It assumes the player has played Seasons 1 and 2 as they are post RISE rather than the original versions of those events . This guide likewise will assume the same. A TLDR of what the NPCs are aware of: You, the new mercenary of the Crimson Blades, vanquished the Gnoll Chieftain, and helped discover Kobolds in Hoarfrost Hollow. You managed to catch the eye of Rocheste's Royal Army and then enter their ranks. You delved deeper into Hoarfrost Hollow to route the Fomorians and fight the Yeti that awoke. You also defeated the Gnolls in Fobellow Prairie and the Ruins. You have now begun your fight against the weak, leaderless forces of the Fomorians at the Fomorian Base. They have no knowledge of your trip to Ainle, they have no recollection of Shining Shakarr or Black Hammer. They have no knowledge of Heide. There is no recollection of the Oracle Tieve, the Commander Keaghan, Captain Gwynn, or a young cadet named Ellis. They have no knowledge of a Kean of the Royal Army, or a young Milo, or an inkeeper named Allyse. In this timeline, where events have been stitched together and rewritten, Season 3 begins. Due to the extreme length of the Episodes, and the limits of the text boxes on steam guides, or for dramatic effect, some of the parts of this guide have been adapted differently than within the game but generally everything will line up as it is in the game. Also, some of the translations within the game right now are broken, or wrong . It honestly isn't awful, but some of it gives conflicting or contradictory interpretations of what is and isn't happening . In these instances, I have either used my (admittedly weak) Korean* or improvised changed dialogue to better fit the narrative that the game seems to be pushing towards . Additionally, some text will be presented as images or videos . Never vitally important text to keep things accessible, but, for extra details, be sure to check those out. This is a VERY long season to read through. I recommend also stopping after "chapters" as the game refers to them, as each one is about as long as the entirety of Season 2. *I was born in Korea, and can read hangul. Unfortunately, being an orphan raised in America has made my vocabulary absolutely rubbish in the language. So any translation I can make is half a guess honestly. Mannanan made the elf Dauna his son and led him on the path of a hero. Dauna was recognized by Fragarach and received the name of the Shining One, Lugh Lamhfada, known all over Erinn. But Shining Lugh could not break free from the shackles of destiny . When the Goddess and the Devil sealed the evil dragon , Mannanan made a promise with the vanishing Shining Lugh . It was the end of everything, and he was the last hero. He spread his wings and made Shining Lugh and Fragarach sleep forever in paradise. Mannanan lost his divinity and became human. Even the last of them, the goddess of strife , fell asleep. The promise and the hero's name were forgotten. The priest chose the path of doom, and the magician chose the path of eternal life. The Oracle closes the book. The illustrations burned into her mind: The Goddess, Morrighan The Evil Dragon, Elchulus, God of the Fomors, and Ruler of Time Mannanan, the god of the seas, and his son, the hero Lugh. There were illustrations a few pages before of the Avatar of the Goddess, Glas Ghaibhleann... There was also reference to a Priest and a Magician She shuts her eyes tightly, The fight to seal Elchulus is what sealed our Goddess, as well as sealed the Hero, and the Goddess of Strife... that must be Macha . What of the Devil? She frowned, the illustration of a dark figure in the book was not familiar to her. Someone is coming. The Oracle quickly tucks the book behind the shelf and hides, as the Pontiff Laurys enters the room. "Burn the books." "I didn't think this would be such a big ceremony. Even Lord Ronaun's supposed to show up." Marrec strains his head over the soldiers gathered at Rocheste Castle to see, his eyes peering through the eyeholes of the helmet he never removes. "Royal subjects, it brings me great joy to stand among the finest the land has to offer on this momentous day! I would like to bring my brother up to speak with you all! May the blessings of the Goddess be with you!" Lord Ronaun steps aside as Riordan , Commander of the Royal Army , takes the platform. "Soldiers. Look around you. Our world is in chaos. Creatures from the depths of shadow threaten our very existence. Apostates and heretics threaten our beliefs. The Fomors seek to tear us asunder, outside and in. They seek to take away our land and our lives. That is why we stand here today. To show them that we will not be trampled. We will not fear them! The Fomors would destroy every one of you to make their paradise. Every last man, woman, and child. But paradise is ours to claim . We will fight the Fomors. And we will take our paradise from their bloodied corpses !" A fierce cry of approval erupts across the crowd. Aodhan frowns, and turns to his Crimson Blade mercenaries : "You," he puts a hand on the Rookie's shoulder, "and Gallagher . I want you two to stay behind and protect Rocheste ." Gallagher immediately complains, but Aodhan will not hear it. "C'mon, lightweight. Let's get to the office before it gets any later..." Gallagher and the Rookie trudge off to the Royal Army Base. Meanwhile, Aodhan and Marrec prepare to head off to battle with Riordan's army to destroy the Fomors at Fobellow Plains . --- " Brakis , are these Riordan's new troops?" Nel exclaims. "No ma'am They're not soldiers, they're mercenaries." the one armed Captain of the Royal Army barracks tells his Commander's wife. "But they still work for Riordan , yes? What did you two think about the speech earlier? Wasn't he amazing? So powerful and commanding." Nel gushes over Riordan . As the two begrudgingly listen to Nel , Brakis returns to his paperwork. What a boring way to spend the- A thundering boom suddenly shakes the room. "What was that?! It came from the port! Go!" Having bested the monster that came from the sea, a few months have passed before the Rookie and Gallagher go to visit it in a dungeon cell. The monster growls but then it stops. It points at the Rookie. "You." it croaks. "Isn't there something only you remember? Something that everyone forgot. There must be a memory that only you have." Nel arrives and asks the Rookie to go get her some yarn for her husband. The Rookie, unnerved, leaves the monster and heads out into Rocheste . "People of Rocheste! Victory is in our hands. Our battle for Fobellow Prairie is won. And we have done it without a single casualty!" A roar of approval bursts from the crowd and Ronaun smiles in triumph. "The Fomors have learned what it means to provoke us. They have learned that we will never back down. They have learned that they will never defeat us! Fobellow Prairie is ours once more! And the Fomors will be wiped from history! For the Goddess!" "FOR MORRIGHAN!" The Rookie goes to pick up Nel's yarn. They return to talk to Gallagher about the news and plop the yarn upon Nel's desk.
