Вот что требуется в любви - ответственности Эта поистине уникальная игра, что сразу со своей обложки может заявить в себе необычный тон. Да и даже само начало игры, даёт тебе в комнату огромного слона что заявляет что он обычная шутка, и с данной шуткой ты пройдешь всю игру. Повествование в двух словах - мужчина который изменяет, проклят. И проклят здесь герой и физически, и психически. Так как в каждом из восьми дней что он переживает, он будет отчаянно бороться за жизнь. У героя всё плохо, его Кэтрин - скорей всего получит от него ребёнка в скором времени, а в одной из посиделок в баре как в настоящей сказке он встречается со своим идеалом женщины - Катрин. По воле не своей, он оказывается окутан в измену. Вся его борьба имеет два разных противостояния - борьба с той, которой он не может найти будущее, ведь сам не хочет ведь ему дороже дружба чем брак, или с той где она счастлива, но он опять же нет. А если сразу обоих утеряет - то и смысл жизни тоже. И весь игровой процесс хорошо, нет даже прекрасно ложиться на повествование. Ведь основной геймплей заключается в том, чтобы взбираться вверх, как и мышление героя тоже подымается(клянусь, не деградирует как и я сам). И прям выскажусь с восторгом, что игра выполняет свою работу игры великолепно. Я не часто чувствую настоящие эмоции от прохождения чего либо, особенно если исключить конец игры с финальным боссом как это часто бывает. Вся игра просто кипела в моей крови, чуть ли не поглощала меня и я сам же от того наслаждался. Точек кипения было много - то я не осознавал, как вообще идти дальше, то вообще не воспринимал окружение(освоился только к половине игры, а то что ее можно перематывать с помощью Tab узнал в конце, прикол). И игра может даже удивлять ситуациями иногда, и добавлять новые механики особенно если смотреть на чисто внешний вид блоков что ты тягаешь и взбираешься. После напряжёнок в Кошмарах, ведь эти этапы будут происходить только там, начинается в чистом виде Persona - но не романсить тостеры да помогать с друзьям, а выпивать с друзьями пива да виски и разговаривать на тему того, какие мы все олухи. Из занятий также разговоры с крайними посетителями, что тоже имеют вес в истории, так как вся общая проблема у персонажей - отношения, независимо от их состояния в обществе, финансов, все они страдают от одной проблемы. Все это происходит в баре, где и проводишь чуть ли ни всю оставшееся вторую половину игры. Также из функционала - переписки, но тут только два важных фактора - наши возлюбленные. От вашего выбора в своих сообщениях адресованных им, будет зависеть концовка. Да и вообще тут есть ранг, который меняется от каждого вашего выбора. В компании друзей Винсента можно найти людей по разным интересам - первый мужлан, второй гомик скорей всего, третий влюбился в официантку. У каждого своя не удача, кто-то получает счастье от любви, а кто-то нет. Игра про секс и депрессию - а нам то что? Прогресс. Винсент и есть игрок(например как Райден в MGS2). Я советую поступать в этой игре, как ты бы сам сделал, не из принятых решений обществом, а то что ты выберешь сам. Потому в игре и более восьми концовок. На протяжении всей игры, мы видим однозначный прогресс нас самих в освоении геймплея, так и чувств игры. Взбираешься ты - подымается и ответственность героя. Впоследствии, он пытается преодолевать проблемы не только в одиночку, но и с напарником - ключевое, что и мешало его отношениям. Спойлеры! Я достал нормальную любовную концовку, и готов сказать что она лучшая. После всех кошмаров наконец живёт с Кэтрин вместе, что и мешало их физиономиям сблизиться(ведь если что, они 5 лет встречались). Весь этап их совместной жизни начался правильно, то как не бывает только в сказках. Я счастлив такому концу. Также хочу добавить своё высказывание(не то, что надо больше игр про кризис брака как Silent Hill 2 тот же, хотя не помешало бы) а то, что нужно больше таких игр виде экспериментов от Atlus. Что независимо от Shin Megam Tensei, и даже не JRPG. И я даже еще помню один такой проект, что тоже сделали для изучения новых технологий - Maken X. Необыкновенная игра, что не отличается ни прописанным сюжетом, ни великолепным геймплеем. Но, данные игры разбавляют людей, ну если нет то точно меня. И ведь даже сейчас - у них огромная репутация, у них есть Metaphor - но я как то не считаю это что-то абсолютно новым, а обычным переосмыслением и мелким отступом от пути. Но вместо этого, мы видим никому не нужный Ремейк четверки, который ей не нужен был как тройке. Плюс ещё и за бешенный фулпрайс. Не надо - дайте старое, но новое. И даже я готов утвердить то, что постановка и кат-сцены в Catherine куда проработаны чем у Persona 3 Reload(и тут даже не работает логика в том, что П3Р дольше, ведь нормальных кат-сцен без обыкновенных ассетов очень мало там). Вывод - надо, всем надо и каждому советую. Ведь 10 часов в этой игре как маленький миг, который ты запомнишь хоть он и был так мал. Огромную страсть к этой игре я заявил вполне в моём мнение. Визуальный шедевр, эти необычайные эмоции никак не купить и не продать, как и опыт от всех игр Atlus. Общая оценка - 9/10

