A complete failure from a "historical" game publisher. It is deeply ironic that a company profiting from history games has moderators who lack basic historical knowledge. Banning users for using the profile picture of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk—the founder of modern Turkey, recognized globally for his message "Peace at Home, Peace in the World"—is a direct insult to the Turkish community. I cannot support a company that tolerates racism and xenophobia.

I am extremely disappointed with Paradox Interactive's attitude regarding Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. In my opinion, the way this subject has been handled shows a racist and deeply disrespectful attitude toward Turkish people and an important historical figure for Türkiye. Whatever the context, I do not believe this kind of approach is acceptable from an international game company. Because of this, I have lost respect for Paradox Interactive and I cannot support their games in good conscience. This negative review reflects my personal reaction to what I consider to be racist and discriminatory behavior.

Do yourselves a favor and clean up your community team. Hiring power-tripping, uneducated Discord mods who ban Turkish players just for honoring MUSTAFA KEMAL ATATÜRK, the great founder and leader of modern Turkey, in their profile pictures is an absolute disgrace. Fire those mods and learn basic respect. Absolute failure on every level.

It's a fun game. I wouldn't have bothered with recommending it since AOW4 is out and subjectively better. Since people want to review bomb this game over some idiotic sh*t, I had to do it.

No Turkish language support. In a strategy game with this many menus, descriptions, quests, mechanics, units, and abilities, the lack of Turkish language support is a major drawback. Having to constantly deal with English text just to understand what is happening seriously reduces the enjoyment of the game. What makes it worse is that the game was released in 2014 and still doesn't have Turkish language support. The gameplay itself is also disappointing. The strategy aspect may seem interesting at first, but the battles quickly become repetitive and tedious. There are many units and abilities, but having more options doesn't necessarily make the gameplay more enjoyable. After a while, it starts to feel like you're doing the same things over and over again. The combat can also feel unnecessarily complicated without being particularly rewarding. Instead of focusing on strategy, I often found myself trying to understand confusing mechanics and figuring out what the game actually expects me to do. The progression doesn't help much either. The game takes a lot of time to get going, but the payoff isn't satisfying enough to justify the amount of effort required. What should be an engaging strategy experience eventually turns into a repetitive and frustrating grind. The game also does a poor job of explaining its mechanics to new players. There is a lot to learn, but the game doesn't make that learning process enjoyable. You are often left figuring things out through trial and error. Overall, I found the game unnecessarily complicated, repetitive, and frustrating. The lack of Turkish language support makes the experience even worse for Turkish players. I absolutely do not recommend this game. We are the soldiers of Atatürk.
