Considering that this was created mainly by one guy, if I was a game dev recruiter I would snap the fella up. A 2-D space adventure that has the vibes of Beyond Good & Evil and Flashback, with a smattering of simple but fun turn based battling. it is more than the sum of its parts. The story is by turns comedic and epic, with the protagonist (and his hamster) transported to a synthetic solar system, called Galaxyland, created by a galactic corporation just before the earth is destroyed by something called The End, where different alien survivors live together in peace. Felt compelled to see the story through and enjoyed it in a 'sat in front of my SNES in the early nineties' kind of way. I would say if you can get it for £10 or under that would be the sweet spot for value vs fun.

First thing if you play a JRPG style game for 20 minutes and leave it a review...this isnt the genre for you... This game is impressive and while its not a 10/10 its a solid 7 or 7.5. This game deserves praise as it does alot of things right. PROS: Simple but unique combat Banger Soundtrack Awesome Pixel Art Story keeps you interested enough with enough hooks to want to see what will happen next. Supporting cast is very lovable Fun mini game segments CONS: This is clearly not a massive project it stays a bit simple, but to its guns There isnt super in depth story or lore (again not expected) Main character is a bit bland Alright not going anymore in depth. Give it a shot if you like JRPGs.

Very fun game! Great art, both drawn and pixel, and fun mechanics. Looking for a turn-based RPG with a photography mini-game across the entire play time and monster capturing for your summons? Sci-fi with implications that lean on the fourth wall? Unknowable eldritch-esque beings? Neat aliens? Check it out!

Amazing Indie game made with lots of passion. I am completley new to this type of genre and I had a blast! It has fun engaging combat, amazing visuals and story and it didn't drag on forever. 100% worth the price!

It is rare for a game to manage to evoke such a particular feeling: that of living a true adventure. Beyond Galaxyland achieves this with an almost childlike generosity, as if we had just opened a children's novel in which every page conceals yet another world waiting to be discovered. Behind its absolutely remarkable pixel art, which blends elegantly with 3D sequences, lies a surprisingly rich universe. The cities teem with extraterrestrial creatures, while the planets sometimes appear modest at first glance, only to reveal their hidden corners to those who take the time to explore them. There is something of Star Wars in this gallery of worlds and species, along with that pleasant sense of freedom that urges us to go and see what lies beyond the horizon. And what can I say about the turn-based combat? It offers just enough depth to build a genuine team, make use of skills, items, and above all, summons, which will happily remind players of the great days of Final Fantasy. A mechanic that brought me a great deal of enjoyment throughout the adventure. The story, deliberately classic, never attempts to revolutionize the genre. It is simply well written, light-hearted when necessary, and serious enough to give the journey some depth. The side quests pleasantly enrich the lore, while a few twists remind us that adventure is not always where we expect to find it. But what I will remember most are the moments spent exploring, capturing creatures, and photographing this wonderfully vibrant universe. And then there is Bom-Bom. Honestly, who could fail to grow attached to this dear hamster? Beyond Galaxyland offered me a generous, funny, and deeply endearing adventure. I spent some magical moments travelling through this galaxy, all the way to the pleasure of taking on the challenge of completing it 100%. A huge congratulations to the developer for this monumental piece of work. Now, all I can do is hope for a sequel.

This game blew my away - definitely an unexpected gem. The story was excellent if a little short, but with the side quests you can probably get another few hours out of it. The soud track was great too, very surprised how good it was. Who knew trap/fantasy/sci fi worked so well! The combat system reminded me a little of Final Fantasy 8s GF system where you equip up to 4 creatures you capture as summanable with abilities. Really fun, simple to pick up and can get somewhat complex with group dynamics and summons later on.
