I picked up this little gem on sale for around $3. Bargain of the century ! Amazing game, a complete mystery at purchase. Trailer looked cool and at 90% off, why not take a chance. And I am glad I did. The story follows an origami figure that can fold into other creatures, which gives certain powers to overcome certain obstacles. Premise is simple though genius and charming. The game is a linear platform but not 2D, you can move to about in all directions though limited. Graphics are beautiful and sound track is fantastic. The game rolls along at a nice pace, some puzzles were hard enough to be frustrating but not impossible to solve. The end boss fight was so much fun and the achievement "Pure Skill" to kill the end boss without dying was so satisfying to pop. Overall a very fun and wholesome experience. Kid friendly, though maybe played with an adult as the skill level may be too much without some parental guidance. Achievement Hunters. Most achievements are easy with a few tricky ones. But if you persevere you shouldn't have a problem at all. Difficulty 4/10, maybe....?

本来前面的体验感还不错 是一个不错的治愈游戏 但是缺点很多 没有中文连成就也不显示中文 boss的招数很没意思 就是为了恶心人去的 游戏视角很变扭尤其走木板和跳跳乐时视角很容易掉落 体验最差的就是dlc最后章节boss你弄那么多回合做什么 死了又得从头开始 很容易使人心态崩溃玩不下去的感觉 总是在拖游戏时长 反正要是以轻松愉快的心情去玩的人不值得推荐去玩

A Tale of Paper: Refolded ist wieder einmal ein weiteressehr gelungenes Indie Game. Mit dem Style und der Grafik erinnert es direkt an Littlenightmares, was ich als sehr Positiv entfinde. Ich bin ohne jegliches Hintergrundwissen and dieses Spiel heran gegangen und war sofort hin und weg. Vom Artstyle, dem Soundtrack bis hin zum Level Design sitzt einfach alles. Auch kleine Bosskämpfe sind zu erwarten. Die Idee mit dem Papier und dass man sich in verschiedene Formen verwandeln kann ist einfach nur genial. Mir hat es sehr viel spass gemacht mit den verschiedenen Formen durch die Level zu gehen. Spannend ist auch, dass die Story viel offen lässt zum selber interpretieren. Für ein kurzes Spiel welches aber mit solcher Liebe gemacht worden ist, finde ich den Preis mehr als Fair. Emfpehlung für jeden welcher Games wie Little Nightmares etc. mag.

Well, the game was alright. For what seems to be the first project by these people, it’s pretty well made. Ran well on my devices, no glitches in the base game, it was pretty fun. However, it is very short. I did get it on sale for $2, but I would not call it worth $20 for about 3-4 hours of gameplay max. On top of that the boss in the “Melody” part of the game is incredibly janky, and once I figured out what I was supposed to do, the game would constantly stop and get me stuck in the second phase forever. I tried multiple fixes and it ended up pissing me off enough to return it, despite the base game being pretty fun. Can’t say I would 100% recommend this game. Maybe a couple updates down the line could change my mind.

A Tale of Paper pleasantly surprised me. The game stands out with its beautiful, hand-drawn art style and lovingly designed environments. The idea of transforming into different paper shapes and using their unique abilities makes the gameplay varied and keeps the puzzles interesting. I especially enjoyed the calm, emotional atmosphere and the creative world design. The game is relatively short, but that actually makes it a charming experience that you can easily play through in one sitting. If you enjoy creative platformers with puzzles, a unique atmosphere, and a lot of charm, I can definitely recommend A Tale of Paper. It’s a small but very enjoyable gaming experience!

This is a beautiful 3d puzzle-platformer where the environment scrolls horizontally left and right. and more rarely towards the back and front. I mean that you're not always stuck on the same 2d plane, like in standard 2d platformers, and that you don't control the camera as you want, as you do in most 3D platformers. But I didn't miss that. It made me think of Little Nighmares with the perspective, the graphics and the puzzles, but without the horror elements. Except for the big spider pursuing you at some point that is. ;-) Your paper character is the size of a doll in detailed real-world environments. Not as great looking as Little Nightmares but still very good. I thought the places with model planets were particularly nice. The puzzles were logical and enjoyable except the last one with the trumpets. If you're tone deaf, check a guide. I'm not and I still had to check it for the third part when I got too frustrated. I enjoyed the transformations into different paper forms although the initial ones were very limited. For example, the frog only jumped high and the ball only rolled in red tubes. not by itself. I particularly liked the kind of spinning Chinese funeral lantern (what is it?) that floated up high and down more slowly. The game might look casual and easy, but the platforming and timed sections could get a bit challenging. Just right for for me, though. The soundtrack was delightful with a children choir at some point and a strong Tim Burton vibe in the expansion. I'm not sure exactly what was happening, but the ends (three of them) were beautiful and somewhat touching. Main campaign was around 2 hours and the expansion (three prequel chapters) is around an hour and change. Longer if you get stuck on the trumpets puzzle (like I did) or the final and only boss fight. The regular price might be a bit expensive, but it was a lovely experience.
