I enjoyed this game. It's got beautiful watercolor art, emotional storytelling and a lot of wholesome moments. It felt so good to kayak in the river of Dordogne! This game makes me want to visit the Dordogne river for real.

Best for: Fans of calm, story-driven games. Skip if: You want real gameplay challenge or a gripping mystery. It's more an interactive story than a game. Review This game follows an woman that returns to her late grandmother's house. First impression is that the art style is stunning. It consists of water paint aesthetics with some stylized objects around. Can't speak for the French version but the English one has some stellar voice acting. I fell in love with the depth of the characters, and their complicate relationships that aren't truly resolved. The game treats the player like an adult. The soundtrack is distinct and bit repetitive but never to the degree where it's annoying. I really wanted to love this game. The first play-through was very nice indeed. But going back for the achievements made me really dislike the games' execution. Few things have made me want to rage quit as much. On consecutive play-throughs I could skip some of the cut scenes, but the achievements in this game are hidden behind miles of unskippable dialog and interactions. And I can't alt+tab to let the dialogue just continue without auto-pausing the game... And let me tell you; hunting for sounds in the attic, repairing the kayak, swimming for silverware, and the climbing the hill for the third time in the hunt for a specific word at the very end is a deeply unpleasant experience. First time with the regular play-through. Second time I discovered that if I travel to far I cannot back up a bit. Third time I got the final word. Never understood why developers want to force-feed people their game through multiple play-throughs. Oh well, now it's uninstalled and I never have to look at this again. You need more paint, sweetie. Sigh... Dordogne is one of my all time favorite indie games. I think I’ve played it four times now on multiple platforms, simply because I love it so much! The first thing I noticed was the beautiful art style. The landscapes are fully hand painted with watercolors, giving the game a very unique and vibrant look that I absolutely love. The soundtrack is beautiful too and fits the story and atmosphere of Dordogne really well. The story is interesting and very touching. It has lots of cozy and wholesome moments, but also some unexpected twists. The ending made me very emotional. It’s a beautiful experience if you ask me. The gameplay is simple and easy, but still offers some variation. The collectibles are actually fun to collect too. You can find stickers, words, photos and audio recordings, which you can use to fill your binder and create memories of your journey. The whole game gives me such a nostalgic feeling. It’s a heartwarming adventure and visually a true piece of art. I highly recommend experiencing Dordogne for yourself! Dordogne also runs great on Steam Deck.

Un jeu magnifique et une histoire touchante. Des décors à l'aquarelle magnifique qui font la grande beauté de ce jeu. L'histoire est mignonne et touchante d'une relation entre le personnage principale et sa grand mère. Le gameplay est simple et très facile à comprendre en main, cela reste un jeu narratif donc l'histoire est le point fort du jeu. Le jeu mérite plein de positif.

Courte mais magnifique aventure aventure entre deux époques, je recommande vivement ce jeu qui est une véritable oasis de paix.
