Grandfather of hack and slash. I love fast paced combat, and the genre overall. There are way too many good H&S games out there, but DMC3 is still one of the best in the genre. That game has everything: amazing combat, atmosphere, challenging gameplay just a must play experience. On PS + PC, I have 500+ hours just in DMC3. (2 is easily the WORST game in this collection. I beat it once a long time ago, but that was enough. I don't think I've even played 2 on steam lol.)

Devil May Cry HD Collection The pack includes Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, combining the classic PS2 series with an enhanced visual appearance. The gameplay itself has been preserved to a great extent, including the signature fast-paced combat. Devil May Cry What makes DMC1 special is its atmosphere. The gothic castle, creepy enemies, fixed camera angles, exploration and surprisingly tense encounters give it an identity that later entries moved away from. Combat is simpler than DMC3, but there's still a satisfying amount of depth in juggling enemies, switching between sword and guns, using Devil Trigger, and learning enemy patterns. Its biggest problems today are the camera, dated level design, and some awkward controls. The HD version also doesn't completely hide its age certain visual effects, menus and audio quirks remain. Overall still a classic, but expect to deal with some early 2000’s game design. Devil May Cry 2 DMC2 is not a total waste, but it is pretty boring compared to the other two titles. It does not have an engaging and complex combat system that its predecessor had, the enemy are not very exciting either, and the character is less fun. Moreover, there are big maps that lack atmosphere most of the time. Even contemporary reviews singled it out as the main drawback of the collection. What is interesting is that Lucia's story provides you with another character to play, but it uses the same environments and fights, which makes it far from solving the game's problems. My recommendation would be to play it for the sake of history and completeness only, without any guilt about moving to DMC3. Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition This is why you need to get the collection Hoo boy where do i even begin, this is probably my favourite game in the collection. You have several weapons and gun choices, various styles of Trickster, Swordmaster, Gunslinger and Royal Guard, and much more freedom in creating combos. It's also much more confident of Dante's personality. The game is ridiculous, stylish and over the top, while the combat is extremely tough. Adding the playable Vergil to the package makes it even more great. The difficulty level should be noted too, DMC3 can absolutely destroy you apart if you are just starting to play it. However, unlike many games that are hard just for the sake of being hard, the difficulty is mostly pushing you to learn the combat system. Absolute the masterpiece of the collection

Una delle trilogie della mia adolescenza, tre pilastri assoluti del genere action con uno dei personaggi più iconici: peccato soltanto per il porting pigro, che si limita a portare i giochi su Steam, ma che mostra anche una pigrizia assoluta, fatta di problemi di compatibilità e stabilità. Варто купити тільки заради третьої частини і якщо у вас є контролер, бо керування на клавіатурі жахливе. Перший дмс мало іграбельний з точки зору геймплея, але з +/- норм сюжетом. Друга частина це просто кусок унилого і нецікавого калу, в якому ще рішили зробити дві кампанії за двох різних персонажів, які абсолютно не цікаві, хоча геймплей став краще. Третя частина — це гєм, дуже класна гра і найкраща у всій франшизі. Завезли класний сюжет — який знайомить нас з Вергилієм. Додали цікавих персонажів, нормальних і цікавих босів. Нарешті зручний геймплей зі стилями які можна змінювати і різними видами зброї. Ще плюс за Вергілія як персонажа за якого можна зіграти, хоч і це не окрема кампанія як дмс 2, але грати за нього просто кайфово:) Не можу не сказати, що на пк порт не зробили толкового керування, і можливості якось його налаштувати, благо я мав контролер. Якщо у вас його немає тоді я не стану рекомендувати брати цю гру бо зламаєте пальці а попутно і голову. Devil may cry - 4,5/10 Devil may cry 2 - 2/10 Devil may cry 3 - 8/10

DMC 1: Mid DMC 2: Actually made the devil cry (Probably) - Trash DMC 3: I think Goku injected his saliva into my veins and now I mysteriously feel the urge to listen to copious amounts of Limp Bizkit and shoot ant mounds with dual glocks. THIS REVIEW IS FOR DMC 3. Now as one of the 3 people in the world named Dante, I was naturally attracted to DMC purely because i've never heard a game use my name for ANYTHING let alone a main character. You know how kids have icons like Spiderman and Superman, im a whole ass teenager and DANTE IS THAT ICON. I feel like I unlocked a new level of autism because tell me why I tried doing some of the stunts he does with his jacket. DANTE EMBODIES THE DEFINITION OF SWAG AND NOBODY COMES CLOSE AND ITS VERY NOTICEABLE WHEN YOU PLAY AS HIM WHEN HE'S A YOUNG ADULT. He just makes the story of DMC 3 so freaking enjoyable with his cockiness and ability to easily back it up, and it reflects through his gameplay. I dont know how, and I never expected this but DMC 3 is one of my favourite games of all time. This is a beat-em-up so you spend time just juggling enemies like its a circus BUT because its Dante youre juggling enemies with magic, the entire military arms and way too much sauce You get 4 distinct combat styles and they all affect the different weapons you get in the game, you're highly insentivised to use all these weapons to increase you style ranking which is based on how well you're able to combo all your techniques. You'll spend most of the game trying to find your favourite weapons as you get more and there's enough gameplay to stick with what you like and get so insanely good at it. Getting an SSS is as hype as getting a goldfish that lives for a week when your 3. Finishing this game is as sad as finishing a great kebab, greatest experience of your life but it was way too short. The game is pretty long but I just wanted more but I cant complain, the conclusion was satisfying and got me hooked on the rest of the series (DMC 3 is the origin btw). Play this game and I garuntee you'll have more motion than Lebron.
