Every player in FM24 has a predetermined and generated personality which will give the manager some insight to how the player will act both on and off the field. Player's personality can totally change the way you see that player, both for better or for worse. Personalities are especially important when scouting younger players in terms of evaluating if the player can reach their perceived potential. Player's personality can be seen from the player profile So how does the game calculate player's personality? By 8 different hidden attributes of which's ratings can only be seen by using the in game editor. Just like player's skill attributes these are measured in 1-20 rating system 20 being the maximum. These attributes can also increase and decrease over time, usually as a consequence of successful or failed mentoring. Along with hidden attributes also Determination and Leadership play a part in a player's personality. These two attributes can be seen from player's profile under mental attributes. Each personality has certain thresholds that all attributes have to hit in order for the player to obtain that particular personality. The Hidden Attributes that Determine Player's Personality are: Professionalism Pressure Ambition Important Matches Sportsmanship Temperament Loyalty Controversy I will go through each of these attributes explaining their effects on aspects like player development, on field performances, possible off the field pitfalls, wage demands and so on. One is player's media handling style. Many personalities have very high ranges on hidden attributes some attributes can even be anything from 1 to 20 which is where media handling style step in. Media handling styles give you more information about your player's hidden attributes. For example Model Professional sounds like a great personality, but in itself the only thing that is guaranteed about it is that it has maximum professionalism possible. Rest of the attributes are more or less a mystery and that's not ideal. But if you know that the player's media handling style is say "Evasive" you will have more information to work with. Media Handling Styles act as more information about a player's personality. Many personalities have wide ranges on attributes that are important so knowing a player's media handling style can be very important. Player's media handling style can be found from the player profile under the "information" tab. Player Information Tab I will go through each and every base media handling style so that you can combine this information with the information of their personality which i will go through later. (Player can also have multiple media handling styles in which case the game will use both the highest attributes and lowest attributes from each media handling style and mix them together in a way that you get both the best out and worst out of both worlds.) I will go through the list, tier by tier, personality by personality. Model Citizen ♛ Media Handling Styles Media Handling Style Availability Born Leader Media Handling Styles Media Handling Style Availability This is a tier that contains personalities that are still above average, but not as good as the personalities before. Some of these have notable weaknesses which is why they weren't picked to the previous tier. I expect to get a lot of feedback of this particular tier. Bring it on ;) Iron Willed Media Handling Styles Media Handling Style Availability Resolute Media Handling Styles Media Handling Style Availability This tier is for personalities that are better than average, but not that exciting to have. Honest Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability Very Loyal Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability Devoted Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability This is a tier for personalities which are more or less a dice roll than anything else. They might have one or two prominent attributes while rest are up to fortune. Balanced Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability Fairly Loyal Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability Determined Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability This tier is for personalities who have shortcomings that need mentoring. The goal with these personalities is that over time during the mentoring process these personalities change into some of the better personalities out there. Jovial Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability Low Determination Media Handling Styles Available: Media Handling Style Availability For personalities that are absolutely horrible that i avoid like the plague. If you see these personalities on players of your youth intake, you should be really disappointed.