I was gonna write a review after I 100%'d it, but given the achievements, that's gonna take me a long time, so here is my review at 53 hours of gameplay and 31 achievements out of 50 (I have been playing the game everyday for 9 days) note: I have only gotten 2 endings out of 8 (the ones I got were the True Lover ending and the Normal Cheater ending, it's 4:49 A.M so I will get the rest tomorrow lol) - Graphics: the game runs surprisingly well even though my laptop is incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and can't run most games, though, I do have everything on the lowest possible but even on the lowest settings it's still very enjoyable as expected of an Atlus game - Story: I'm not gonna go into detail about what the story follows, but it is essentially about feelings of being chained down or having things decided for you, it's about straightening yourself out for the people you love, the consequences of cheating and stringing people along, all of that. Lots of other mature themes too. What I liked especially is having a glimpse into the other characters' lives, too. I like how morally grey all of it is, really, it's an interesting premise. Some parts were also kind of insane to me but that's what makes it most interesting LOL - Gameplay: TERRIBLE. HORRIBLE. MISERABLE. Nah I'm kind of jk, it's not for the weak though. "It's a block climbing game" EVEN THE EASY MODE IS HARD. Getting accustomed to it and getting gold on all of the stages on normal took me FOREVER. When I close my eyes, all I see is Vincent making pathways to CLIMB UP THE BLOCKS. But even though it's so hard it's also kind of addicting, it's like I can't do anything else, the Babel is HORRID, I have no idea how I'm gonna get the achievements related to it (I'm probs gonna hit over 100 hours until I get them...) Something I would've really liked, though, is having a backlog, because sometimes I skip over dialogue by accident and not having a backlog for that has been very hassling, also some things go on for soooo long I wish I could just skip them, like when you fail a stage and don't retry, that ♥♥♥♥ takes FOREVERR And ♥♥♥♥ the Katherine escort stage, I swear it's the most annoying stage of all time, I love Katherine so much but that stage had me FUMING. Not even the last stages were this terrible Something that also interests me regarding the story is the fact Vincent is being painted as a cheater even though Catherine was forcing herself on him? I guess part of it is because he didn't tell her he has a gf and said she was his type and whatever, but I feel like you don't really process the fact he's a victim And I dislike the casual transphobia to Erica but what can we do... it's a bit of an oldie Overall, good game, I'd give it a rating of 8.5/10, I enjoyed it a lot and I've been harassing my friends with it too

