Besides being a hidden one in this game, this game is also a hidden gem. I tried this game back in 2023 when it came out, but i stopped playing after a few hours and never touched it again. I decided to pick it up again by buying it during the Steam sale (yes i bought it again because my OCD wants all my games on Steam lol). Anyways, i realized that i never really gave this game a chance. And now, 6 days later with 34 hours of playing time, i have this game platinum lol. In my opinion, this game is really overhated by many. Its actually a lot more fun than haters say. Lets dive in the pro's and the con's; Because a glass is always half full, lets start with the positive side; the pro's; - Back to the roots (kinda); having the feeling again that you are a true assassin, with dope assassin robe; Basim - The environment/city where it takes place is beautiful and crowded; Baghdad (and Alula in the DLC) - The infrastructure is quite narrow so parkour is easy to use wherever you are, just like the good old times in older AC's. - Not the typical RPG style from Odyssey, Valhalla and Origins; also not as large as those AC's - those maps are insanely large and bloated. Far too big. - Dope cosmetics - Assassination focus (in my opinion something refreshing and really helpful in some situations and its completely optional to use - the game never forces you to use it, so you can decide your own playstyle) - The main story is decent - Stealth is really fun and very well optimized - Lovely tools to use which are really helpfull in a lot of missions and contracts; you can also upgrade them - A simple, but effective skill tree - Its basically an old school AC with improved mechanics, depth and graphics. Other AC's like Unity or older just feel too outdated to play and arent optimized at all. But every game has their downsides, the con's; - Basim, the main character, is quite boring. We first see him in AC Valhalla as a side/main character, but he is much cooler, more mysterious and more interesting in AC Valhalla than in AC Mirage. He has lost all of his aura in AC Mirage - heck, sometimes i even forget that im playing as Basim, he is a total different person and doesnt even look like his older version in the slightest (also physically). - The parkour is inconsistent - sometimes its smooth, but sometimes its a complete mess and very clunky - Lack of assassination animations - there are like 3 different animations, and in a game like this; you assassinate A LOT of people - so it becomes really bland and boring assassination wise seeing the same animations over and over again. - The combat is also not good; stealth, like written above in the pro's, is good - but the 1 on 1 combat is just bad. Its really clunky. You also cant assassin-chain at all and you cant parry or dodge while in an assassination animation which causes the enemy to be able to damage you while you are in an animation lol. Its as if the game indirectly forces you to use stealth 24/7. In my opinion; the good definitely outweighs the bad and i recommend this game to anyone who loves a smaller, more simplistic AC without the RPG aspect and with more focus on stealth. This game really deserves more flowers; the hate is 100% exaggerated, but hey; everyone is entitled to their opinion i guess. And also; this game was supposed to be a DLC for AC Valhalla in the first place, so that explains why sometimes it doesnt feel like a complete and well-polished game. I would rate this game a 7,8 out of 10 - enjoy playing :)

When seeing the reviews for this game I was a bit scared to try it but I still did and luckily I actually enjoyed it a lot. Mirage is a short but good game all though I definitely wish it was longer because I did really like it. The combat and parkour could've been better but it was decent enough. W ubisoft for adding a free dlc. If you like assassin's creed you should still give this game a try!

Bom jogo.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a good game. Not a great game, but a good one. Baghdad serves as a brilliant return to classic AC style cities and the stealth is some of the best in the entire series, but too many elements hold it back from being as good as it could be. To start off with what I like about this game, again Baghdad is simply a brilliant city for an Assassin's Creed game and it's really well re-created in this game. The atmosphere of the busy streets, bazaars, and quiet wilderness are simply amazing. Parkouring across the rooftops of Baghdad, stealthily killing guards and blending into the crowd on street level while hearing the calls to prayer echo throughout the city felt like vintage AC. Speaking of the stealth, it's some of the best in the series. Basim's toolset brings back some classics like the smoke bombs and reworked versions of the noise bombs and blow darts, as well as incredibly overpowered throwing knifes. Enemy AI is tuned pretty well to where I don't feel they're stupid but also don't get frustrated at how easily they spot me. Missions are also built around stealth and the black box missions are FINALLY back, and are by far the best parts of the game. I also do genuinely enjoy the mission format of this game. The investigation board is an interesting evolution of the Cult of the Kosmos/Order of the Ancients target board from Odyssey and Valhalla. Being sent to evaluate and kill different targets around the city and reporting your findings back to the Bureaus feels VERY Assassin's Creed 1 coded, which I really like. Smaller missions lead up to the excellent black box missions which are a great reward and a joy to play through with the game's aforementioned excellent stealth system. Now, for the bad. Most of my issues with this game stem from the fact that this was originally conceptualized as a DLC for Valhalla, and that games influence remains heavily in this game. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED Valhalla. I rated it a 9/10, but it's a very different style of Assassin's Creed than what Mirage is trying to replicate. Valhalla's influence on this game feels out of place and clunky in a city and mission format that's just BEGGING for AC Revelations style movement and combat. Many parkour and stealth elements are ripped straight out of Valhalla as well not to mention the myriad of re-used assets and animations. This leads to Mirage's parkour not feeling quite as good as I wanted it to. Evior's movement was purposly slower and heavier because he was a damn viking, but Basim is a very slim and nimble man, which would lead me to believe his parkour would be fast and smooth. Unfortunately his parkour feels near identical to Eivor's, just with a city that far better suits parkour. The combat here is also just god awful. We went from the best combat and finisher animations in the series with Valhalla to the worst combat and finishers with Mirage. The combat is simply dreadful and I actively avoided engaging with it and opted to use the far more fun stealth systems instead. Mirage's story up until the end is also just a wet fart. Bahgdad's Order of the Ancients feel so weak and powerless, and we never really get a main antagonist. The cutscenes are more wooden and poorly animated than ever, and the story never really attempts to make us care about the characters around us, even Basim who was one of my favorite characters in the franchise in Valhalla. This game also COMPLETELY gets rid of the modern day story which is such a damn shame after Valhalla's excellent modern day segments. This was the perfect opportunity to build upon Basim's character and introduce the next modern day protagonist to continue that storyline, but it just completely ditches everything the past 3 games were building towards. Overall, Mirage is a good game, but one that has a lot of missed potential. I enjoy it as a nostalgic trip back to older style AC gameplay, but it also highlights that a lot of work will need to be done to replicate the gameplay of the older games. The RPG games are successful in doing their own thing, but when you put these mechanics into an older style Assassin's Creed game, it just kinda doesn't work. With more time and attention in development, as well as a better story, this game could've been a lot better. The final product just serves as a fun little side game and a disappointing look into Basim's past. 7/10
