As a disabled vet who suffers from PTSD, I love these sorting type games. It helps with my anxiety and also helps me relax. You'll see from my profile that I have played multiple styles of these games and this is by far the best. I truly enjoyed it but I must confess, why would you stock more bottles of wine than MRE's? lol

I had to tidy my apartment, so obviously I bought this game instead and spent 8 hours cleaning a virtual bunker.

The biggest strength this game has is that it understands players want to organize, not simply follow a checklist. Items can be arranged freely within their designated shelf sections rather than being locked into rigid, predetermined slots. That freedom makes stocking shelves feel more natural and allows you to organize spaces in a way that makes sense to you instead of memorizing a single correct answer. Unfortunately, that freedom isn't enough to overcome the game's biggest problem: the extreme reliance on duplicate items. The store page advertises more than 17,437 items, which initially sounds like an impressive amount of content. In practice, however, there are only around 130 unique items. The rest are duplicates, with individual item counts ranging anywhere from a handful of copies to several hundred of the exact same object. As a result, the game quickly stops feeling like you're discovering and sorting a large collection. Instead, it starts feeling like you're repeatedly stocking the same items over and over again. Some duplicates appear in reasonable quantities, but the majority are repeated well beyond what feels necessary. When an organizing game is built around item variety and categorization, that level of repetition eventually wears thin. The progression system makes the issue even more noticeable. Skill points are awarded only after fully completing shelves, and many shelves require sorting enormous quantities of duplicate items before any progress is rewarded. Early upgrades therefore arrive much slower than they should, making the opening hours feel sluggish. Rather than receiving frequent incentives to keep going, you're often staring at a massive pile of duplicates and a progress bar that barely moves. The soundtrack is decent enough while it is playing, but the transitions between tracks are rough. Individual songs fit the atmosphere, yet the abrupt changeovers can be distracting and occasionally pull you out of the otherwise relaxing mood. What ultimately hurts the experience for me is that the game stretches a relatively small amount of variety across an enormous amount of work. The freeform shelving system is genuinely enjoyable and gives players meaningful organizational freedom, but the heavy duplicate padding and slow progression prevent that strength from carrying the experience. There are some good ideas here, and the core organizing mechanics have potential. However, the balance between unique content, repetition, and progression feels off. By the end, I spent less time discovering new items and more time moving hundreds of copies of objects I had already seen countless times before. For that reason, I can't recommend it.

"Our expectations were low but Holy F***": The Game. Like many here, I had a great time with "Librarian: Tidy up the Arcane Library", and like others, I also groan audibly every time I see a game published by PlayWay, because there's an incredibly high chance it's going to be a low-effort, overall poor quality game regardless of the developers behind them. But for this game, I said "Come on, the formula behind this genre is stupidly easy, there's no way they can't mess it up THAT badly". Well, I'm here to tell you that yes, they absolutely can mess it up. The Achilles' heel of this game is the insistence of having categories that require objects in the literal hundreds to fill (The worst offenders requiring 500-600+ of them), which not only is tedium redefined, but also makes the game completely reliant on the abilities from the mid-game onwards. So we transition from actually looking for objects and placing them in their respective areas to just waiting for the ability cooldown to reset over and over; which is the exact opposite of engaging gameplay. And while you could level the same accusation at L:TAL, the overall amount of items and categories made it so that you could play without using any magical abilities at all (And the game accounted for this). Here, doing it without using the abilities is just pure misery. The notion of having skill points and skills is interesting at a first glance, except many of them are either things that should be basic QoL features (The ability to compact identical items into stacks/Being able to load multiple items by holding the mouse button) or are only useful at the very beginning of the game (Highlighting items of the same type/Highlighting the shelf in which those items go) While I'm certainly not playing the game for the story, there was at least an attempt in L:TAL to give an explanation of as to why we're doing what we're doing. Here, we have no idea why we are in this bunker, and the only thing besides placing items on the shelves is collecting some duck figures that are just hidden underneath the item piles (So you'll find them all anyway just by going about the game). Overall, a pretty disappointing experience. Try any of the other games that are trying to riff on the L:TAL formula and don't bother with this one.

Very lazy, trend-chasing sort-slop. Finished the game in 6 hours 48 minutes. The progression system is awful, about a third of a way through you run out of any meaningful upgrades, halfway through you've maxed out everything. There is no story telling at all, making the world feel very dead, there are some papers on some desks, monitors, all meaningless, and then the ending - extremely anticlimactic and lazy. Music while sort of fitting the theme, doesn't suit this kind of a game at all. And worst of all - when you are done tidying up, which is the whole point of the game there are still scattered pieces of paper all over the floor you can't pick up. All in all I got an impression that this game was made by people who don't understand why people play these kinds of games, under a tight deadline.
