The upgrades are deliberately spaced and priced to keep this game open and you opening tedious fish packs as long as possible. It's satisfying enough for a while, but once you have 3 fresh and 2 salt tanks things slow down, become tedious and frustrating. I'm not even close to the end, I've collected over a month of idle profits, and I'm burnt out before I've even seen half of the fish. It's just all spaced way too far apart, which I guess is fine if you really just want a desktop aquarium, but as an idler this game is just too insubstantial.

Adorable idle game! The art style is very cute, and the choices of fish are unique. It doesn't ramp very quickly, but just watching all of my fish swim around is great :3

pleasantly mindless game with pretty colors and nice fishies. Nice music, the money numbers are a bit silly, and rainbow fish are a bit too rare, but I liked it

Chillquarium is the gaming equivalent of putting your brain in airplane mode. There are no bosses trying to kill you. No teammates screaming at you. No ranked mode. No giant dinosaur eating your hard-earned belongings. There are just fish. You buy fish. You watch fish. You make money. You buy more fish. That's basically the entire game, and somehow I've spent way more time doing this than I would like to admit. The best part is how ridiculously relaxing it is. You can have Chillquarium sitting on your second monitor while you're watching a movie, playing something else, working, studying, or pretending to be productive. Every once in a while you glance over and think, “Oh cool, my fish made money.” So you buy another fish. Eventually your aquarium starts looking less like a peaceful little fish tank and more like you're running an extremely profitable aquatic investment firm. The progression is simple but surprisingly satisfying. You slowly build up your collection, unlock new fish, and watch your aquarium become more colorful and ridiculous over time. And unlike most games, there's basically no pressure. You don't have to grind. You don't have to optimize. You don't have to worry about dying. You don't even have to be particularly good at the game. The fish don't care. The fish simply exist. And honestly, sometimes that's exactly what you need. After spending three hours getting destroyed in a competitive game, there's something deeply therapeutic about opening Chillquarium and watching a little fish swim around while your imaginary bank account goes up. The only real problem is that it's dangerously easy to say, “I'll just check my aquarium for a minute.” Then you see a new fish. You buy it. Then you want another one. Then another. Suddenly it's two hours later and you've somehow become emotionally attached to a digital clownfish. Chillquarium isn't trying to reinvent gaming. It doesn't need to. It's a tiny, relaxing game about collecting fish, making money, and watching your aquarium slowly become more impressive. No stress. No rage. No skill required. Just fish. 10/10. Finally found a game where my crippling procrastination is actually a gameplay mechanic.

A very easy and enjoyable game. I had this on the background of my computer throughout lecture in college, and I thought the progression was fair. A lot of silly little fish designs that are very nice to look at. The only thing I would want from this is more freedom with designing the interiors of the tanks.
