I used to think that I've grown out of video games, don't find video games fun anymore and that there is just clear lack of creativity or innovation. WRONG on all counts New Blood has proven yet again that video games just need to be fun and THAT'S ALL. Amid Evil is simplistic in nature just like the classic video games from 90s and 2000s era. This is what we've been missing all this time FUN, just fun. I'm not exaggerating when I say this is a breath of fresh air in the gaming industry. Innovation and creativity are a good thing but never lose sight of what really matters, again its fun that's what we lack in modern slop which is more about DEI and woke cringe sh!t rather than video games themselves. AAA slop can never ever compete with this. With that out of the way I must also add Amid Evil borrows heavily from classics like Quake, Heretic/ Hexen and even Half-Life. You can tell this was made by people like us who are passionate about video games and enjoy them rather than people who hate video games altogether. I've been playing video games for like 24 years at this point or possibly more and I've felt this is the culmination of all my past experiences. Kudos to New Blood for yet another masterpiece. If it wasn't obvious by this point what I think about Amid Evil then I definitely recommend it. 10/10

I replayed this game and its DLC, the level design is the best i have ever seen in games.

a solid boomer shooter with some truly beautiful level art. And a level that I'm 99% is a reference to the opening of diakatana? Which is cool if its true.

good doomlike/boomer shooter with good art and it looks really nice with DX12 RTX mode. the nonlinear progression through the hub is really cool and each weapon serves a purpose so the game is very fun. the only standout negative is that there are a lot platforming sections that are pretty awful. i know some levels with mazelike progression and keys is a staple of this genre, but the platforming just feels bad in this game. otherwise its really nice though, definitely worth playing if u like these type of games :)

My favourite boomer shooter of all time. Just flows fantastically and is remarkably varied. Fantastic Steam Deck performance as a bonus.

I found the moment to moment gameplay to be a bit dry. Compared to something like Blood or Post Void, this one feels slow by comparison, and none of the weapons in your arsenal ever feel satisfying. Level design I could also do without so much platforming in my boomer shooter.

A quality New Blood boomshoot with brilliant music, gorgeous art direction, and most importantly of all: quality movement shooter gameplay. Less hectic than Doom 2016, less cutthroat than Blood, and more cerebral than Dusk. Closer to Quake than anything I've played, except enemies die in a reasonable amount of time. 9/10
