Quake II Secrets Guide Contents Quake II Secrets Call of the Machine Secrets The Reckoning Secrets Ground Zero Secrets Quake II 64 Secrets Introduction This guide will help you find all the secrets in Quake II : Call of the Machine . Call of the Machine features a hub level that connects to six units and each unit contains several levels. They can be completed in any order but this guide lists them from left to right in the main hub level: OPERATION: Laser Eyes OPERATION: Wastelands OPERATION: Corpse Run OPERATION: Firewall OPERATION: Ruined Earth OPERATION: Darkest Depths Temple of the Creator Each unit contains several levels that connect with each other. Sometimes you won't be able to find all the secrets in a level the first time you visit it but later on in the unit you will return to that level to find the rest of the secrets. Follow the levels in order according to this guide and you will find them all before you leave a unit. NOTE: There are no secrets in this level. Secret 1 of 4 Soon after starting the level head into some water and swim to the right. Keep going around a corner and you will see three big pipes and some blue laser beams ( ). Look behind the large pipes ( ) and climb the ladder to find the secret. Reward: Combat Armor Secret 2 of 4 Look for a grate next to a few crates. It can be destroyed allowing you into the pipe below. A tunnel nearby will take you to a secret Machine Gun . Reward: Machine Gun Secret 3 of 4 You will need use two large pumps as lifts to get to the upper platform of this area. After jumping off the pumps look under the platform for a secret. Reward: Combat Armor Secret 4 of 4 After activating the bridge go down the small rocky path just to the left of it. Crouch under here to find a secret. Reward: Adrenaline Secret 1 of 4 At the start of the level jump into the water that contains two barrels. While underwater look carefully to your right to see a cracked metal cover. Destroy it to access the secret. Reward: Invulnerability Secret 2 of 4 In a small outside area walk to the top of the ramp. Look down off the edge to see two square gaps in the wall below. Jump into one of them to find the secret. Reward: Bandolier Secret 3 of 4 After picking up the Data Disc you will head outside (this area is above the location of Secret 2 ). At the far side of this area is a small cliff edge ( ) with a dead body on it. Jump into the corner ( ) and find your way around a pipe to find the secret items. Reward: Grenades, Body Armor Secret 4 of 4 In the room that contains a large Strogg flag look to your left and jump over the gap to a metal platform ( ). From here look up and shoot the red shootable switch ( ) to reveal a ladder to the secret. Reward: Megahealth, Slugs Secret 1 of 2 There is a secret underneath the platform that you start the level on. Look for the dead marine body to show you where to jump down to ( ). Reward: Quad Damage Secret 2 of 2 After going through the Yellow Key Door , ride the elevator down into a large room. Look for a dead body hanging off the edge of a platform and use the nearby lift to get up there. Drop down carefully off the edge and crouch under the platform to reach the item. Reward: Adrenaline Extra Secret There is an optional secret to find now that the blue laser beams have been disabled. Return to Security Annex (the entrance is near the two large pumps in Outer Complex ) and work your way all the way back up to the top of level. Look down and carefully jump to a ledge on your left ( ) and walk around the edge. Then head behind a few crates in the far corner ( ) to find a secret area that used to be protected by a blue laser. Reward: None Secret 1 of 3 Once inside the installation go to the room with several red crates (there is a Rocket Launcher nearby) and look for a door ( ) which is very slightly open. You can just see a Quad Damage behind the door. Now look between the gap in the stack of crates to the left of the door to see a red shootable switch ( ) that will open it. Reward: Ammo Pack, Quad Damage, Adrenaline Secret 2 of 3 When jumping between platforms over the acid pit look for a door to your right that has a red outline. Jump over to the door and it will automatically open. Reward: Grenade Launcher, Adrenaline, Combat Armor Secret 3 of 3 Later in the level you will find a small bridge over some more acid. Look up and shoot the orange connector ( ) on the left crate to make it drop down. Use it as platform to reach the door ( ) and it will open automatically as you approach. Reward: Super Shotgun, Shells x2 Secret 1 of 3 Near to a red sign above a doorway that says "Installation" and to the left of some red crates with a Combat Armor on it there is a black and yellow striped door. Approach the Super Shotgun inside to claim the secret but be wary of a Mutant ambush. Reward: Super Shotgun, First Aid x3, Shells x2, Secret 2 of 3 In a room with some stairs that has two Strogg flags either side look at the crates on the left. A red computer switch ( ) can be pressed to allow access underneath the stairs ( ). Then shoot the red switch ( ) to reveal the exit to the secret level: McGee Station . Reward: SECRET LEVEL Secret 3 of 3 Near a yellow forcefield that has the sign "Launch Systems" above it look for a pillar. One side has a crack in it and can be destroyed to reveal the secret. Reward: Double Damage Secret 1 of 2 After acquiring the Blue Keycard head back to the room with the two long conveyor belts. There will be several enemy ambushes here. Follow the conveyor belts to the end of the room and check the area behind the newly opened door ( ) to the left of the red laser beams. In here look for a red and black striped square ( ) and shoot it to reveal a teleporter. Reward: None Secret 2 of 2 After passing through the teleporter from Secret 1 you'll be in an ice area. To reach the secret you have to gain momentum by jumping up one wall curve ( ) to the other ( ) several times until you get enough speed and height to be able to jump on top of the platform and claim the item ( ). If you're having a lot of trouble with this tricky jump, then you can also try rocket jumping (jump and shoot a rocket at the ground beneath you) to get a big boost to your jump height and reach the platform that way. Reward: Dualfire Damage Secret 1 of 3 In a large circular room that has a ladder in the middle of it go to the sides and down into the water ( ). Look for a hole in the central pillar ( ) to find a secret. Reward: Railgun, Slugs Secret 2 of 3 While walking through a broken pipe you will see an Adrenaline on the other side that is too far to reach. Drop down, exit the water ( ) and then climb up the junk on the left ( ). Look back towards the pipe to see a broken section you can jump into ( ) and reach the secret. Reward: Adrenaline, Stimpack x4 Secret 3 of 3 In the large orange room which has lava pits at the bottom make your way up to the top floor. Look behind some crates ( ) for a secret. Reward: Body Armor Secret 1 of 4 Inside a dark cave (you will be using your flashlight automatically) look for a broken rock pillar ( ) to jump on to. Make another jump over to a cart ( ) that contains a red substance. Crouch under the wall to get to the items in the cart and claim the secret. Reward: Adrenaline, Cells Secret 2 of 4 Near to the large red forcefield look nearby at some pipes to see one is slightly open ( ) and you can enter it. Head inside and carefully walk to the right to find another pipe you can enter ( ) containing the secret. Reward: Adrenaline Secret 3 of 4 Inside the installation you will come across a stuck door ( ) next to a Grenade . To open it throw a Grenade through the gap and into the vent on the floor ( ). It will trigger a switch that will open the door. Reward: Combat Armor Secret 4 of 4 In a large room there are two conveyor belts moving crates.
