At the time of writing, I would not recommend Everwind to anyone. While I think it has potential to be a fun game, at the moment it is too bogged down with issues that make it an overall tedious and unrewarding experience. Pros: - Airship mechanic is fun and encourages you to have a moving base, which is novel compared to most other games in the open world survival crafting genre, and makes it feel worthwhile to invest in making your base cool and functional - There's a transmog system already in place which is very nice for those who like to be fashionable - Already quite a good variety of biomes and dungeons/structures to explore which is fun (until you need to find a specific structure) - Most crafting tables will draw from your storage chests on your airship, which is pretty nice! Unfortunately, I'm sat here like Pooh Bear tapping my head trying to think, think, think, think, think of any further positives, and nothing is coming to mind. So... Cons: - The farming and food system in the game feels broken at present, with farming certain food items restricted to what altitude they like to grow in. For a game where the entire premise is that you are moving around on an airship base, this would seem a bit of a sticking point no? AHA! I hear you say, but you can find incubators which alleviate the need to be at certain altitudes to grow certain plants! Yes, theoretically, but in our 60 hours of playtime, my partner and I NEVER found the incubator recipe even after spending far too much of our evenings and weekends just flying around rotten biomes. - I really don't understand the food system at all. Farming, as I've already outlined, is tedious in itself and then there's the food recipes. There are a TON of recipes for different food and drink items that restore your health and stamina over time, and every recipe requires at least 3 different ingredients. For most recipes, only 1 of those ingredients is something you can actually grow on a farm. The rest - flowers, fungus, etc - HAVE to be foraged from their native biome. This means you can NEVER have a farm that makes you self-sufficient within your moving airship. You will ALWAYS be forced to forage around to keep your ingredients in stock. And while gameplay wise that doesn't seem unreasonable, it (currently) means you potentially have to go down to low level areas to forage ingredients, which is just boring when all you want to do is take on new challenges and explore new areas. Also honey cannot be found easily. You are mainly going to get this from breaking food sacks in dungeons, villages and encampments. There is no beekeeping system currently, no bees at all in fact. - You would have thought for all that effort that food would give more benefit than simply restoring 30-200 HP/ST, no? No, it does not. Unlike Valheim, for example, your resource-needy recipes will only ever heal either health or stamina (not both) and won't give you any long-lasting buffs. - So you give up your culinary aspirations and become an alchemist instead...except that you don't get "recipes" for potions, you always have to manually mix them in the alchemy table, and because of this the alchemy table doesn't draw from any of your chests. You just have to combine ingredients with the same "effect" (once you've invested in the perk to even see those effects) and then hope you stumble on something useful. PLUS the vast majority of alchemy ingredients are forage-only items, so you end up with the same issue. - Generation of dungeons and other structures at present feels very hit and miss. Frequently went adventuring into some dungeon only to find that half of it was missing because there was a huge hole. - NPC villages feel very unrewarding at present. The vendors don't have much money so they won't be able to buy much of your unwanted loot unless you spend a ton of cash with them first. Considering that most of their inventory is junk, this is extremely disappointing to loot goblins such as myself and my partner. - Villagers can randomly become psychopaths en masse and begin trying to butcher you and every pheasant and capybara on their island for no apparent reason. - Loot overall is very unrewarding at present, even "unique" items require upgrading before they feel remotely powerful. - Combat feels extremely unbalanced at present. Enemy stamina recovers in about 1 second after being exhausted, and they are able to hit you from miles away and are also able to cancel their power-attack mid-swing and then poke you instead (which makes timing parries nigh impossible at times). Playing in co-op we also found that many enemy attacks can hit both of you, regardless of whether you are in front or behind the enemy. Your own attacks don't have such sweep, and your own stamina recovers at the speed of a geriatric snail after being