Europa Universalis IV demo content The Demo of the empire building game Europa Universalis IV allows you to play as one of the four nations below through 28 years of history. All single player capabilities as well as an extensive tutorial and hint-system are included in this demo. There are no multiplayer capabilities, and please note that the ability to save & load have been disabled.
Trade/Venice Venice was a prominent Italian Free City and played an important role in Mediterranean trade. Their fleet was important for gaining dominance over the Mediterranean Sea and securing the spice trade from India. Venice is a good choice for playing the trading game and seizing trade opportunities in the Mediterranean.
Warfare/The Ottoman Empire The Ottoman Empire was a major power up to its fall in 1922. The Ottomans dominated land from the Balkans to the Arabian Peninsula. In Europa Universalis IV they are a strong choice for playing a warmonger game because of their cheaper coring costs and powerful early troops.
Colonization/Portugal Portugal is a natural choice for exploring the colonization part of the game. The nation was important in the exploration of the coast of Africa and the New World. Portugal lies isolated in the western part of the Iberian Peninsula and lacks natural enemies.
As long as they keep good relations with Castile they should be able to peacefully explore and colonize. Diplomacy/Austria Austria was a major power through the renaissance and up to World War I. The Habsburg family ruled Austria and controlled the Holy Roman Empire for a large part of its existence.
Diplomacy is important for keeping the title of Holy Roman Emperor, as it is an elective title. Keeping good relations with the electors will greatly improve your chances of keeping the crown. Austria is a strong choice for a diplomatic game because of their inclination towards holding the title of Emperor.

I liked the demo, it offers a lot of game play, but i dont like the game, it was very confusing, it seems like a more complicated version of Civ. I feel as though if i played for a long time (like 10+) hours, i might gete the hang of it, but for me its just not worth it, yet that could just be because i'm an avid Civ player and this was just diffrent.

Well, since all my friend's has done this i'd better make one myself. So a note first....I only have the demo, but i know how the game works. You can choose any nation at any time. With that nation you can ally other nations. You can start a war too! More about the war thing later in this rewiew. But for now.....You can be peacefull but it's a big chance that someone start's a war with you.(Happened To me) You can study technology and get the most out of your idea's. You can have colony's and explore the new world. However there is a chance that your ships will get lost. To declare a war with someone you need a claim or a casus belli or whatever it is. If you start a war with no claim or casus belli, people will lose confidence in you. It's very hard especially for noobs like me but it's a great game after the noob part. I recommend this game because it fricking OWN'S!!!!!!

La démo téléchargée ne marche pas ; je l'ai supprimmée après avoir dû éteindre 2 fois mon ordi manuellement pour cause de blocage total!!! Impossible de donner 1 avis dans ces conditions The demo doesn't works It had blocked completely my computer 2 times!!!

I have always been a fan of strategy games and in particular Paradox Studios' grandiouse renditions of human history. I have played alot of Victoria II, so I was familiar with the style of realt time strategy that Paradox skillfuly develops. However, this was my very first time trying out any version of Europa Universalis IV and I was not dissapointed. Immediatly from the loading screen I felt the familiar sense of grandure Paradox is so known for from the seemingly limitless number of factions the player can choose from. Once I delved into the content, beinga newer game (in comparison to HOI or Victoria), I immediatly noticed alot of the gameplay flaws I found irritating in Victoria II such as the flawed diplomacy system were almost nonexistant in Europa Universalis making the game feel so much mroe gratifying and enjoyable. In addition, I loved some of the features of the game not presentin other Paradox titles such as the use of administration, military, and diplomacy points which served as what I believe the most valuable currency of the game. I would definitly recommend the game to any seasoned turn based or real time strategy fan, though I would not recommend it to those who are unfamiliar with strategy games as a whole as despite it's many simplifications there remains an overwhelming amount of content.

a hard game but according to me, It's the best strategy game out there. The Total War series is also good but this has a much much bigger map and a more advanced diplomatics/relationships system, also it isn't a turn-based game wich make It more realistic...
