I have almost 1000 hours in the game and the developer has become extremely predatory, to the point were it is no longer enjoyable to play, the cost no longer justifies the fun. It really has been a bait and switch where the release of the game it was very generous and they slowly been doing less and charging more. The most recent example is all of the winnie the poo cast are now behind a two different paywalls, to make things worst they created all the assets and released a paid DLC that included a honey area where you find Tigger, only to release another dlc right after it with the same honey area assets but that you had to pay again for all the rest of the winnie the poo cast, instead of including them in an update to the first dlc where there was already that area. And the sad part is that games DLC stories have got worst, take less time, and have a premium price point. Most of the animal companions from our favorite movies are also behind paywalls, and while I enjoy supporting developers who continue to improve on the games I enjoy playing, this is one of those games that I continue to pay more for less and I hate it.

Ich rate jedem davon ab das Spiel zu kaufen!! Ich kann seit 2,5 Wochen nicht spielen und bekomme keine Hilfe von Gameloft! ich kann nicht mal meinen Spielstand selbst zurück stellen um das Problem so zu lösen, was auch maximal ärgerlich wäre aber besser als garnichts machen zu können aber wie gesagt, selbst dies ist nicht möglich!!

500+ hours on PC alone, and I still keep coming back multiple times a week. Disney Dreamlight Valley is one of those games that somehow manages to feel cozy, relaxing, exciting, and completely overwhelming all at the same time - and I mean that in the best and worst ways. I absolutely love this game. The amount of content is honestly insane. Between the base game, DLCs, characters, quests, collectibles, crafting, decorating, friendship levels, hidden secrets, special events, and all the little things there are to discover, there is ALWAYS something to do. I still find myself discovering things I didn't know existed over the last year. The characters are a huge part of what makes Dreamlight Valley so enjoyable. Getting to build friendships with so many Disney characters, complete their storylines, decorate around them, and essentially create your own little Disney world is incredibly satisfying. The decorating and customization are also a massive selling point. You can make your Valley feel completely unique, whether you want something organized and practical or something that looks like it came straight out of a Disney movie. But... the amount of content can also be its biggest problem. There is SO much to keep track of. Multiple DLCs, hundreds of quests, collections, crafting materials, characters, realms, recipes, achievements, seasonal content, resources, and collectibles can make the game feel less like a cozy life sim and more like you have a second job sometimes. 😂 If you take a break from the game and come back months later, it can be especially overwhelming trying to remember what you were doing, which quests you had started, what resources you needed, and what you still had left to accomplish. I also think the game could benefit from better organization and tracking systems. When you've played for hundreds of hours, it's easy to lose track of what you've collected, what you've completed, and what you're still missing. Additionally, the massive amount of content behind paywalls themselves is a bit frustrating. However, if you love Disney, cozy games, collecting, decorating, or games that give you an absurd amount of things to work toward, DDV is absolutely worth trying and investing your time in to.❤️

This game was my first true introduction to gaming. I started playing the game in early access right when it launched in August 2022. I quickly became addicted to it. I loved the grind: getting resources, working through quests and collecting items. I played consistently for around 4-5 months. Then I got a bit overwhelmed with characters quests and the star paths and dreamsnaps so I took a break. When I came back to the game after roughly a 3 months break or so, the premium shop was in full swing. I found myself quickly spending a lot of money on this game. I wanted to collect all the items and so it became hard to resist, especially when more items were being funneled through the premium shop than the game shop. Eventually the first DLC came out and I purchased that too. In fact, I have almost 500 hours in the game and I have purchased every single DLC. However, I should have way more hours considering I have been playing for 4 years. The truth of the matter is that I take long breaks from the game. Between the amount of characters and quests, and the premium shop that is predatory in nature, I can’t play this game for longer than a few months at a time. I am stuck in this loop with it. I play consistently during the holidays, then drop it in January until end of spring and early summer. Then drop it again during July/August. Then pick it up again in the fall. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. I love this game do not get me wrong, but I am so sad with how money hungry Disney is. So many of these items should be in Scrooges store. The Star path should be permanent if you paid for it. The premium store items should have their costs cut in half. It should be easier to earn moonstones. Free updates need more content and items to go along with them. Please stop trying to run our pockets dry and take up our whole lives. Most of the time, I do not have enough time to finish the star paths. Why am I losing out on something I bought?? Keep it there for me to work on when I can. Also, re-sell the star paths! The amount of FOMO this game functions off of is shameful. So many aspects of this game are NOT cozy. Thus, while I love it and will continue to re-visit it, I don’t know if it is worth it anymore.

