Read the in-game manual. It contains essential information. To complete the first story mission against the undead, you need at least 12 units in your army. After that, increase your numbers to 16 as soon as possible. Almost all hand-crafted missions are balanced for a 16-unit army. Keep at least a couple of slots in your roster vacant. Occasionally, powerful units may want to join you, and you’ll need free space to recruit them. Avoid "5-skull" quests. They will likely be too much for you to handle. "4-skull" missions are challenging but doable. In all hand-crafted maps and missions, the enemy composition is fixed; only their level may vary. In random missions, the enemy roster is determined the moment they are generated in town. It scales based on your army's power at that time and remains locked. This means if you pick up a 4-skull mission and then hire several strong units, the mission's difficulty will likely drop to 2 or 3 skulls when you actually play it. Units can earn medals in battle. These rewards are given for various actions: attacking, killing, taking damage, using skills, etc. The more active a unit is, the higher the chance of receiving a medal. No one knows the exact criteria for specific medals. Each unit can have up to three medals, and they cannot be removed or replaced. After a victory, all participating units gain experience proportional to their activity (frequency of attacks, spellcasting, being targeted, etc.). The total XP pool depends on the enemies killed or routed. Experience earned by your units who died or fled the battlefield is lost. Delivery, exploration, or caravan escort quests won't make you rich. Only take them if they are on your way to another destination. Town Relations affect shop prices and mercenary availability. Try to stock up in cities where you are well-liked. Trading for profit is only possible with high Relations. Note that high Relations will slowly decay back down to 50%. The game has many mechanics. You don't need to know them all to enjoy the game. In fact, even the developers forget about some of them while playing. There is a built-in editor. You can use it to create new maps that the game will recognize immediately (no need to start a new game). You can also edit unit stats there. However, stats for units already present in your save won't change, as they are generated at "birth." Editing the main hero is limited, as most of their skills are hardcoded into the game rather than defined in the editor. If you aren't comfortable, don't hesitate to change the difficulty settings. There's no need to suffer; the goal of any game is to provide enjoyment. --- Источник: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3626858456
