Graze Counter
Graze the enemy’s bullets, Charge them head-on, and Wreak Havoc!! An exhilarating and dangerous shoot-em-up!
This is a game for those with courage and survival instinct!
It is the 23rd century, and the virtual network “EDEN” has brought about an era of peace and prosperity. One day, it refuses access from the administrator – seemingly out of nowhere.
The 2.4 million civilians connected to the network became hostages within cyberspace.
EDEN then presented humanity with an ultimatum:
To release those hostages, a human must fight the now evolved network and win. Two capable fighter pilots have been chosen for this difficult task.
The fate of humanity is in their hands…
Graze the enemy’s bullets to charge the Graze Counter Gauge! Every fighter can use this gauge to unleash powerful counters.
In addition, by collecting the stars that enemies (and countered bullets) drop, you can charge your Break Gauge. When this is full, you can enter “Break Mode” and do some serious damage to your enemies!
Dodge your enemy’s bullets by a hair, charge your energy, and annihilate the enemy with your counterattack!

Graze Counter — not for me, and not ready for Steam Deck I only played this for a few minutes, so treat this as a first-impressions review rather than a verdict on the full game. But those few minutes were enough to tell me this isn't for me, and enough to spot problems that have nothing to do with taste. Steam Deck: "Playable" is doing a lot of work here It's marked as Playable, and technically that's accurate — it runs, you can play it. But basic things are done badly, and they'd be trivial to fix: [*] B as the default "continue" button. This is backwards from the platform standard and it throws you off constantly. [*] Special shot on A, which is an unusual mapping for the genre. [*] Various other small defaults that just feel wrong out of the box. None of this is a technical limitation. It's a controller layout, and it hasn't been thought through for the Deck. One genuine positive: the controls are displayed as a controller diagram before the game starts. That's a good, clear way to do it and I wish more games bothered. The intro is confusing Strange and disorienting, and not in a way that made me want to keep going. It doesn't set anything up well. Cluttered UI The in-game UI is hard to read at a glance. Combined with the vertical arcade-style playfield — which I'm personally not a fan of — it makes the whole thing less legible than it needs to be. The vertical format is a genre convention, I get it, but here it actively works against clarity rather than for it. The anime girls Not my thing. That's entirely a matter of personal taste and everyone can decide for themselves — but it added to my overall dislike rather than pulling me back in. Verdict Honestly? Nothing about it was inviting. I didn't enjoy it, and I stopped early. To be fair to the game: a few minutes is not a fair sample, and shmup fans who like vertical arcade layouts and the art style may well get a lot out of it. My complaints about the presentation are subjective. My complaints about the Steam Deck defaults are not — those are easy fixes that would improve the experience for everyone. Not recommended, on Deck especially.
