the game feels like an actual Indiana Jones movie, it does great in that department, although there are a bunch of things about it that felt out of place, most prominently; Gina. Her relationship with Indiana felt so forced and thrown together, I didn't feel an emotional connection between them forming at all. Her accompanying Jones everywhere didn't help, as I just wanted Indi to go solo and enjoy his character, but that was impossible for me this way. Her "outsmarting" Jones at almost every puzzle didn't make sense, as he is an expert archeologist, meanwhile she is a random reporter. They really tried making Gina feel like a strong independent woman who is smarter than Jones and doesn't need him, but it just feel flat on its face. You also need a STRONG pc to even run this game at medium graphics with frame generation and upscaling turned on. wild. also huge game size and after a while the game can feel repetative and tedious. even ~2 years after release, there are still game mechanics that are buggy (and i can guarantee they won't get fixed) The ending was full of things that didn't make sense, it was genuinely hard to sit through

ABCOLUTE CINEMA!

If you are looking for a good looking game with a good story and good gameplay, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will fit your needs. Is the game perfect? No. But it is certainly not bad. Some of the negative things about the game: If you are the type of person that wants a gaming experience that offers rage inducing challenges, look the other way, cause even on the hardest difficulty, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is way easier than it should be. The most challenging part was the optional fight clubs, but once you have maxed out all of your skills, even these get rather easy. If you want to revisit a previous location to find things you've missed, it is fairly simple, but looking for clues to chest/safe codes in your notes can be a little tedious at times if you forgot to unlock it on your first visit because you didn't pay attention to what the notes said. And you will not be reading every single note, cause throughout the game you will collect hundreds of notes, and reading every single one would take hours. For the most part looking through your notes is fairly simple, but if you have already completed the game and are going back to unlock all the achievements, it can be a little tedious to find the exact note you are looking for since you have so many, so beware of that. Replayability is not really a thing with this game in my opinion. Once you have completed the game, there is not really anything else to experience. Especially if you have already gotten all the achievements. The game does offer you a New Game+, but if you have already collected all the adventure books, unlocked every skill, beaten the game on the hardest difficulty, there is nothing new to gain from a New Game+ playthrough, as the game will not unlock a secret harder difficulty setting, and since you will be playing with all your previous skills unlocked, it will only make the game more of a cake walk. Might be good for speedruns however, so if that is your thing, then this might be something you will find interesting. All in all Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a good game. It looks great, is very well-optimized and the gameplay is nice, especially if you like first person view. And if you grew up watching the movies, this game is sure to bring some nostalgia to you, that you will most definitely appreciate. I rate it 8.2/10

The BEST Immersive Sim I've played since Dishonored and Prey. Far more than just a movie-based adventure game, this is an excellently voice acted thrill ride from start to finish, with side quests that are just as robust as the main quest and collectibles that are actually rewarding to seek out. As rare a gem as any artifact Indy finds on his travels. PROS: - GRAPHICS/VISUALS: Among the best I've seen in a video game, and able to push the best GFX cards to the max - VOICE ACTING: Troy Baker should receive highest honors for some of the best VA work in a video game. You will literally forget that it's not Harrison Ford voicing Indiana Jones. - LEVEL DESIGN: Every location is fully fleshed out, beautiful and tailored to the classic Imm Sim gameplay - GAMEPLAY: Really FEEL like Indiana Jones with his tools, abilities and the addictive Imm Sim elements throughout. Way too rare in today's gaming landscape - WRITING/CINEMATOGRAPHY: Some of the best writing in ANY Indiana Jones adventure, and was shot so well and written so well that it stands side by side with the original trilogy in presentation and story. CONS: - GINA: While there are some good interactions with her in the story, any mission including her was clunky as she often broke immersion by just wandering into enemy sight lines. Props to the devs for actually having her FIGHT enemies occasionally, haven't ever seen that in games with tagalong companions, but nonetheless, I always preferred solo missions - GIRLBOSSING: While the first 2/3rds of the game the devs kept Gina's girl-bossing to a minimum, it really gets turned up in the last couple of locations, even reaching some insufferable dialog in the final area. A wholly unnecessary stain on an otherwise flawless product. In Conclusion, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is everything I wanted from an Indy game and MUCH more. The spectacle, gorgeous visuals, addicting Imm Sim gameplay and one of the best Indy stories puts this game at a 9.5/10 for me!

The magic and charm of this game makes it the best Indiana Jones movie in more than 35 years. Thank you!

The story was great, and the graphics looked really good. It genuinely felt like an Indiana Jones adventure, and I had a lot of fun playing through the main game. I wasn't as keen on the DLC though. There were way too many puzzles one after another, and after a while it started to feel like a bit of a chore. It also felt like it was missing some of the story that made the main game so good. Still, I don't think that takes away from how good the base game is. Overall, I really enjoyed it and had a great time with it. Achievement note: The “Collect All Notes” achievement didn’t pop for me even though I’d collected everything. I had to go back to the Vatican and take a picture of the Jesus puzzle again before the achievement finally unlocked. 8.5/10

