If I had to choose between positive and negative, I think this game rather deserves negative unfortunately. What is good: - It is still High on Life game, kind of funny and interesting to play, though does not feel as good as first game to me. - Nice level design that quite good to explore with skateboard. - Some bosses had interesting unique things about them. What is bad: - Very high price for what you get. I bought this with 40% discount and still don't quite feel that this was a good deal. I would not recommend buying with discount less than 50%. - Game breaking bugs (yes, still are there). Something breaks, some triggers not triggering and you simply can not progress and forced to reload, of course you will first waste bunch of time trying to understand what you did wrong. - Sound bugs, often I literally don't hear what characters say, but they do say something, I see in subtitles they do. - Absolute trash optimization, this game does not have graphics on such a level to show this performance. Crimson Desert with much better graphics runs miles better on my rig. - Frequent FPS drops. - Bad UI. Map is trash in all aspects of usability, it also very annoying how long it takes to open it. All other pieces of interface are not very convenient to use too. If not for the poor technical state of the game, then I would likely give it positive, though still would not be worth the full price. I also don't like that the game released in even worse technical state initially. Not sure I will be willing to buy another game from this studio, unless they significantly improve.

This game is full of bugs. Constantly freezes and crashes at the worst times. This game is in desperate need of a huge fix. Do not buy this game until it has a huge update with a lot of fixes.

Super fun, had several crashes (all managable), and beat the main game in 11 hours. hope theres a dlc where i can get kenny back and some kind of endless hunting where there feels like a reason to keep playing but hey super fun definately will play again

If you like Rick and Morty humour then you may enjoy this game. It is not the most polished game, but it is fun and quick and full of laughs. I would only buy this when it is cheap - definitely not worth the full asking price.

Cannot recommend this game because it runs atrociously, needs a lot of updates to have it optimized.

Had a blast with the game until the final boss fight. The platforming in this game is truly awful. The mechanics are buggy. Tether points and grinding frequently bug out and don't work. And what's the final boss fight? 10 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes of skateboarding down a hallway while dealing with garbage platforming mechanics that constantly ♥♥♥♥ the bed. Ending the game with such a crap fight soured the whole experience.

As someone who considers the first High on Life to be one of the best games I have ever played, starting the sequel felt like a punch in the gut. I recently bought a brand-new, high-end gaming PC and couldn’t wait to jump in, expecting that raw, chaotic, improvised "Rick and Morty" style of humor. Instead, the first half of the game left me deeply disappointed. It felt corporate, safe, and mechanically flawed. But I am so incredibly glad I pushed through, because the second half completely saved the experience. My main grievance with High on Life 2 is that it feels incredibly tamed down. The developers clearly got scared of censorship or controversy after Justin Roiland's departure, so they self-censored the game to make it a "safe, mainstream product." The unique, chaotic improvisation is entirely gone, and the weapon chemistry is severely damaged without Kenny's iconic voice I constantly found myself missing the literal WTF moments from the first game and the High on Knife DLC. Remember buying "Alien ♥♥♥" from that sketchy guy just to have it sit in your inventory while your gun screams at you? Remember arguing with the red and blue alien worms about who is hotter just to get through a gate? Remember guarding a random alien’s bike by staring at it or bathing with the nude alien and then cleaning hes ass in high on knife?Remember the absolute shock of shooting the annoying "Slums Kid" and hearing Kenny panic about losing the game's E-for-Everyone rating? Or literally getting inside of an anus of the alein creature to travel? None of that edgy, dirty, ballsy humor is present here. There is no risk-taking. The game design itself actively harms the comedy The first part of the game suffers from a major game design conflict. The developers introduced a fast-paced skateboard mechanic, which is fun to use, but it forced them to make the maps 5,000 times bigger. Because of this, the worlds often feel like an empty void that you just zoom through. In the first game, walking slowly forced you to naturally interact with the world and discover legendary, bizarre bits (like shooting the annoying kid in the Slums or guarding a random alien's bike). In the sequel, the skateboard creates a restless "ADHD feeling" where you just want to rush forward, completely ruining the organic interaction with NPCs. To make matters worse, the developers artificially slowed you down by cramming the maps with tedious, horribly designed electrical puzzles involving a random guy's head. It completely killed the "Doom-style" action flow. On top of that, the technical optimization is a mess. "Blue Wizard" retro world was so broken and bugged out that I had to restart checkpoints 5 times and do the quests again just to progress. Later, the "Big Mutant” boss fight on the farm caused a catastrophic performance drop down to literal 5 FPS during her three annoying revives and transformations. - The Good: When the Game Finally Finds Its Soul Everything changes after the slow start. While the luxury yacht section was nothing special, the game completely shifts gears the moment you go to save the father on the farm. The transition to Earth—riding on rails, fighting uniform-wearing cultists, and dealing with demonic monsters—finally brought back that "normally weird" fiction vibe. The character writing completely saves the game in the later hours. Travis's girlfriend/wife drama made the game genuinely hilarious. Even our own mother’s romantic relationship with Lezduit, which results in them having a literal alien-gun baby named Jeffy. It is the most random, and brilliant thing, and it’s exactly the kind of wIerdness i play this franchise for. The alien court scene is another absolute masterpiece of game design. It was intense, funny, and beautifully built. Earlier in the game, the Senator Muppy Doo boss fight also showed incredible creativity by literally hacking your pause menu, changing your language and forcing you to play a retro NES games. - The Finale and Verdict: The ending completely redeemed the entire journey. Facing a surviving member of the old G3 cartel as the final boss was pure adrenaline. And just like the first game (where you got a joke achievement for spending 15 hours in an Alien Strip Club), the sequel delivers another hilarious, custom troll achievement that put a massive smile on my face. High on Life 2 is a game of two completely different halves. If you judge it by the first 40%, it feels like a buggy, censored corporate product. But if you have the patience to get to the farm, the court, and the party shop, it turns in to more spectacular, funny, and deeply satisfying ride.

While this game is fun, and entertaining, the fun and entertainment come between the actual gameplay loop. Shooting feels underwhelming, even with all upgrades the weapons feel like they have the impact of a water gun in the worst way. If you're playing through the main story and nothing else, this game sucks, it's just a Walmart brand Doom or Halo clone, but if you take your time, explore, play the mini games and such its actually really fun. You need to play the first one to understand most of whats going on and some jokes. It's a game to play when you're feeling glonky off the giggle bush and want to play a video game, but none in particular if that makes sense.
