it alright its a perfectly ok game, nothing groundbreaking but the game is fun/interesting enough to warrant the price of admission along with being remarkably short i really expected the game to be a bit more mechanically in depth given its clearly inspired by old zelda games, and at times it can be painfully scripted even if it isnt necessary for the story the boss encounter is a noticeable difficulty spike, it only took me 2 attempts but when the rest of the game requires you to go out of your way to lose it feels quite jarring, a mechanically fun fight though the story is cute, albeit rather predictable, you'll be able to see what's coming from a mile off and it isn't subtle about it. i do think that using flight of the bumblebee for when bee starts walking again is a thematic high for the game, even if i believe it could have been done under more applicable circumstances. it makes more sense during the game's 2nd playthrough. speaking of, i dont quite understand the game's 2nd playthrough, from a narrative perspective. i'm really not sure how it fits into the theme of the game and it makes it feel like they were some meta narrative aspects left undeveloped. it is also confusing how it is the "reward" for getting the "good" ending of the first playthrough, yet the password is given to you upon getting to the 2nd level and the game isnt subtle about it. this lead to me unlocking it right there and then, way before i should have. i just assumed the game was giving me some secret lore cutscene for paying attention, but i was incredibly confused seeing "part 2" pop up, with it acting as some good timeline alternate scenario. the joke about passwords is cute, but at the expense of this narrative confusion it wasn't worth it overall its a harmless little game, its perfectly fine but could have been done a bit better. decent idea thats ripe for storytelling, but we dont get enough time to really explore it in a convincingly emotional way, but for what its trying to tell and what it does in its incredibly short runtime it suffices 6/10

"it jelly bean!!!" 💖💖🖤 🟩 excellent presentation 🔷 weird pacing 🔴 bit saccharine, some awkward music choices vibes: bittersweet loops: story adventure game, with some minor puzzles states: finished all 4 endings, 100% ramblings: this is a really good adventure, has some great cute classic pixel presentation, nice aesthetic. good atmosphere. extremely charming overall.  · good music, barring a questionable choice or two with public domain music that kinda ruined one of the scenes for me. using flight of the bumblebee for a deathly serious chase scene... what? otherwise all the music was rather well done.  · bit of a weird difficulty spike for the final boss, nothing really that super difficult, just felt off compared to all the rest of the game. the boss fight itself however was a very cool sequence and well done.  · leaned a bit heavy and long on cutscenes at times, which is annoying on replays because there was no way to skip them, though there is a way to skip text.  · the narrative conceit of the "part 2" feels, well, very weak. it's just sort of something that happens, with no real in-universe reason. the fact that it hints at it near the very start and that you can then skip to it way early is also really confusing. as if it were a different game mode rather than a deliberate continuation of the narrative. maybe there were intended to be more meta aspects, but as it is it just feels mechanical and artificial and doesn't tie well into the story.  · though the story was very enjoyable. i thought some of it to be just a little too twee at times, bee in particular, but it never got to a point i found excessive. i really really liked the endings, they pretty much all nailed it. the final ending in particular i thought really good, a wonderful conclusion, like made me tear up kind of great. verdicts: highly recommended, its a pretty great game scores: 🐝 out of 💮 on 🖥️ https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3788096107

Très bon jeu sur (presque) tous les aspects (à pars les contrôles qui sont trop éloignés les uns des autres à mon avis): Musique 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 Puzzles 10/10 Ecriture 10/10 Combat 8/10

Short and sweet game that I enjoyed a lot! A lot of the emotional mechanisms of this work comes from a similar place from works like Undertale (which I know this dev hasn't shied away from) with the lovely ways it intertwines gameplay and plot elements. Without getting too into the weeds, I think it's a charming game well worth the cheap pricetag. If you're looking at the game thinking it's something you might like, I'd say you probably already have a good idea on what you're looking for and Beghost will probably fit nicely into that vein of expectation. There's very little worth criticizing in my eye. The writing's good and expressive, and you'll have a nice evening ahead of you!

Great game! I didn't expect much going in, but it has an interesting plot and uses the gameplay to tell a compelling story. I definitely recommend to story lovers.

Beghost is a beautiful game with a nice, character-driven story. It's first and foremost a visual novel, but the zeldalike elements give just enough of a change of pace, interactivity, and sense of a journey to elevate the story. Don't go in expecting the zeldalike portions to be super innovative or action-packed. That's not what this game is about. It definitely recalls Undertale with its old school graphics and deep story. Anyway, it's absolutely worth a few bucks and a few hours of your time. The dev did an awesome job here.
