Final Fantasy IV (Pixel Remaster) is an overhauled version of the original, with remodeled sprites and audio, but the core gameplay that you've come to remember and love is still the same. That being said, the achievements are not abundant, nor exhausting to complete. Do keep a keen eye out on your bestiary and treasure chests, as there are missable ones in this game that, once skipped, cannot be returned to. If you want more "walk-through" oriented instructions, you can follow the treasure chest portion of this guide, which will detail the chronological order in which you find all missable and collectible content. Happy hunting! "Apprentice Warrior", "Experienced Warrior" Defeated 100 monsters, Defeated 500 monsters, Defeated 1000 monsters. You'll earn the 100 monsters early on; somewhere around the Underground Waterway, East it will unlock for most players. 500 monsters will occur somewhere around Mt. Ordeals. Lastly, 1,000 monsters will probably trigger around the Tower of Babel depending on how much grinding you've done so far. "Field Research- Basic", "Field Research- Advanced & "Field Research- Professional" Completed 10% of the Bestiary entries, Completed 50% of the Bestiary entries & Completed 100% of the Bestiary entries. The 100% of your bestiary will unlock upon defeating the final boss. "Rookie Treasure Hunter", "Veteran Treasure Hunter" & "Legendary Treasure Hunter" Collected treasure from 10% of the chests, Collected treasure from 50% of the chests. You'll unlock the 10% mark somewhere around your adventure of collecting the Sand Ruby. At 50% of all treasure chests, you'll unlock this while collecting them all in the Dwarven Castle. We'll be covering how to obtain every achievement as they come, find every treasure chest, every monster, every hidden item, secret magic spells and where to go to visit every location on the map. For those looking for just certain bits of information, each area is listed below in chronological order of when you traverse the game for easy reference. If you follow along, you'll find everything you need. Spoilers galore! Anyway, let's get started: You'll start the game obtaining the water crystal for the king. The cutscene will play out and you'll fight two different groups of monsters. Well, Cecil will; you'll just stand and watch him. After the cutscene plays out and you gain control at the castle, head over to this area to access the three treasure chests behind a false wall. To track everything, you'll see a counter as shown below. It will show how many treasure chests we need to collect, our total, the total amount of hidden objects and any other missable content, such as monsters. Location - Prologue (Castle Baron) Treasure Chests: 3 Total treasure chests at this point: 3/342 Hidden Items: 0 Total Hidden Items at this point: 0/54 New Monsters: Floating Eyes, Zu, Goblin, Helldiver & Sword Rat Missable Monster Encounters: 0 Head over to this false wall and access the treasure chests before going to bed. We'll also add two monsters to our bestiary as part of those automated battles on the airship. Once we leave the castle, you'll add the Goblin, Sword Rat and will have repeat Helldivers in the area to fight. Exit Castle Baron and immediately go either right or left to enter the town of Baron. We'll have some hidden items to locate and some treasure chests to find here. Location - Prologue (Castle) Treasure Chests: 6 (We can only obtain three at the moment; we'll get the rest later.) Total treasure chests at this point: 6/342 Hidden Items: 8 Total Hidden Items at this point: 8/54 New Monsters: 0 Missable Monster Encounters: 0 First, the treasure chests are all located inside the inn. Check the crossed swords shown below to open a false wall and collect them. These will be the only ones we can collect for the time being. Additionally, there will be eight hidden items for us to collect. Make sure to grab them all before leaving the town as shown in the photos below. For the two in the water, you'll access those via the stairs in the north of town that will let you walk through the canal. Just west of the castle is our first Chocobo Forest we'll locate. Pop in, rid a Chocobo if you'd like and then make your way northwest to Mist Cave. Fun fact; if you try to ride the white Chocobo, it'll refuse, but it will restore your MP. There is one hidden item here, like other forests you'll find along your adventure. Make sure to grab it before leaving! Location - Chocobo Forest, Baron Area Treasure Chests: 0 Total treasure chests at this point: 6/342 Hidden Items: 1 Total Hidden Items at this point: 9/54 New Monsters: 0 Missable Monster Encounters: 0 Inside Mist Cave, you'll find more of the same enemies as mentioned in the overworld previously, as well as a few new ones to add to the list. There are four easy-to-locate treasure chests in the area. Once you have looted the chests, head outside through the top-right ladder. Location - Mist Cave & Mist Treasure Chests: 4 Total treasure chests at this point: 10/342 Hidden Items: 0 Total Hidden Items at this point: 9/54 New Monsters: Insectus, Flying Eyes, Mist Dragon Missable Monster Encounters: 0 Inside the cave you'll find a few new monsters listed above, as well as a repeat appearance of the basic goblin. After defeating the Mist Dragon, head outside the cave and east to the town of Mist. After the conclusion of the event and the subsequent fight that follows, you'll be on the other side of the landslide. Go north to the next town in the barren desert. Travel through the desert to the northwest to find a small oasis village known as Kaipo, Oasis of the Desert. Location - Kaipo, Oasis of the Desert Treasure Chests: 0 Total treasure chests at this point: 10/342 Hidden Items: 1 Total Hidden Items at this point: 10/54 New Monsters: Desert Sahagin, Hundlegs, Sand Worm, Baron Soldier, General Missable Monster Encounters: 1 (General) There are also a number of new creatures to add to our bestiary, so make sure we catalog all the desert dwellers while we're here. When you head into town, you'll automatically head towards the inn to let the injured girl rest. Baron soldiers will interrupt your slumber and try to kill you and her. Now, this battle is quite interesting. If you kill all three soldiers, the general will flee (coward!), so only kill, at most, two of them so you can log the general entry as well. The general won't flee as long as at least a singular soldier stands. If you accidentally do, reload and do it again. After the battle, you'll be free to roam. There is one hidden item located here, so be sure to collect it! Before venturing forward, I'd recommend leveling up Rydia a bit, since she'll join you fairly behind Cecil in levels. When you're ready, head north to the Underground Waterway that
