Класична версія DOOM 3 - це найправильніший спосіб доторкнутися до гри у тому вигляді, якою вона була задумана: більш темна й без можливості використовувати ліхтарик разом зі зброєю. Свого часу гра вражала графікою, тінями, освітленням, хорор-елементами, постійним відчуттям страху й небезпеки. Не можу сказати, що вона здатна дати ті ж відчуття зараз, але те, що до цієї гри все ще можна доторкнутися - вже плюс. Та й геймплей все ще може бути цікавим. Мінус класичної версії DOOM 3 у тому, що для нормальної гри на широкому екрані, треба встановлювати патчі. Цю версію гри можна отримати в комплекті, придбавши видання DOOM 3: BFG Edition.

Best game in the franchise IMO, and literally one of the best FPS horror games that I've ever played. I think I've bought this game five times across multiple platforms if that'll tell you anything. Full price or on sale the game is worth more than what you paid for.

jesus i always heard this game was terrible but its actually a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ banger, dont play bfg edition the flashlight is key to the experience. everyone who says "this isnt a real doom game" is a huge baby, this rocks. i'd take a dead serious, corny and somewhat dated/ugly visual style over the derpy soylennial humor thats in doom eternal, cacodemons are an actual enemy and not just press 1 button and they derpsplode xD. maybe the most overhated video game ive ever played

My first DOOM game so I'm bias. Overhated & underrated. Fantastic game. BFG edition is underwhelming however.

Doom 3 has aged surprisingly well for a 2004 release.. I love the way it incorporates really realistic shadows into this lived in sci-fi aesthetic, the dark visuals mixed with the amazing sound design drag you in and immerse you. It's not perfect by a longshot.. But it's still a classic with a lot to offer.

SOOOO boring. This game just doesn't play well. The puzzles consist of finding an audio recording, having to sit through the entire 60 seconds of babbling, irrelevant information and finally getting a single piece of information at the very end. Have a pen handy, because most of these "puzzles" consist of writing down a 3 digit code for later use. If you don't memorize the audio recording, you'll have to listen to the entire thing again when you finally find the right lock. The layout of the building/base is just a maze of bad lighting and a million rooms that all look the same. There's no map, no way to tell where you're going and often you just walk in circles, trying to find an objective. The combat is all run-and-gun, no strategy involved. I decided to pay money to play this game because it was so highly rated, even after all these years. Boy, did I make a mistake - at $10, it's still not a good deal.
