Try one of the two methods below to join a server. For me, the second method (View -> Game Servers) worked perfectly. METHOD 1: Through the In-game Overlay 1. LAUNCH CS Open your Steam Library and launch Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. 2. SHIFT + TAB Once you are in the main menu of the game, press SHIFT + TAB on your keyboard. This will open the Steam Overlay. 3. OPEN THE SERVER BROWSER, PICK A SERVER At the bottom of the Steam Overlay, click on the globe/internet icon to open the Server Browser. Find a community server you want to play on and simply connect. 4. JUST ENJOY THE GAME Once you connect through the overlay, just wait for the map to load. Note: If you have a custom server IP, you can add it directly to your Favorites in the Shift+Tab Server Browser and connect from there. Joining directly from the in-game console does not work! METHOD 2: Through the Steam Client (This one worked for me) 1. OPEN GAME SERVERS In the main Steam window, click on View at the very top, then select Game Servers . 2. SELECT CS:GO AND JOIN Select Counter-Strike: Global Offensive from the dropdown game list and join a chosen server directly from the displayed list in the "Internet" tab.
