In SHOGUN: Total War, several bugs affect the game such as units not moving correctly on modern Windows, certain historical campaign battles crash when reinforcements arrive, voice clips cut out, and many more. This installer combines all my fixes into a single setup tool. Choose the fixes you want and the installer patches your game folder. The installer backs up any file it changes. Supported versions: the original GOG/Steam ShogunM.exe . Download the installer using the link below. Run Unofficial Shogun Total War Collection Patch.exe The installer will try to find your Steam or GOG game folder automatically. If it picks the wrong folder, browse to the folder that contains ShogunM.exe . Choose the fixes you want. Click Install and let it finish. → Download latest version [github.com] Note: Windows may show an Unknown Publisher or SmartScreen warning because the installer is unsigned. Terrain Movement Fix Click terrain and drag formations in battle. Units should respond properly on modern Windows. Historical Campaigns Crash Fix Play a historical campaign battle where timed reinforcements previously caused a crash. The battle should continue instead of crashing. Voice Audio Fix Enter the throne room and click the adviser. Speech should play to the end. Other voice lines across the game that previously cut out should also play correctly. Limited Ammo Setting Fix Load a campaign with limited ammo disabled in the options. Ranged units should have unlimited ammunition in battle. 120-Man Unit Balance Fix Set battle unit size to 120 and start or load a campaign. Recruit cost, upkeep, and training time should stay at their normal values. Annual Harvest Report Audio Restoration Start or load a campaign and wait for the annual harvest report. The messenger should now speak the harvest line. Kawanakajima AI Behaviour Fix Play the 4th Kawanakajima historical battle. The Uesugi army should advance and engage rather than remaining passive. Odawara Rout Pathing Fix Play the Odawara historical campaign battle. Routed Hojo units should retreat toward the nearest map edge rather than becoming stuck in the wall. Unit Retraining Drag Fix Load a campaign with a unit undergoing retraining. Drag it from the Training tab onto the campaign map. The unit should return to the map without the game crashing. Throne Room Quote Randomiser Click the throne room adviser repeatedly across at least two sessions. The lines should vary rather than always playing in the same fixed order. Requires the Voice Audio Fix. If you only installed ShogunM.exe fixes: Right-click the game in your Steam library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. Steam will restore the original ShogunM.exe . If you also installed the Terrain Movement Fix: Remove these files from your game folder: DDraw.dll D3DImm.dll D3D9.dll dgVoodoo.conf If any of those files have a .unofficial-patch.bak backup beside them, restore the backup instead of deleting the file. To restore a backup manually: close the game, delete the patched file, then rename the matching .unofficial-patch.bak back to its original filename. Installer cannot find the game Browse to the folder that contains ShogunM.exe . Wrong install was patched If you have both Steam and GOG installed, rerun the installer and browse to the correct game folder. Windows shows a warning The installer is unsigned. Source code and checksum are on the GitHub release page. Terrain Movement Fix is unavailable The terrain movement fix requires modern Windows and is not available on Windows XP.
