To KONAMI and the eFootball Development Team, We are writing this as a community that has supported eFootball for years, invested our time and money into the game, and continued to stand by it despite countless frustrations. But we have reached a point where remaining silent is no longer acceptable. The current state of eFootball is deeply disappointing. The impact of what players commonly describe as “the script” has become increasingly difficult to ignore. Matches often feel inconsistent and unpredictable, with player responsiveness, passing, movement, rebounds, and finishing appearing to change dramatically from one moment to another. A competitive football game should reward skill, decision-making, timing, and consistency. It should NOT leave players feeling that the outcome of a match is being influenced by factors outside their control. However, the scripting issue is only one part of a much larger problem. THE CONNECTION QUALITY IS UNACCEPTABLE Players across North Africa and the Middle East continue to suffer from unstable connections, high latency, input delay, and inconsistent gameplay. And the most important question remains: Where are the dedicated servers for our region? North Africa and the Middle East contain a massive and highly active eFootball player base. Yet players in these regions are still expected to compete under conditions that can put them at a significant disadvantage compared with players located closer to major server infrastructure. This is not simply a minor inconvenience. In a competitive online football game, connection quality directly affects gameplay and competitive fairness. When a player's commands are delayed, when players feel unresponsive, when passes take longer to execute, and when matches become dependent on connection quality rather than football ability, the competitive experience is fundamentally damaged. WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR SPECIAL TREATMENT. We are asking for FAIR TREATMENT. We are asking KONAMI to recognize the North African and Middle Eastern communities as an important part of the global eFootball ecosystem. We want: • Dedicated and properly optimized server infrastructure for North Africa and the Middle East. • Significant improvements to matchmaking and connection stability. • Greater transparency regarding server locations and matchmaking systems. • A serious investigation into the gameplay inconsistencies that players experience and commonly describe as “scripting.” • Clear communication with the community regarding these issues and the steps being taken to address them. • A competitive environment where skill, not connection quality or unexplained gameplay behavior, determines the result. We have supported this game. We have promoted it. We have created content around it. We have spent countless hours playing it. Many of us have also spent real money supporting the game. The least we deserve is to be heard. This is not an attack on KONAMI. This is a demand for accountability, transparency, and improvement. We are not calling for insults, harassment, or disrespect toward KONAMI or its employees. Instead, we are calling for something far more powerful: A UNITED COMMUNITY DEMANDING A BETTER GAME. If our concerns continue to be ignored, we will organize a peaceful and respectful community campaign to make these issues impossible to overlook. Our message is simple: We love football. We love competition. We love eFootball. But we will not accept an unfair competitive experience indefinitely. KONAMI, listen to your players. North Africa is here. The Middle East is here. And we are asking you to finally treat our region as a serious part of the eFootball community. We want answers. We want action. And most importantly, we want FAIR PLAY.

Tldr; after 8/20's update, the PvP matches are just riddled with unplayable lag. Writing this review as a Steam Deck user hoping to get Konami's attention to clean up their act. I've been on eFootball for a better part of a year now, and apart from the pay to win mechanics and some annoying game rigging mechanics, it's been an enjoyable game for the most part. However, after the most recent updates released on 8/20, the online PvP matches are now literally unplayable - input lags to high heavens with like a 5-10 second delay, and I've confirmed it's not a network connection issue on my end. Even the Vs AI modes are also increasingly laggy. Going into the discussion forums, it's clear that this is the universal experience now on the Steam Deck. Will not recommend until this gets fixed - how can these updates not be tested before being pushed to production? Come on Konami, do better. This isn't your first day at the rodeo, and this is some kind of sick joke if this is your way to commemorate PES and Winning Eleven's 30 years anniversary.

Completely unplayable online. The PvP experience is a complete disaster-unbearable input lag, atrocious servers, and clunky animations that make it feel like your players are running through wet cement.
