EDIT: Tabori actually hopped in a call with me and helped me realize (unsurprisingly) the issue was me. He helped explain some of the nuances to the game and why my understanding of the game was wrong. After that everything clicked and I was able to really start to enjoy the game. I am really thankful for the experience I got to speak with him, and I genuinely believe this is a team of people who created something they loved and wanted to share. Keeping my original section of my review just for the lore, but this game rules. ================================================================== One of the most frustrating experiences I have had with a game in recent experience. You can't take a turn normal and have to drift nearly every corner. Fine, but then they will have 4 lanes and put cars in every other lane making drifting impossible and turning impossible so you just smack into stuff and lose your combo. Sometimes the car will hold a drift for 2 miles, sometimes it will hold it for 10 ft and the fun part is that you never have any clue which it is going to be. Also if you drift and the car decides your drift is done, you're ability to turn in a direction is nearly cut in half and drifting seems to have a cool down cause you can't just go back into a drift to save yourself. I bought this to play with a friend and found out after my first run that coop is experience gated (or something?) Might come back and give it a try, but honestly this game had me so fed up after just one run.

It's Balatro executed in a racing game format in the most impeccable way imaginable, despite how crazy that may sound. It's really, really good.

I had super high expectations going in after watching gameplay videos on social media and streamers, and I even jumped in without trying the demo first. Driving Rogue completely delivered and still blew my expectations away. I haven’t had this much fun with a game in a long time. The core gameplay is pure fun whether you play solo or in multiplayer. There are only a few maps right now, but it doesn't feel repetitive at all when you play. Navigating around traffic is genuinely challenging, and duels with bosses add an extra layer of challenge that keeps every run tense. The car customization and soundtrack heavily remind me of the old school Need for Speed games, packed with awesome rock and rap tracks. On top of that, the card system really ties everything together because building your car with different cards to set up huge combos makes every match feel fresh and addicting. For feedback, I really hope the devs add more content down the line, like more cars, new game modes, and a few more maps to expand the roster. Awesome job by the dev team on this one. Rating: 9/10

Played the hell out of the demo. Driving Rogue more than scratches that classic NFSU itch. If you like playing with different setups and being rewarded for experimentation, you will find a home here. Driving Rogue is a seamless blend of roguelike replayability and arcade time/score attack racing. There's customization and online co-op, the gameplay is well optimized and smooth, and you can load up custom music playlists. Driving Rogue rewards thoughtfulness without losing accessibility. You can turn your brain off while listening to your playlist or you can min max a busted build that breaks the game or your car. Driving Rogue can be both relaxing and visceral depending on what you want it to be, It doesn't require a ton of forethought to enjoy but it returns more than you invest into it. The Gravity Works team are very receptive to feedback and engaged with their community, Driving Rogue has an extremely low price point and I have nothing but praise for it. There is no reason not to buy this.

Keyboard player here. Female player here. And I’m not normally a racing game person. I’ve been playing Driving Rogue since the early demo, so I’ve actually watched this game grow into what it is now. The first thing that attracted me was the design style. It has its own identity. Stylish, clean, slightly retro, but not trying too hard to look 'cool'. But the biggest difference between the early demo and the release version for me is the driving itself. I’m 100% a keyboard player. I’ve basically never been a controller person, which is one reason I usually don’t get deeply into racing games. In the early demo, I spent half my time absolutely murdering the car against walls. 😂 Sometimes I felt like I was fighting the car more than driving it. Now? Completely different. The steering feels responsive, the speed feels good, and especially the drifting finally gives me that feeling of: I’m controlling this car. I’ve got this thing under control. And that feeling is ridiculously satisfying. One thing I didn’t expect was how much this game would wake up old childhood memories of playing games in arcades. Back then, a game was just a game. You stood in front of a machine, put your hands on the controls, and the whole point was to actually learn how to control what was happening on the screen. That’s what Driving Rogue gives me. You have to get the car under control. You have to feel the timing. You have to learn the drifting, the speed, the corners. And once you start getting it right, that feeling is incredibly satisfying. It reminds me why I liked games in the first place. The game itself is the fun. What I also love is that Driving Rogue doesn’t ask me to reorganise my life around playing a game. I keep it on my laptop or desktop, I’m working, I need a break, I open it and drive for 15 or 20 minutes. Sometimes that turns into a lot longer because 'one more run' becomes another one. It’s easy to pick up, it doesn’t demand some ridiculous PC setup, and you can play it at whatever level you feel like playing that day. Want to just drive and enjoy the speed? You can. Want to drift, chase scores and get competitive? You can. Want to experiment with cards, builds and upgrades and start thinking about how to squeeze more out of every run? You can do that too. That flexibility is probably one of its biggest strengths. The soundtrack is genuinely good as well. It fits the driving really nicely and helps keep that sense of speed and flow without getting in the way. And then there is one very specific thing this game triggers in me: Initial D. Maybe this is an age thing, but somewhere in my brain there is apparently still a tiny Akina downhill racer waiting to wake up. Driving Rogue does that. It doesn’t make me think, 'Right, now I’m sitting down to play a big racing game.' It makes me think: I want to drive. I can take that corner better. I can drift that properly. I can beat that score. One more run. For me that distinction matters. A lot of racing games have always felt like too much game for the amount of driving I actually want. Driving Rogue feels compact and focused. It gives me the fun part without making the whole experience feel like homework. It’s engaging and relaxing at the same time, which is surprisingly difficult to get right. And as someone who is both a female player and a keyboard-only player, I think this deserves attention from people who normally assume a racing game probably isn’t for them. You don’t need to be a hardcore racing-game person. You just need to enjoy the feeling of getting a car under control and wanting to do one more run. Driving Rogue reminds me of a time when games didn’t have to prove how big they were. They just had to be fun. Highly recommended. Go for a run, have fun!

if you ever played inertial drift a true hidden gem of drifting game this is like a roguelike version of that or at the very least gives the same sensations that did with a more arcade approach to scoring and avoidance, also not a lot of vehicle based roguelikes out there so this is also nice to see. it runs super well and is just a bunch of fun, super affordable for whats there. no notes really solid game.

One of the best value-for-money indie racing games of 2026 without a shadow of a doubt. The overall quality is of a game 3x this price - the handling, the customisation, the OST; it all comes together to create a truly addictive arcade racing experience that runs like a dream. The UI could do with some tweaks, and the audio of some of the cars could be improved - but those really are nitpicks on what is otherwise a game I could happily sink dozens of hours into. The devs are open, responsive and have a tight-knit relationship with the community, so I'm sure there will be plenty of updates, tweaks and fresh content down the road. If you like arcade racers, rogue-likes or retro-futuristic games, give it a shot - you can thank me later!

Balatro x BlackBox-era NFS love child. This game is easily worth 3x what they're asking. I could go on and on about positives, but that would take way too long. Just buy it. My only real gripe is the lack of mid-run saving. If you have a really good endless run going, you either have to thug it out, or accept the fact that you'll lose your progress if you quit. Other than that, no real complaints.
