cheese verb (used with object) , cheesed, chees·ing. 1. (in a game, especially a video game) to win by using a strategy that requires minimal skill and knowledge or that exploits a glitch or flaw in game design: He cheesed the fight by trapping his enemy in the environment and attacking without taking damage. Before we begin: please note that this is a cheesy guide. We're going to use every dirty trick and tactic in the book short of using unlocking tools or editing game files. This is not the intended way to play the game, and I'm going to make no attempts to avoid spoilers or preserve the game experience. If you want a natural experience of the game, this is not the guide for you. Also, this is rough and ready - it should be helpful, but I make no claim that it's perfection. That being said, if you see something totally wrong in here, let me know so I can correct it, and if you find the guide useful, drop me a good rating. Let's get down to business. Console commands are going to be the bread and butter of this guide, so let's introduce the key ones that you will be needing. You can open the console with the tilde (~) key. Important note: Rune does not persist your console commands between maps/levels, in single player or multiplayer, so you will need to re-enable cheats as you jump around getting the various achievements. cheatplease: enables the use of cheats god: makes player invincible ghost/walk: enables/disables noclip summon [name]: spawns the item or NPC named open [map name]: sends you to a specific map Most of the achievements in this guide involve warping to a specific map with "open", toggling god mode and noclip, then flying to an enemy or a trigger, so get used to inputting those commands quickly. For achievements where you need a weapon, I recommend "summon vikingbroadsword" as it seems to be one of the better ones in the game. There are three achievements for beating the game, and they are some of the quickest. To unlock them, start a new game on hard then immediately open the console and enter "open asgard". That will bring you to the final scene of the game, seen below. Simply walk over the rainbow bridge and all three achievements should unlock. At this point, I recommend starting a new game on easy difficulty since nothing else is difficulty specific and it will make some things slightly faster. The next set of achievements are all unlocked as part of natural progression through the game, but since we strive for unnatural progression we'll be skipping as much as possible. These can be a bit more involved than the rest of the list, but should still be fairly quick. Deal with the Deadly Dangler Fish This first one gave me the most trouble out of the entire list because there are a couple spots in the game where you encounter the dangler fish and some of the triggers are finicky. To start, go to the console and enter "open deepunder3", then enable cheats and god mode. Specifically for this achievement, I recommend trying not to use noclip/ghost mode because as mentioned the triggers seem temperamental and I didn't get the achievement my first time through the level using them. Thankfully, the layout of the level is mostly fairly linear. From the start, run forward until you get to the edge of a large pit. Approaching should trigger a cutscene where a rock falls from above. Next, jump down into the pit and you should see an area with some creatures and a dangling rope. Jump down again to the bottom level and run around until you hit a cutscene trigger that makes another large rock fall from the ceiling (make sure not to let it hit you), the rope should now be accessible (grab with ctrl) and you can climb up to the ledge. In the next area you'll see several ropes, you don't need these, just drop down again and head to the right along some sludge until you hit an open cliff with a path leading up to the left. Follow that path, if you fall you should be able to noclip back up, and you'll come to a waterfall. Head up the waterfall as far as you can go to the source, which should look like a small pond. We're almost home free now. Dive into the waterfall source pool and you should be in an underwater tunnel. Head left where you should see some strands of seaweed and a square pillar. The level exit is directly around the corner to the right around the pillar, and the dangler fish is in the big open section to the left. To be safe, I recommend aggro'ing the fish before exiting as that is what I did when I unlocked the achievement. To leave the level, head around the pillar and you'll see some more square looking structures, if you head to the left there is a cave with a tunnel leading straight up. Swim upwards and you should hit the level transition. Congratulations, you've unlocked the hardest achievement in Rune Classic. To Hel and Back The next achievement is significantly easier. Go to the console and type "open hel1b" to go to the correct level, which should look like this. Enable cheats and turn on noclip (god mode too if you are paranoid as there is an enemy at the level start). From your starting point, noclip straight down through the floor then look to the left. You should see a lot of the map, including a chasm with some lava running through it. Fly directly through the map towards the circled area in this image. At the top of the chasm, you should see a small elevator, this takes you to the next level. Fly into the elevator, turn off noclip, and hit the switch with ctrl. The level should end and the achievement should unlock. Try This On For Size The next achievement is extremely straightforward and easy. Go to the console and enter "open trialpit". While the cutscene is playing, enable cheats, turn on god mode and spawn yourself a weapon. The pit beast will break the cage you are in, simply hit it until it is dead and the achievement will unlock. Knock His Lights Out Next up is a fairly easy puzzle boss. Go to the console and enter "open dwarfmap6darkdwarf" to warp to the correct level. Enable cheats, god mode, and noclip. Head directly forward through two large rooms. Once you noclip through the far wall in the second room, look to your right and in the distance you should see a large room filled with pillars. Fly to this room and head through the wall at the end. Keep moving forward until you come to a large boss arena with the dark dwarf in it. The encounter itself is extremely easy as the boss cannot damage you. To defeat it, simply go through the blue portals in the pillars around the room. Every time you go through a portal, it will take you to the upper level and a switch located behind the pillar of the portal you entered through will become interactable. Keep going through portals and hitting switches, when you've hit them all the boss will be destroyed, causing a yellow portal to open. Go through the portal and the achievement should unlock. Sark Ragnar Go to the console and enter "open loki3a". A cutscene should play where Ragnar emerges from a purple pool in a new, dark form. The achievement should unlock immediately. Kill Sark Conrack Untested unlock method: it is possible to spawn the final boss into any point of the game with the command "summon sarkconrack". I don't know whether summoning him in this way and then killing him unlocks the achievement or not, but it may be worth trying. Otherwise, the unlock method I used doesn't take terribly long. The final story achievement is also very straightforward. Go to the console and enter "open villageruin". Enable god mode, summon and pick up a weapon, and turn on noclip. Fly straight up through the ceiling and the final arena should be visible. Go to the arena, turn off noclip, and walk a short distance back through the entrance tunnel to trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene, run to the other side of the central mound and kill Sark Conrack, the achievement shou
