous Kerotan hole in the wall. Problem Solved, Series Over – After the cutscene with Ocelot, save your game. Then, kill him. After you get the Trophy/Achievement, re-load your save and continue on with the game. Dremuchij East Kerotan #6 – From the start, head forward into the open area and look to your left to see a fallen log being held up by other tree stumps. This Kerotan is in the middle of those logs. Frog A – This little guy can be found in the grass opposite of where the Kerotan #6 was found. It’s tough to see, but go over to the back wall and look for the grass moving to help locate this frog. Flying Squirrel – There is a squirrel that is jumping from tree to tree near where the Kerotan #6 was located. You can see this climbing up trees and flying through the air. Cold Medicine – This can be found near the back wall across from Kerotan #6. It looks like a small bush on the ground up against the back wall. Same area as the other collectibles in this area. Dremuchij North Snake F – This snake is hanging from a branch ahead of you on the path after sliding down the hill. Snake A – This snake is found in the patch of grass underneath where Fruit C is hanging. We passed through this area during the Virtuous Mission. Kerotan #7 – This Kerotan is up on the mountain in the middle of the area. You can see it from where you found snake A. Before advancing to Dolinovodno, back track to the swamp we came through earlier. Dremuchij Swampland Kerotan #8 – As soon as you enter the actual swamp, go to the right. The Kerotan will be on the ground behind a grouping of four small trees. Backtrack to Dremuchij South. Dremuchij South Markhor – Enter the area and head back to where you started the Virtuous Mission and crawl under the logs again. This will be right there grazing.
