Metal Slug 3 is not an easy game, but don't worry. The more you play it and memorize it, the better you get at it. The game has rather straightforward achievements and most of them require quite a bit of grinding. You will get most of the achievements by simply playing the game a lot, but getting 100% completion requires some serious skill. Grinding Achievements NURSE , HERO and THE KING OF RECOVERY require you to rescue P.O.W.s (Prisoners of War). The amount needed (1000) is pretty high and requires many runs through the game. Luckily, you only need to free the prisoners, you don't need to make it to the end of the level for them to count towards these achievements. P.O.W.s are tied guys with yellow beards. They appear on every level. Achievement P.O.W. Needed Complete Mission 1 on any difficulty to unlock the ROOKIE achievement. Easiest path is to not go into the submarine and to not go into the boat, but keep going upward and into the tube. On that route all your enemies will be crabs. Although taking the boat makes the boss battle easier. You decide. Bump into Rumi Aikawa during Mission 1 to unlock the OASIS OF THE BATTLEFIELD (RUMI) achievement. She'll be coming down the stairs near the submarine. Pretty hard to miss. She'll give you the super grenade special weapon. If you take the "tube route" during Mission 1 you can rescue Utan the chimp and get the I LOVE BANANAS achievement. He is trapped inside a cage. If you shoot the cage, Utan will follow you around with his Mac-10 submachine gun until you die. Unfortunately, he is easily distracked from fighting and starts picking his nose or scratching his private parts. If you missed the I LOVE BANANAS achievement on the first level, you will most likely unlock it on the second level. Utan the chimp is once again trapped inside a cage. Break him free to unlock the achievement. The next two achievements are only available when going through the alternative cave path on Mission 2. About halfway through the level, you should see a wall with an "ICEMAN" sign above it. Shoot the door to enter the cave. The cave is full of sasquatches that attack you with their snow projectiles. Get hit by one to unlock the SNOWMAN achievement. Rapidly smash all the buttons to escape your snowy prison. After landing the snow attack, the enemies will hit you with their clubs. Rescue Madoka Aikawa to unlock the OASIS OF THE BATTLEFIELD (MADOKA) achievement. She is trapped inside one of the steelboxes located deeper in the cave. She is hard to miss. There are no achievements that are exclusive to Mission 3 Early during the Mission 4, you'll get a chance to get the HYAKUTARO ARRIVES achievement. After the second truck, you should see a pile of sandbags on the ground. Get them out of the way and you should discover a POW under them. Hyakutaro is no ordinary POW though. He'll follow you and attack your enemies until you die. Complete the Mission 5 to get the GAME CLEAR achievement. This can be done in the Mission mode, meaning that once you have reached the final mission, you can start playing from the start of the final mission with full credits. Again, easiest way to do this is to put the game on easy difficulty. The bosses on the final mission are easier than the boss in Mission 4. Final mission is more of an endurance race as the stage just goes on and on... Well, that should do it. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to post comments below.
