the only complaint i could really have is that the gameplay may not be appealing, its just going back and forth, but you cannot really improve it, i mean the only real solution would be to make it totally a vn but you would lose part of the charm of the level design. also the soundtrack is fire and the characters are waaaay better in this game tho, for its duration it does a great job in all that stuff. one could argue the game is just filled with abuse to the point where you may grow numb to it, meanwhile comfort scenes dont last long enough to make up for the bs that happens before and after. depending on the person it may be a problem, making the experience more superficial, but overall i do think this game its just not meant for everyone, the extent of how relatable you may find the experiences or emotions this game has to offer will determine your experience overall. aside from that i think its good for the game itself that it has this problem, it fits with the whole setting and its not even something impossible to relate to. the way this game displays feelings makes it feel too intimate, atleast i personally felt like this whole work its just the author stabbing herself with some rusty knife and stabbing me back with it, mixed with blood and the most disgusting, raw stuff she could find in her heart, expecting me to understand it or embrace it. i personally have a hard time relating or understanding all this sentimental stuff but despite that this game left me with a bad body, like all that stabbing had her colors blended with mine in a disgusting scenery, or simply after such display my true colors had come to light. i think its pretty obvious that in some way this whole work its just venting stuff, for that reason i guess you can find it just pretencious and lame if you cannot embrace it to some degree. i find it difficult to delve deeper into these topics without making the whole stuff look like im just venting, so ill just leave these unscattered thoughts all over the place.

It's a fun hidden gem, in the vein of OFF. The art style is beautiful. The gameplay itself is not much to look at, and can be pretty frustrating, but the story and characters are engaging. The writing can get a little edgy, though.

Words can’t describe how beautiful this game is. The plot, soundtrack, story, and most importantly the characters themselves were all incredible. I’m really glad Episode 2 let me learn more about their backstories and understand them better. The story is genuinely lovely, and I love how the game can make a scene feel beautiful, sad, unsettling, or even disturbing when it needs to. It does such a good job of creating the right atmosphere for every moment. I also found parts of the game relatable. As someone who deals with constant anxiety and absolutely hates school, some scenes hit especially close to home, especially when they reminded me of things I’ve experienced myself. Honestly a 10/10, cant wait to play ep3. Honestly, if you have a friend playing this game, maybe check up on them.. :sob:

One of the best psychological horrors i ever played and the art style is just so unique and wonderful, although i will admit gameplay can be annoying and for some reasons sound gets glitchy sometimes but overall its 11/10 game

Hello Charlotte is one of my all time favorite RPGMaker game series, replaying them now has me appreciating the interesting writing quirks of etherane. The story of these games is like nothing else you can find and its filled with fun puzzles to keep you on your toes. Episode 1 feels a lot more like a traditional RPGMaker game at some points, even using a lot of premade assets at certain points, but the way this is weaved into the narrative is very well done and isnt too distracting. Whereas Episode 2 is wholly original and much longer than Episode 1, with more characters and multiple endings, it even includes a battle system this time around though it is a bit redundant and doesn't contribute too much outside of solidifying story elements and visual aspects of the game. If you enjoy Episode 1 you will very much enjoy Episode 2, definitely pick this up.

I've always been an rpg maker horror games' fan but it took me a long time to play HC, wish I did it sooner, it was so relatable and sad but I loved every second of this journey, everything about this game is so unique and personal. Could be very triggering for some people tho, be careful.