exhausted. - Some enemies (such as skeletons) can dodge your attacks, whereas you have no dodge ability at all (other than sprinting away, except their reach is so ridiculous they will often cane your bum anyway). - Parrying system needs a lot of work; some enemies (such as rats, steamer crawlers, and bears) are extremely difficult to parry because their attacks are too quick. Bears in particular are extremely overpowered and can easily exhaust your stamina with a few hits while their own reserve seems unlimited. There needs to be a better system for indicating when you should parry an attack. - The health pools of enemies get very bloated very quickly, but your damage doesn't really keep up with it through 'natural' looting of new armour/weapons. Facing off against a boss with 11,000 odd hit points while you do maybe 55-90 per hit feels really bad - and while you can upgrade your weapons, it requires resources that are too rare without a MASSIVE grind. Summary: Overall at the moment the game is bogged down in too many cons to be enjoyable. It's just a massive grind without much reward. Hopefully the devs will address some of these issues as time goes on. I really do sincerely hope that eventually Everwind will be a satisfying and rewarding experience for players - it's just not right now. Some of the systems (food, farming, alchemy, combat) feel very underbaked at present. The game also needs to decide if it WANTS you to HAVE to explore specifically for ingredients, or whether it wants you to be able to create a satisfyingly self-sufficient, mobile base. The pull between the two at the moment feels antagonistic rather than complimentary when you just want to get on with exploring instead of worrying about how much honey you have in reserve.

This game is for people who enjoy sandbox games combined with RPG elements. Like Minecraft, the Elder Scrolls or Fallout games. Every area tells a silent story and it's up to you to explore. As long as you understand that and like games of that nature you cannot go wrong but if you are looking for a quick dopamine rush then you are at the wrong place. Everwind can be very relaxing or engaging depending on what you do! All in all Everwind is a immersive Sandbox game where you build your own ship the way you want, fly around, explore Islands and as long as you have a goal and enough imagination you won't get bored. Positive: + You choose where you go, you can scout the Islands with your spyglass + Depending on the size and content of the Island it can take 10 minutes or 1 hour to fully explore 1 Island + Multiple Biomes each having their own enemy types, Undead, Bandits, Insects, Wildlife, Goblins, Machines + Human Settlements to trade give a nice change of pace from the combat + Your building, crafting and upgrading options are quite extensive. You can build anything that you can destroy if you find the blueprints and you can craft any existing weapon and armour except Uniques. + Sword (Axes,Maces) n' Board / Two-Handed Weapons / Dual-wield Daggers and Claws / Bow (wide range of different arrows) / Magic (Damage, Heal, Summoning). You choose what you want to use they all have their strategic aspects and nothing feels useless. + Non-linear exploration: Hidden Chambers, Caved in rooms, Areas you cannot access without building bridges. Exploration is rewarded if you look around! ---------------------- Negative: - No Pause button! Im a human i have to answer the Phone, i have to poop... It's not a big deal since there is no hunger or anything but it just doesn't feel right - Ship Hitbox is box shaped. Means your ship will collide with trees even if it doesn't touch them (Devs said that it could be done for the 1.0 Version) - Some content or loot is very rare and since everything is randomly generated it can take you a while to find what you are looking for. ---------------------- Work in Progress due to Early access: +/- Death doesn't really have a meaning or Penalty. You drop some items from your Inventory which you can pick up again. Eventually there will be more gamemodes like hardcore and so on. So there will be anything for casual players and players who want a more challenging experience. +/- Combat is not the best but by far not the worst. It get's the job done. +/- Talent trees are incomplete. +/- No consequences for looting settlements +/- Quests are very basic at the moment. Only xp rewarding standard fetch quests ---------------------- Everwind is already fun to play and there is a lot to do. In 50 Hours i still haven't met every boss or maxed out my ship's capabilities and for my preferences that's good because i don't want a game that im done with in 20 hours. What it needs now is more time, polish and love. It has definitely a lot of potential to become in my opinion one of the best sandbox games.

