Just a simple, cozy beekeeping game. A solid 5/10, nothing more. I enjoyed my play through somewhat, but Island Beekeeper is missing much about the life of bees and beekeepers. 1. Hunger and Thirst - There is no reason these should be in the game. Farming and fishing are an afterthought and only exist for an achievement. Recipes hardly impact your characters. If you want to introduce farming, let the bees cross-pollinate your crops and introduce automated processes. Edit: I did unlock a bee mutation that can water crops. 2. Floating Islands - Too far apart. There are better approaches to introduce a variety of different biomes into games. Currently, island traversal is just mindless travel as there's nothing to gaze upon. 3. Exploration - The floating islands have a few different ores and species of trees, flowers, fish, and bees. That's it. There is a story somewhere, but it's hidden in a really boring narrative left behind in random notes. No wildlife, no NPCs to engage other than merchant bears who sell the same seeds on rotation. 4. Lamps/Flashlight - Each day consists of Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Night and you can find your way around most of the game without much concern, but no flashlight for evening inspections or lamps inside the home is such a waste. Am i actually supposed to sleep in my in-game bed at night? 5. Builds - Building is nice, but it really doesn't matter as rain or weather elements do not affect your crafted items/stations. I mean, direct lightning strikes just push your character back. Give me a reason to enclose my builds in four walls under a roof. It is possible there is more to the game I haven't discovered, but having visited several islands and experienced much of the same, I find it hard to want to finish or even replay. Although this is categorized as cozy, this is actually quite grindy. Removing every hive frame individually, placing each frame two at a time into the honey extractor and spinning it, replacing each empty frame in the hive, traveling from island to island to harvest biome specific resources...everything just takes time and the loop is incredibly monotonous. Controller support isn't functional, but luckily the M&K controls are simple. I really wanted this to be good for a solo player, but it's sadly designated as just another mediocre friendslop game in 2026.

Relaxing island adventure!🐝🌴 I'm enjoying Island Beekeeper, especially building little homes. There's something very relaxing about creating and exploring these small islands. I'm hoping to see more content and expansions in the future, as I'd love to have even more islands to discover and build on.💚

Очень расслабляющая игра, у меня есть пасека в жизни и иногда бывает не погода ехать на пасеку, и хорошо что есть возможность здесь немного поубавить пыл и расслабиться, очень жду обновлений

Игра чисто для расслабления, не напряжная. Баги конечно присутствуют, но радует, что разработчики достаточно оперативно фиксят их

I can't even lie.... GAME OF THE YEAR. I don't say that lightly, this game perfectly balances exploration, farming, bee keeping, crafting, and so much more. THE GRAPHICS ARE INSANELY BEAUTIFUL. I looked up into the sky as the sun was setting and saw shooting stars, the amount of detail to the weather and the environment alone makes the game itself but then bring in the actual aspects of the game? PEAK. I 100% recommend buying this game if you like farming, animals and exploration. (Still Love it)

I'm really enjoying this game. It has more depth to it than i thought, but I'm really enjoying the grind of it. I do wish there was a more in depth breeding guide, so breeding is somewhat trial and error, though you can't breed bees that are incompatible. I love the farming and fishing, but I believe if you go through the trouble to catch and cook a fish, you should get more hunger restored than berries. Maybe add a vertical ladder and ladder hole flooring, different roofing patterns, etc. Simple little things like that are the only improvements I can think of.

Honestly not mush of a game here overall. I have played a ton of random bee keeping games both as the focus of the game, and sometimes just a side thing and this, while being accurate on how things can be done, does not have the spark of joy or exploration that the other had. The controls are soso, the map is an after thought, the distance between islands is just to burn time, the other islands have themes but they are fairly shallow feeling, farming is just plant seed then water and wait. Honestly a lot of the game play screams hurry up and wait, and not a fun wait, just a waiting to be seen by a doctor sort of wait. I would maybe be able to look past most of these things had this been an early access game, with intentions of polishing things for the next year or so. But as it stand now, i do not recommend, if you do try it, rush through until you get to the first next island, cause once you get to a second island you have seen just about everything this game has to offer.

VERY cozy base builder. Though not with a few bugs (no pun intended), it is an easy way to relax for a few hours at a time. Self-exploration is key since the guides are minimal, but makes for a more immersive experience since gameplay isn't otherwise difficult.
