Quack Quack!! Loved the game! The mechanics and the puzzles are very well designed. Every level introduces something new which keeps the gameplay fresh till the last moment. It's quite an easy game and very relaxing. About 6 hrs of play time is perfect for this one, though I wouldn't mind 1-2 hours of future DLCs introducing new mechanics. Keep quacking!

If I need to describe this game, I'd say it's the anti-anxiety game. Absolutely phenomenal. Not gonna lie, recently I've lost interest in video games, and while there is like that 1-2 favorites that I usually play, I was looking for something that fits a very specific vibe, something cozy, something that makes me smile, and something that makes me... just lose myself in a game. This games seems like the perfect candidate for that. I genuinely was excited to play it for an hour without even realizing how much time has passed, and I will definitely go back to it. Highly recommended, and will continue to play more soon.

💙 Review: https://youtu.be/S0WjuSDIrZI

It’s been a while since I played a platformer with a gimmick that felt truly fresh. Don’t get me wrong, we’ve seen plenty of great titles inspired by the classics, but very few are willing to take real risks. So, when a developer working on the Raji: An Ancient Epic sequel recommended Dodo Duckie to me, I was immediately intrigued. GOT ANY GRAPES? On the surface, Dodo Duckie doesn’t look like much. With its simplistic presentation, and generic story of a Duck out to rescue his abducted friends, you’d be forgiven for not really expecting much going in. It’s charming for sure, and there’s a lot of smaller details in the environment that help make it somewhat appealing, but it’s only when you bump into a friendly Capybara that things really start to kick off. That’s because this is when you’re introduced to the game’s central gimmick: a magical hat that allow you to flip this 2D platformer into a 3D one. No matter where you are in the world, you can switch perspectives and platform in a whole new way! I have seen similar mechanics before in other games, such as the wonderful Toodee and Topdee, but none feel quite as seamless as in Dodo Duckie. There’s no pausing time in the other world, there’s no sense of displacement: it’s just you exactly where you were but with a dimensional offset. This change in perspective allows for a range of puzzles where you alter one world so that you can continue platforming in the other. These puzzles aren’t overly taxing as many of them revolve around locating the way ahead, or manipulating the three dimensional environment, but since you need to take multiple perspectives into account, if feels far more engaging as a result. You’re only able to jump in 2D, with the 3D duck more about interaction, so you’ll have to work around these restrictions. Doing so only gets more interesting as you start getting introduced to more environmental gimmicks and enhance your moveset too. With more things to think about, it makes later levels more interesting – but also allows for a nice bit of sequence breaking too for those looking for it. You can still control your float in 3D, so it is possible to cut a corner or two! Lasting about three or four hours, Dodo Duckie is on the short side, although spending time to collect coins and purchasing cosmetics from the Capybara store can certainly add a little extra playtime for those inclined. However, I think the length also works to the game’s benefit as it ensures that the game doesn’t outstay its welcome, even though the difficulty never really increases all that much. It’s aimed at a more casual audience, but the unique gameplay, short length, and inexpensive price tag means that it’s perfect for any gamer looking for something a bit more light-hearted.

Loved the platforming, though the level design is a lil off. But overall , the perspective shift is very neat.

Very cute game, with a lot of very creative game mechanics and creative use of said mechanics in all of the little platforming puzzles. While there were a few moments where the jumps became just a little too far (gotta 💜 coyote time), I still found the creativity of the game really refreshing! Side note, needed to swap to keyboard for the last bit of platforming in the last level, and I kinda wished that last bit also had more checkpoints, since missing a jump meant I had to restart at the beginning all over again... But other than that, the game was a fairly entertaining 8ish hours of gameplay for it's fairly low price point!

You play as a duck and you can quack on command. I don't think I need to explain more.