Waiting for 1.0 as this game is lacking like.. ALOT? As the game is hardly completed, the only fun is to design and build your very first flying ship.. after that - it's just grind for the sake of grinding ^^ -no PAUSE (even in menu) for SINGLE player mode! WTF? -no option to DELETE items (not throwing around, not stuffing in containers ect.) -no craftable lockpics and/or keys (currently buildings can have ~10-15 locked containers, with loot variating from total trash to.. something better = lot of grinding for ways to open with low chance for something worth it) -some key work both-way, some only one-way (e.g. TAB opens and close inventory, but C only opens crafting, can't close it this way) -making a lot of fuss about adding new, exciting content and events, while not completing already existing content: Engineer still only 1 skill line; a lot of Steamer blocks and objects but still no possibility to "mine" it (there is no Drill [?] ); -not every station uses "proximity chest" (e.g. when upgrading weapons/armor you need to have items in the inventory, not in the chests) -combat in general: yours vs enemies melee range, stamina usage, damage, health.. not sure if anything here is good ^^ -islands are not really that variable, so it gets boring fast.. and you need to "visit" a lot of those to feel even slightest progression -no substitutes for ship parts - what's the point of creativity in designing even the creaziest ship, if in the end you need to attach baloons (and turbine-engines, and old furnace-generators) to make it fly? *latest update [?]* -vendors no longer buy everything (e.g. recipes) AND recipes stays after learning = see the problem here? (and still no deleting items) TL;DR: great concept, still a lot of work ahead. postpone the buying, or try when discounted ;)

It's too early at the moment. While the games core foundation is pretty good, the devs themselves admit that the majority of the game is rough/kinda sucks right now and is going to be completely rebalanced.

I can't recommend this game in its current state. It has a good premise: fly around with your custom built ship and explore various islands and dungeons. Voxel vehicles is what we wished to have in other voxel games for a very long time. The ship also doubles as your base which is a plus. Me and my brother thought positively about the game at the beginning. However, the game currently has pacing and balancing issues that worsen the experience: Some resources are extremely difficult to obtain and you are perpetually forced to look for them if you try to interact with systems that need them, like magic and alchemy. Some resources are also tied to something specific like biomes or creatures, so good luck. If you play coop, the resources you find are split among the party leaving you with even less resources per player. The food and farming system is underwhelming, needy, and unusable in most cases. The better food you cook will basically only give you flat increased healing or stamina regeneration and nothing else. You aren't rewarded for crafting specific foods with certain buffs. Requirement for food though is necessary if you tend to get hit sometimes as it's the only health regeneration mechanic in the game (besides health potions), so you are required to spend resources on food or potions, and the higher your max health is the harder it is to heal it up with cheaper/more common resources. The farming mechanic stops you from exploring further up which makes little sense considering what the goal of the game is. The upgrade to let you do this is rarer than winning the lottery apparently so farming on-ship was not obtainable throughout my playtime and we had to forage for food all the time. Third, the skill trees are borderline cosmetic. There are only a few meaningful skills to get like the parry mechanic, but other than that you will encounter meaningless skills that won't help you 80-90% of the time. The upgrade station doesn't specify this but each upgrade has a chance to give you a small stat boost beside the fixed main stats upgrade (e.g. damage, armour), but those stats are usually too small to be perceived (e.g. +2-5% crit chance. Potions also suffer from low percentages). Better armour and equipment is locked into 5 separate skills points (armour, melee, ranged, magic, mining) so it's hard to switch once you commit. One advanced equipment type I have never saw in my playtime was the advanced mining equipment. There are no quests beyond the first few like the tutorial island. While yes, it's an exploration game, but it could have helped in cases where we would end up discovering the same things, dud islands with the most common of resources for hours on end. Even just directing us to advance into the game (like the aforementioned farming gear) would have helped a lot if we started to lose the fun in exploration. The above is criticism can be fixed, and I hope the developers do make some changes on full release.

