Showers are limited. Look at the water tank above the shower to see how much water is left. And please, don't fight Hiss while standing in the shower. ALL Water Faucets heal. You're not limited to showers and Safe Rooms. Leech Juice removes Radiation Buildup (aka, "The Glow"). Water and then electricity is the best way to get rid of Stickies. You can respec in the elevator and when you're dead, ready to respawn. Hello, and welcome, fellow Firebreaker! This is FBC Firebreak, the new PvE Shooter from Remedy. If this is your first experience with Remedy, welcome again! Remedy enjoys tying lots of little details together in their games that keep you thinking about them even when you're not playing. Firebreak is no exception; those details here are a lot of systems at work under the hood, systems that have led to my friends and I experiencing several "aha!" moments while playing. I decided it would be best to share what I've learned so far in my time helping Hank, Jerry, and Director Faden with containing the Hiss inside The Oldest House. I hope this helps!! When in doubt - run it out! Repositioning in fights is key in FBC. As long as you have stamina, you can outrun every enemy type (but not their bullets) in the game.** Sprinting away to find different cover when a fight looks hairy is a good way to keep your back clear, keeps you from getting too surrounded, and funnels the enemies into a "general direction" that you can concentrate your fire on. ** Enemies on fire / sped up by the Snare Drum can also catch you The Leech Juice that explodes out of the Wall Leeches when you kill them not only makes you immune to the Radioactive Pearls that drop, but also removes any current radioactive buildup, so get covered in it! Enemies that have been "pinked" in Frequency Shift are extremely vulnerable to melee damage. This goes for you too! If you are fully pinked, you will be 1-shot by any melee or explosion, so stay hydrated! Keep an eye out for ceiling sprinklers: they're all over the place, and will help remove a negative status effect in a pinch! (they won't heal though.) Pay attention to the UI around your health bar: it will inform you of any negative status buildups you may be accruing, and will also display any of your teammates' resonant perks you may be benefiting from. The upper-center of your HUD not only displays your Shield and Stamina, but also shows you how many of your teammates are currently "in resonance." Having at least 1 person "in resonance" with you grants you both faster Shield recharge, and any Resonant Perk effects are shared. Corrupted Items can only be destroyed with Black Rock. Using the Black Rock Neutralizer gun is the standard way to do this; but other methods, like coupling your weapon with the Black Rock Rounds Perk also get the job done. (I'm still trying to destroy a corrupted item with the Black Rock Socks Perk.) If you are playing with Corrupted Items, opening the door to a new section in the level will spawn the next corrupted item, so its a good idea to keep your Black Rock Neutralizer in spots that are easy to locate, like the entrances and exits to new sections. Repeatedly pushing the elevator button when you're extracting seems to make the countdown go faster. The Shower and Healing Each Shower has limited use: check the water jug placed above the shower to see how much healing it has left. Standing in the shower while at full health does not seem to drain the stored water. On the subject of healing - Water Faucets heal, and have unlimited uses. While you will always find a faucet inside a Safe Room, you can also find them in offices and in bathrooms. Keep an eye out to keep your health topped up! The Splash Kit's deployable water tank also heals (in addition to removing negative status aliments) Ammo Stations & Safe Rooms The Ammo Station will also refill your deployable item (be that the water tank, the speaker, or the turret), and you can have more than one depolyable item active at once, so go crazy! While you are going crazy refilling your stuff, be aware that the Ammo Station does actually have limited ammo; the Station's reserves are visually represented by how "stocked" the Station looks. If playing with Corrupted Items, Ammo Stations will also (almost always) come equipped with a Black Rock Neutralizer. A Safe Room will always have: consumable ammo boxes, a few grenades, a reusable faucet, and a reusable water sprinkler in the ceiling to wash off negative status effects. It will often requisition materials to grab, and will sometimes have a Black Rock Neutralizer as well. Your kit defines your role when firebreaking. While you can solve any problem with any kit equipped, some kits are made for certain jobs. Fix Kit The Fix Kit is the kit that interacts the most with the level's problems. Yes, the Splash Kit puts out fires, and yes the Jump Kit tuns on stations and heaters, but you are in charge of EVERYTHING else. You're needed to fix lights, pipes, showers, fuses, panels, and switches. While the fix kit does have limited combat capability, its true strength lies in completing level tasks quickly, and under duress. If it's dark, look out for yellow fuse boxes to fix. If you hear sparking, there's a good chance there's a pipe or big-yellow power line nearby that needs some percussive maintenance. In a pinch, and you're out of ammo, the wrench is good for knocking enemies back, and creating space. Breaker-Hiss (The big-armored dudes with pipes) don't seem to be staggered by the wrench, so save your health. Wrench also works for removing Pink Stuff, as well as sticky notes, (but you will find yourself covered in the respective substance) You should also keep an eye on the elevator switch when exiting, as it is prone to breaking, and a quick swing from your wrench can fix that. Jump Kit The Jump Kit is allll utility baby. While the jump kit is great for getting around, and for turning things on, it really starts to shine when you have a partner backing you up. Couple Jumping with the "Black Rock Socks" Perk (although i think this might be bugged rn) Electric Discharge into wet enemies will spread electric damage to anything nearby that's wet. Electric Discharge will not only stun Breaker-Hiss, but bring them to their knees, making the weak-spot on their back super-easy to shoot. It also stuns the Heavy Bomb-Diffusal-Lookin guys. Electrifying Wet Sticky Notes will create a chain-reaction, destroying all wet Sticky Notes in close proximity to each other. You can clear out whole rooms and hallways in seconds with this, it's so much fun! Splash Kit Splash Kit is all about having a super-soaker fight with everyone around you. Your #1 priority should be fires and friends. If you see either of those two things, make sure you're dousing them. Water removes negative effects from your teammates and delays buildup. Keep an eye on your teammates' nametags over their heads - In addition to it showing their health and shields, it also shows if they have any negative effects building up. Fire can make the Hiss faster and more aggressive, so its a good idea to keep any fires you see doused when you can (unless you're using the teapot). The Splash Kit actually "splashes", so shooting the ground near your friends or near your own feet will keep you cool and out of harms way. I said this earlier, but your deployable water take also heals, so don't be afraid to bust that out in a pinch - especially if there's an ammo station nearby. When you deploy your Water Tank, you can instead fill it with fire using your Altered Teapot, to have it shoot fire everywhere. When fully upgraded, the secondary-fire on the Splash Gun will knock back all but the biggest Hiss; you can take advantage of this at choke points, where you hold enemies there and your teammates blast em Your Charged Water Blast can also stagger enemies, although not as effectively