Verdict: Recommended Best for players who: Love cozy games like Stardew Valley, Palia, Sun Haven or Fields of Mistria. Disney fans, decorators, completionists and Sims players looking for something relaxing with seemingly endless things to work toward will probably find a lot to love here. Skip if you: Need games to have a clear ending or dislike repetitive tasks, resource gathering and the occasional grind. If the general cozy life sim formula does nothing for you, Dreamlight Valley probably will not change your mind. Final Review: I bought Disney Dreamlight Valley on July 29 and somehow already have 184.9 hours in it. I know, I know. The simplest way I can describe it is Stardew Valley with Disney characters, easier fishing and a whole lot more magic. It has quickly become one of the best games I have ever played and I can genuinely see myself putting thousands of hours into it. What surprised me most is how much heart it has. There are wholesome emotional journeys that occasionally dig a little deeper than I expected. The game is full of positive messages and gentle reminders about self care while still acknowledging that life is not always sunshine and rainbows. Some of the writing feels like it is quietly teaching real life lessons without turning them into a lecture. It came into my life at the right time and has been tugging on my heart strings in the most magical way. It also manages to make Disney characters and worlds feel much more personal than I expected. At times it feels like experiencing Disney movies from the inside, including movies I have never even seen. It is almost like walking through a live action Disney World that happens to be partly animated. The everyday gameplay is generally very relaxed. Fishing is easy, farming does not feel overly complicated and gathering nearby resources is usually simple. Fast travel is an absolute lifesaver, especially once you have a lot going on around the valley. Companions are a life saver. That does not mean everything is perfect. Some quests and realms can become a little grindy, especially when they require specific resources. Character positioning can also be annoying. Companions sometimes stand exactly where you need to interact and the distance between your character and an object or another character can occasionally make interactions more awkward than they need to be. I would also love more adjustable settings around gathering and interaction behavior. Performance has been solid for me overall with only minor issues and the game feels extremely polished. Mind you, I'm playing on a laptop while my much more powerful PC is in the shop. The visuals are beautiful and the music is excellent. I also really appreciate the inclusion of a streamer mode for people creating content who need to be mindful of copyrighted music. As for value, I think it is worth full price. I originally picked it up because I wanted something different and cozy and happened to get a good deal, but after this much time with it I would have been perfectly happy paying full price. I have over 6,000 hours in The Sims 4 and Dreamlight Valley is one of the first games that has made me think I could eventually put that kind of time into something else. Had I started playing this when it first released, maybe I could have saved myself a few hundred dollars in Sims DLC while continuing to wait for spiral staircases. Alas. There is no traditional ending here and that is part of the appeal. You can play at your own pace, decorate, collect, quest, explore or simply spend time with characters you love. I have never felt like the game was wasting my time. There is always something I want to do next. It is simply magical. Also, Disney, please make this into a movie or series. I would watch it immediately.

This game is fun, sure, but getting a DLC that is the same price as the game or more is just so incredibly upsetting. It never feels worth it. Every "DLC" feels like a cash grab more than anything else. It'll never be worth it. I cannot recommend this game to anyone.

Take out the microtransaction, and this is one of the best, if not the closest, games to Animal Crossing we can get on PC. The game has great optimization and gives off the old vibe that Disney used to be about that I miss so much. It's one of my favorite cozy games that got me through tough times since it's early access. The game can feel like a chore, and I respect the negative reviews. But overall, if you're a Disney fan and cozy gamer, I highly recommend it.

If you have the type of brain that can't resist premium items, that will be tricked into buying a pretty cosmetic you'll use for no more than a week just because it's limited edition, if once you buy a premium in-game currency you write it off as already-spent and don't think of it as "spending £5" but just "eh, this is already spent", this is not the game for you. Press BACK and go look somewhere else. If you are not in complete control of your spending impulses, be warned that this game encourages you to spend money. For example, there are now two Disney characters who will talk about missing their pets, and those pets are only obtainable by spending in-game premium currency to purchase them from the store. You can earn this premium currency in the game, and you get plenty free with each game or DLC purchase, but once you run out of that initial boon it does take quite a long time to earn enough to buy anything. If you are somehow resistant to all of that, either because you're already frugal or because you're super aware of these predatory features in video games... There is a lot of good game around that, in here. I have played a LOT of this game. I played a lot of this game when I had it on Xbox Game Pass, so my true hours are whatever Steam says plus 300 hours on Xbox. I have played a lot of this game. I have bought the DLC, and I have bought one £5 pack of Moonstones when I had an Xbox gift card, and then I bought the £4 Canadian Wildlife Fund pack which included one companion and 800 Moonstones. I have bought nothing else with actual real money. You do not need to spend real money to get a lot of enjoyment out of this game. I enjoyed only the base game for my first 300 hours on Xbox. I really like decorating and placing furniture, and I find the basic gathering mechanic quite soothing so I do it a lot. I moved from Xbox to Steam when I received the whole game and DLC bundle as a Christmas gift, and this year I have found all of the DLCs engaging and interesting to complete. I still haven't finished all of the quests, and they continue to add new ones every few months with each new major update that typically include a new character to unlock. It's not an every day game, it's not meant to be your one and only, but it is continually updated with some new content and it has a reason to return every few months. It's relaxing and cosy, and I really enjoy all of the characters even without being a hardcore Disney Adult (I grew up on it, so there is nostalgia, but I'm not in active Disney fandom.)