[*] Budowanie Jeżeli ktoś lubi survivale i stawianie własnej bazy, można tutaj spędzić sporo czasu na kombinowaniu z wyglądem i układem statku. [*] Crafting i rozwój Zbieranie materiałów i stopniowe ulepszanie wyposażenia daje tę klasyczną survivalową satysfakcję. Dziesiąty zaczyna przypominać dojazd do pracy.

So far I have 35 hours and took a break cause I feel like a constant playing of a game will cause burn out. So when I play its normally around 2 or so hours. I also understand this game is in early access and a lot of things are subject to change within it. The things i'm going to state within are the current issues I have with this game and potentially give the devs a better insight. Within the time I have played I have enjoyed the following: 1. The building you can do for your air bases. 2. The exploration you can commence within this game. 3. The RPG style it has going for it. 4. The melee combat system. 5. Actually having safe towns to relax in to trade with. 6. The many items you can decorate your base with is pretty awesome. 7. Being able to make potions to assist with various things within the game. Now for the things that I have issues with regarding the game. 1. The range at which enemies can hit you. They have a few meters longer range even though you feel you may be out of the way from an attack you still manage to get smacked. With what I can call shorter reach weapons that aren't 2 handed weapons but can hit me 2 or maybe 3 blocks away. I am aware of parrying in the game or blocking but sometimes I just wanna get out of the way then waste stamina. 2. The stamina within this game can be fairly upsetting at times. I feel as if we could use a trinket that boosts regen of stamina cause it becomes an issue trying to back away and can't block damage due to being charged at by 3 or more mobs in a dungeon. 3. Blocking in this game is very nice if its single mobs. I have gone into dungeons and accidently pulled 3 or more and tried blocking all attacks only for the damage to bypass the shield with stamina mind you. I feel the shield only takes into account of the first attack and then the attacks after it just bypasses. Due to this I often just go full attack mode instead of worrying about blocking damage with more than 1 enemy. 4. In the higher altitudes when you get to the jungle biome the raptors attack speed is insane. I have died countless times cause I cannot block an attack to retaliate without being damaged. I am aware of parrying with animals I have a tougher time with and even more so when the raptors attack speed. 5. Armor in this game is really cool but often feels weird as when I had full copper and leveled it up to +2 I often still took some serious damage. Sometimes I feel mobs do a tad bit more damage like raptors and the native enemies. The raptors take a good 24% or so of my HP but the native enemies do about 8% damage. I often make a pillar of dirt to shoot them with arrows or magic. 6. I'm half and half on the blueprint system within this game. This is due to blueprints being a major staple in getting stronger on the current difficulty zone you're in. I often get more of the same parts I already have known than the ones I really need. Finding them in bigger dungeons can be a gamble. Cause you either get lucky with elite monsters or find them in containers within the dungeon. I like it as well cause it keeps you striving to find the pieces to complete a set or get better equipment along with still exploring the world. 7. Skills requiring points be placed to use better equipment. This I have an issue with cause if you can make it what is preventing you from using it. These could be replaced with skills that make a serious impact on combat than just requiring it to use the next level of equipment. A much better system would be having a specific island that has someone who will teach you or give you the knowledge to use the next tier items with of course a cost. Like have a warrior, ranger, mage NPC on an island that is like a challenge before you can use the next tier or even pay for the knowledge. 8. I feel the game should have a more natural HP regen system. I know it has one when you are super low on HP and it has saved me a few times. I feel like in regards to the skills issue have a skill that when maxed gives 3hp every 3-5seconds. So like 1hp -> 2hp -> 3hp and give it a 3-5 second cooldown so that you aren't just instantly getting HP back. Or even add a trinket that provides a hp regen like I was saying for the stamina issue. I by no means think this is a bad game and of course this is still early access. With that in mind these things I have issues with may change in the near future and i'm going to mark this as a thumbs up cause I do genuinely enjoy the experience overall I am given with this game and look forward to future updates!