9/27/2026 - This review was meant to be posted last year after I have finished the game and it's DLC Expansion, The Order of Giants. My motivation of wanting to watch the Dial of Destiny just to write this review was tarnished long ago after seeing many reviews of it. A game and a movie in between the first and second Indiana Jones trilogy movies. Gameplay is like Wolfenstein meets Uncharted in First Person View but less emphasis on using guns and more on Melee combat, Stealth, Platforming, and Puzzle Solving. Troy Baker giving the best performance by actually voicing like Harrison Ford himself who plays Indiana Jones. It's near perfection for his voice acting. They even re-created the scene from The Raiders of the Lost Ark in-game with some walking sections to get the feel of the controls. Oh yes, the punch sound effects from the movies is here as well. :) Many reasons that this game didn't sell well in it's launch day possibly because of: 1.) Forced and Mandatory RayTracing capable Graphics Card requirement on PC: "bUt dUh technology iS evolving. GEt oVEr it and tImE tO UPgrAdE." So it's the most Down-Syndrome infused excuse to market Nvidia Raytracing Graphics Card to the masses. Yeah, sure. It's true that we are living in the days where a requirement for a specific graphical feature that costs a kidney. Just like back in the day where Crysis back in 2007 dominated the PC gaming marketspace. Sometimes it comes to a certain point of life, we got to move past it's hurdles and inconveniences of living in the past and move through time. The question is, am I watching or supposed to be playing a video game? I play video games to have fun and be challenged. Not to stare at pretty realistic reflections on a puddle of water or Gina Lombardi's water splashed ass during Suhkothai level. No wonder only people with Raytracing graphics cards can play this game. Basically cutting off the rest with those without it. Keep in mind that Indiana Jones and the Great Circles runs on Motor Engine. A game engine forked from Id Tech Engine 7 that powered Doom Eternal. That is designed and favors performance while retaining visual fidelity at a certain parameter. The problem with Raytracing isn't just the fact that is one of the most taxing feature. It's the fact that is not ready to deliver at a certain level of delivering performance at a minimal performance overhead at this time. Graphical settings like Multi-Sampling Anti-Aliasing, Shadow Details, and specific API graphic feature used to be performance killers back in the day are now can be easily succeeded and be used in low to mid-range graphics card with sufficient VRAM today along with better memory technology with increased bandwidth and the smaller die size of the main chip itself with increased processing power while having less wattage required to be operated. Raytracing needs more time to be baked in the oven in order to reach wider PC consumers and gamers not just exclusive to high-end users. Time will tell. As long it is not "optimized" by the dreaded Upscalers from Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR. 2.) Too many games to play: Can't blame people on this especially when you release a game in the largest digital marketplace for video games on PC. Even with Microsoft Store on Xbox and social media marketing of the game in general couldn't save the game financially. So many games have a lot of common with Indiana Jones especially when said game already had ideas forked from games inspired within the Indiana Jones franchise. Games like Tomb Raider, Thief, Dishonored, and the Uncharted series. This game combines almost all of it's elements from the games mentioned. In fact, Indie games that are priced around $5-$10 or Triple-A level produced Indie games are peaking around because they are becoming more innovative with the new ideas of gameplay mechanics and a unique story to tell. 3.) No PlayStation release at launch (PS5 version took 5 months later), Steam Deck verified status took a while too (because they had to cater to the device that has the power of a slightly less powerful PS4 GPU hardware so many people can buy and play this game.) 4.) It's made for "Modern Audience" and the reputation of the sentence alone accumulated notoriously for applying political correctness and social justice in entertainment: With that Infamous Trailer by Bethesda, you could just Google it by adding "Modern audience" next to the title of this game and I promise you, you'll be also turned off by this one aside from the audiences with this one. As soon as I played it, most of it's "modernized" writing are not here and in fact it feels very grounded for its lore in the game. The game sets in between the Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Temple of Doom. Some people say that the inclusion of a female protagonist like Gina in this game will ruin the writing or the story probably because of the recent Indiana Jones movie that includes another female protagonist who supports the main character in which she is not directly responsible for the slightly above average story of that movie (according to the user reviews). When playing the game, Gina is more laid back and actually likeable in this game. So that serves as a pass for me when they a made character like that. 5.) The Mid-Slop of the recent Indiana Jones movie from 2023, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (according to general user reviews) 6.) MachineGames' previous creative decision towards their last game, Wolfenstein Youngblood and the spin-off VR game: With MachineGames' previous game that they worked with, Wolfenstein Youngblood, also another one to tarnish a game developer's reputation through crappy game design and decision making towards the lore of the rebooted version of Wolfenstein back in 2014. I loathed this game. I tried to have an open mind because it was mixed to negative to it's reception of the game just to enjoy the game as a whole. Oh boy, this Borderlands rip-off duct-taped with the most basic and generic RPG mechanics I have ever played. The gameplay is the same with The New Colossus but with a double jump and some new weapons and the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ continuation of the story and the most unlikeable, unrelatable, and puncheable-in-the-face kind of new character duos of all time. That's about it. 7.) The Fluctuating and Overlapping Fanbase between Star Wars and Indiana Jones fanbase: Both franchises previously owned by LucasFilm. Both had Harrison Ford in it as Han Solo and Indiana Jones (But this game was voiced by Troy Baker, in which Harrison Ford himself acknowledge how great Troy Baker to mimic his voice in the game). Both franchises had their own ups and downs. It was diagnosed with down syndrome after it was brought by Disney.
