Already owned, and have played the original version on Megaton Edition (meanwhile delisted and no longer on the store). Look it's an amazing game, essential piece of history and this is an ok compilation and edition. This has a "Very Positive" review count so I think it's important to raise some negative points. This is basically the Megaton Edition with a 5th episode, commentary and WITHOUT the expansion packs. Ok that's fine I'll buy the Megaton Edition. No, Gearbox delisted it. Ok... so I have the Megaton Edition and want to play the 5th episode. 20€, thank you very much. Gearbox Software is just pure greed.

Despite Duke's legacy, Duke 3D is a pretty good 90's FPS game, if not a little bit more basic than I was expecting! ...maybe bogged down a little bit by this remaster... I'm a Doom kid, and I've never really given Duke much of a shot outside of the memes I've heard online about him. Always knew Duke 3D was one of the big 90's FPS icons, and I LOVED Blood (1997), so I thought to give Duke a shot, since I was lately in a retro FPS mood. Honestly I was surprised to see just how... basic of an old-school FPS game Duke is? Yeah it's got the whole city theme, Duke one-liners, and its occasional raunchiness, but most of it really just is going from level to level in the same way how Doom would. That's not a bad thing though! The weapons feel very good for the most part, and the combat loop is fairly engaging throughout! Really my only problem are like the Sentry Drones being designed really annoyingly and level progression largely isn't the best communicated so it can be extremely easy to get lost in a level or have no idea what to do to progress. Visually, it's good! Duke 3D has a good color palette, and build engine games in general just have a really charming 2.5D style to them. The midis too are honestly great to listen to as well. The port itself though? ...bleugghhhhh. Poor and inconsistent performance, barebones options, not the greatest options, and I frequently ran into audio bugs and the occasional crash here and there, and the newly recorded Duke lines just sound bad, rather than the bit-crushed originals. Unsure if this is the standard for Build Engine games, but I didn't even have nearly the amount of troubles with Blood: Fresh Supply (also not known as a very good remaster). The rewind feature is neat I guess, but I'd gladly change it for a functional port any day. I did have fun with Alien World Order's theming and level design so that's nice I guess? The whole package on its own I had a decent enough time with, and it has a decent amount of content that I can juuust about justify the asking price, but maybe pick this up on a sale.

максимально крутой ремастер максимально крутой игры старых времен, очень советую если хочется ознакомится с классикой, я сам как раз через эту версию впервые прошел duke nukem 3d! да и как вишенка на торте разработчики добавили новый, не менее крутой эпизод. короче игра класс, всем советую. Жуйте жвачку и любите игры.

Fantastyczny tytuł, powrót do najlepszych czasów moich ulubionych gier drugiej połowy lat 90. Duke jest tak samo grywalny, bezpośredni i zabawny jak 30 lat temu, ale teraz w jeszcze lepszej grafice i z nowymi mapami oraz komentarzami projektantów poziomów. Większość gier mnie teraz szybko nudzi, zwalam winę na ADHD, ale tutaj mnie wciągnęło po całości. Gorąco polecam starym i młodym - oldschool w najlepszym wydaniu.

Game itself is great, but better off played with a source port like eduke or buildgdx. The mouse acceleration in 20th anniversary world tour makes it borderline unplayable

Fairly decent, I guess. Would've preferred the Megaton Edition but that's like over $100 to get a Steam key. I'm good bro.
