Final Fantasy VII is one of those games where I genuinely wish I had played it sooner. When I first got into the Final Fantasy series, I mostly knew FF7 because of all the hype around the remakes. After finally playing the original, I can definitely understand why this game became so popular. The game just has so much soul. The characters are great and I got attached to the cast really quickly. The interactions between the main cast feels really natural and even a lot of the NPC interactions are surprisingly good. I also really liked how the game uses foreshadowing in certain parts of the story. The story is much deeper than I expected and deals with a lot of interesting and darker themes. Cloud especially is such an interesting character and seeing his struggles and development throughout the game was one of my favorite parts. Even with the old graphics, I really liked the atmosphere. Midgar and the rest of the world have a very unique feeling that I don't think the graphics take away from. The combat is also still really fun, especially because of the Materia system which gives you a lot of freedom to build your characters however you want. And of course, the soundtrack is just amazing and makes some of the game's best moments so much better. The graphics have obviously aged quite a bit, but honestly, that didn't bother me nearly as much as I expected. There are also some really good mods that can make the game look much better. It's a really special game and one that I genuinely wish I had experienced much earlier. I can't wait to play the remakes now.

Final Fantasy VII para mim ainda é um clássico que merece ser rejogado. Não joguei o remake ainda por conta dessa palhaçada que a Square fez de dividir o jogo em mais de três partes enchendo linguiça na historia que já era arrastada em alguns momentos no classico, mas entendo que, para quem quer só conhecer a história de cabo a rabo em um tiro só, a experiência completa do jogo Classico de 97 ainda pode valer a pena. Para jogar essa versão original hoje, você precisa vir de coração aberto. O jogo mostra a idade logo na tela de titulo. Os personagens são extremamente simples, os cenários pré-renderizados parecem bem estranhos nos monitores atuais e algumas limitações técnicas ficam na sua cara o tempo todo. Os encontros aleatórios também cansam, algumas partes são claramente mais arrastadas e determinados minigames parecem que foram feitos para aumentar o conteúdo do que para divertir. Ainda assim, para mim, a história continua sendo o principal motivo para jogar. Os personagens são bem interessantes e a narrativa consegue trabalhar cada um de uma maneira que continua funcionando até hoje. Como eu disse, Final Fantasy VII é um clássico que merece ser revisitado não porque continua bonito, mas porque sua história continua sendo espetacular. Se você der uma chance ao jogo e conseguir superar suas limitações, acredito que vai terminar a jornada bastante satisfeito com o tempo que passou aqui.

是很经典的好游戏，但是玩这个新版还不如玩13老版，都重新上架了也不给个中文真的挺靠腰的，关键更新了还给很多汉化补丁也搞得用不了了，要是官方能更新个官方中文那还行，26版就加了几个没什么用的作弊功能，体积还翻了一倍，关键打上第七天堂之后所有这些更新还都会被废掉，感觉没有任何用处的更新

**10/10** Final Fantasy VII is one of those games that feels like much more than just a great RPG. Even after all these years, its world, characters, atmosphere, and story still have something special that many modern games struggle to recreate. What I love most is how memorable everything is. Cloud, Sephiroth, the rest of the cast, the locations, the music — almost every part of the game left an impression on me. The story can be strange and sometimes messy, but it has a unique identity and never feels afraid to be itself. The gameplay is also simple by today's standards, but the materia system gives you a lot of freedom to experiment with your party and builds. For me, this isn't just one of the best Final Fantasy games. It's one of my favorite games ever made. If you haven't played it yet, don't let the age fool you. The graphics may be old, but the heart of this game absolutely isn't.

FF7 is great, but...not this version. While it works a lot better with a controller than the previous version, this one is still bad out of the box. I'd suggest a console version if at all possible, I tested the updated version on my Switch and it works WORLDS better than either steam version ever did. Sound's better, too, whatever they did on the experience gain screen just has the sound effect constantly restarting while the bar fills up, it's bizarre.

Me parece una falta de respeto a la comunidad española que hayáis decidido corregir el mítico "Allévoy" de la traducción original. Final Fantasy VII es un juego que forma parte de mi infancia y al que le tengo un cariño enorme. La historia, los personajes, la música... todo sigue siendo una maravilla y me ha encantado volver a jugarlo después de tantos años. PERO. La traducción española original era una auténtica obra de arte. ¿Era mala? Sí. ¿Tenía errores? Por supuesto. ¿Había diálogos que no tenían ningún sentido? Absolutamente. ¿Era precisamente por eso una parte entrañable del juego? También. Y ahora llegáis vosotros y decidís corregir el "Allévoy". ¿¿¿QUÉ??? ¿Y esta falta de respeto? Porque la parte donde dicen: "Mira a Rompe-aire, el soldado del tecno." Eso sí que lo habéis dejado. Si vais a arreglar la traducción, arregladla entera. Pero no me quitéis el mítico "Allévoy" mientras dejáis todos los demás diálogos extraños, absurdos y sin sentido. O se arregla toda la traducción o no se arregla nada. El juego: 10/10. La decisión de tocar el "Allévoy": 0/10.

Do NOT get this version, it's just a simpler launcher and with the speedup/no battle cheats built-in. I wish Square Enix actually gave a damn and finally polished up the PC version of FF7, but the sound is glitching and cutting off all over the place. Sometimes the battle models appear mangled or duplicate. Thanks DotEmu, you did it again!