Bleib deiner Katherine mit „K“ treu, sei nicht jeden Abend in der Bar, trinke nicht soviel, sei ein vorbildlicher Freund, sei immer hilfsbereit und lass dich bloß nicht von Catherine mit „C“ verführen. Sonst wirst du jede Nacht im Traum als schwarzes Schaf um Leben und Tod kämpfen. Das hätte unser Protagonist Vincent auch gern gewusst, denn er hat sich an diese Punkte nicht gehalten. Jetzt muss er sich den Fragen im Beichtstuhl stellen und zusehen das er unversehrt zur Spitze (Ende) gelangt. Das Spiel ist sehr viel tiefgründiger als gedacht und das Gameplay mit dem verschieben der Blöcke auf Zeit und daraus resultierende Flucht vor Alptraum Monster erfrischend, manchmal frustrierend aber doch spaßig. Geschick und schnelles Handeln sind gefragt. Dabei gibt es auch ein bisschen Persona Vibes, klar ist ja von ATLUS.

I'm unlikely to ever experience a game like Catherine again. The premise is so bizarre and unique, calling into question how someone can write a story like this, let alone do so successfully. Just for the novelty, I give Catherine a strong recommendation. The story is centered on Vincent Brooks, a middle-aged man in the midst of a long-term relationship with his girlfriend Katherine. Their relationship is rapidly approaching marriage, a reality that brings Vincent great confusion and anxiety. After coping with these emotions in a bar, Vincent finds himself caught in an affair with a young woman named Catherine, largely against his will. From this point on, the game is about navigating Vincent's cheating. Namely, how to balance his orderly life with Katherine, and his daring life with Catherine. Where Catherine especially shines is in its treatment of its themes. At the forefront, the primary themes are maturity, broaching difficult topics, and balancing the line between indulgence and destruction. It's bizarre that a story about something as cruel as infidelity can be engaging, yet the writers nailed it. At times, I found myself sympathizing with Vincent, arguably the villain of the story, simply because of how well he is written and how human he feels. Not to suggest I empathize with Vincent in any capacity, of course, but I felt the weight of his sin throughout the game. On the other end, my anger at Vincent's immaturity and cowardliness is liberally prodded. After all, everything could be solved with just a little bit of communication and responsibility... At face value, it appears that Catherine glorifies infidelity. This could not be further from the truth. Ultimately, the story plays out how you decide to play it out. There are eight endings in total, all of which determined by how you decide to navigate Vincent's life. I'm very impressed at the writer's ability to create a playable character that simultaneously recognizes my input into the story and reacts accordingly, while also maintaining a distinct identity whose actions and situations evoke a wide spectrum of emotions. As always, Catherine is not without criticism. First, the game feels a bit sexist towards women. Perhaps this is the culture shock between a Japanese developer and an American player, but a lot of the dialogue felt almost demeaning to women, as if they're secondary to the "glorious" men who aren't cheaters. Interestingly, while not to the same extent, the treatment of men also feels a bit sexist, as if men are fundamentally bestial creatures. Second, Catherine is very difficult. The later puzzles are infuriating to complete. I relied on a guide far more than I liked, all because perfect precision or complex logic is needed to progress. In summary, Catherine is a great game. I'm very happy to have played it. The content matter is shocking, and its treatment is something I'll probably never experience again. I recommend at least checking it out.

I would love if I could actually PLAY THIS GAME. It is so incredibly frustrating that it's not compatible with Windows 11, and that I have to attempt multiple convoluted methods just to boot the game up.

Abi güzel oyundu ve gerçekten de beklentimi aldığımı düşünüyorum fakat freedom endingi almam pek hoşuma gitmedi katherine ile olan sonu yapmak isterdim fakat nispette bu varmış. Tekrardan gidip oynama gibi bir şansım var fakat uğraşmaya gerçekten üşeniyorum. O son stage'i yine oynarım sırf farklı ending alabilmek için fakat gerçekten boş bir uzunlukta bence ve o kadar da zor değil sadece boş bir uzunluk, hatta oyunun buzlu blokların ilk ortaya çıktıiğı kısımda daha çok takıldım öyle söyleyeyim. 8.2/10
