**ABANDONED GEMSTONE, BE AWARE OF MANY BUGS, BUY IT DURING A SALE** PART 1 This is a tough review to write because initially I was gonna recommend this game, but after some consideration I decided not to. JWE3 is already out and this game has basically been abandoned by its devs, so if you plan on buying it just to try it out, get it during a sale. Boy, it has been such a beautiful journey. I know I'm writing this review late, but I bought the game when it came out when I was a teenager, and now that years have passed I decided to fully complete it and get all the DLCs so I could absorb the whole experience before moving on to JWE2 and JWE3. This has been such a wonderful game. The artwork is amazing and the gameplay is genuinely enjoyable. However, there is something I have to call out, and that is how the dev team stopped caring about their game, left it to rot, and moved on. It is so unfortunate that **Frontier Developments** did that because it honestly makes me question their loyalty to their player base. The best analogy I can give for this game is a cake that looks beautiful and tastes amazing, but the baker forgot to remove the eggshells before serving it. Just so you can have an idea of how bad the situation is, the last update was back in early 2021, and I'm writing this review in 2026. The game continues to have multiple bugs that are probably never going to be fixed. The pinned community post from the devs for reporting bugs has been locked, and the Frontier website for reporting bugs for this game looks like a graveyard with more than 400 unanswered posts from people reporting problems. Will these bugs ruin your gameplay experience? Partially, yes, but most of them are tolerable to an extent. The most annoying one has to be the game crashing on you multiple times for no damn reason. If you build too close to the edge of the map, there is also a chance that a building or wall will become impossible to delete afterward, so now you're stuck with it there, unable to interact with it and potentially ruining your park layout. The only workaround I found was resetting the island. I was fine with that glitch at first because I only had some walls stuck outside the perimeter, but then my boyfriend had the same problem and his was much worse. His monorail station became completely impossible to delete or interact with because part of the rail path glitched outside the edge of the map, and his frustration was completely valid. Ranger cars also get trapped between trees, buildings, and even dinosaurs because their AI is stupid as hell. The rest of the bugs are more mild, like all the gyrospheres getting stuck behind a single dinosaur blocking the path or dinosaur tails glitching through fences. There are also some stupid design choices, like a mission dinosaur dying on you resulting in a dead game where you have to restart the whole island. Some of the missions you get from Science, Entertainment, and Security are impossible to complete at the time you receive them because they require you to travel to another island and unlock a specific dinosaur first, so you basically have to discard those missions whenever they pop up. Oh, and you can't really do anything about tornadoes either. They can spawn right on top of your dinosaurs, destroy all the fences, and suddenly half your dinosaurs are loose in the park. The game gives you an Advanced Storm Defense Station, but the coverage area is so small that protecting everything with them is not really practical unless you want to cover your park with those things. I love my carnivores, but man, they are a pain in the ass to keep sometimes. For challenging missions you are honestly better off just having herbivores around. Carnivores require double the care. They get agitated quickly, they are more prone to escaping, you can only pair some of them with specific dinosaurs, and they need constant surveillance during storms. If you don't want to get your guests killed, you basically have to double fence their enclosures. Oh, how could I forget about the uncurable dinosaurs and instant infection spreading? When you play a challenge on a harder difficulty, you can encounter this crazy situation where a dinosaur gets sick and, if you haven't researched the cure yet, the sickness starts spreading like wildfire and your dinosaurs begin dying. If you tranquilize the sick dinosaur so you can sell it, the disease can just jump to another dinosaur, then another, and another. Even releasing a new dinosaur from the hatchery can result in it immediately coming out sick. Something else that gets annoying is that with certain dinosaurs you can't release them with the maximum genetic modification in every category because the success rate becomes way too low. For end game players, they really should have made a hatchery upgrade that lets you release dinosaurs with a 100% success rate no matter how many modifications you put on them, and maybe even skip the waiting process entirely. At that point in the game, I already did the work to unlock everything, so why am I still sitting there watching incubation attempts fail? The terrain tools also suck so much, and having buildings automatically raise or change the terrain can be incredibly annoying. The InGen Database doesn't properly tell you how to unlock its entries either, so you have to rely on external information. Most entries are easy enough to unlock naturally, but then you have others where you have absolutely no idea what you're supposed to do because the game never tells you about the very specific requirements. For example, to unlock one particular character you have to be on a specific island and let a Carnotaurus eat a guest. How the hell is the average player supposed to figure that out without looking it up? The division system has the same problem. During the missions, the game doesn't clearly show you that you can get a reward for reaching 100% reputation with a division. Then, when you're trying to unlock some of the memos, you're left completely lost trying to figure out which division on which island still needs maximum reputation. That is probably one of the reasons why the achievement "I Read Your Book" is such a pain in the ass to get. The game simply does not explain properly how to unlock certain database entries. I almost forgot to mention that some DLCs also have missing or unfinished textures that make parts of them look unpolished. For example, in Claire's Sanctuary, the Botanical Garden UI looks like it was never properly finished. Talking about the DLCs, honestly, all of them are overpriced. In my opinion you really only need two: JWE Return to Jurassic Park and JWE Secrets of Dr. Wu. The rest can look nice, but realistically you probably won't use most of their content when there are already better options available in the game. Only buy those if you can afford to burn some cash, or wait until they are heavily discounted. You know what is crazy? The most fun I had with the game was actually playing those two DLCs. They are nostalgic, the missions are well done, and I developed more of an emotional connection with the characters and what was happening. Despite everything I just complained about, I did enjoy playing this game. I absolutely love it. I got all the achievements, including some that are ridiculously complicated to get. One stupidly annoying example is Executive Treatment, where you have to eliminate every disease on Nublar North using a MANUALLY CONTROLLED RANGER TEAM. That is insane to do because I had around 65 dinosaurs running around the island that I had to deal with manually. Then you have Green Thumb, where you need to reach 1500 Paleobotany Welfare. The amount of dinosaurs I had to release on a single island just to reach that number was more than 50. Those achievements really made me question who came up with some of these requirements.

This first instalment in the jurassic world evolution games in my opinion, is VERY Good! when challenging, this game feels very rewarding! the dinosaurs look amazing and the narration can be fun. though some of the quests are silly and irritating, the game still feels like a love letter to jurassic park fans everywhere. somehow better than the second game in my opinion, I've replayed this multiple times and feel I'll keep coming back for more!

100% Complete | 198h at review JWE absolutely nails the fantasy of running your own dinosaur park. Building enclosures, breeding dinosaurs and watching everything come together feels exactly like what you'd want from a Jurassic Park management game. It looks great and fits comfortably within the franchise, making it easy to lose a few hours just building and improving your parks. The management systems are a little light compared to deeper management sims, and once you understand the core mechanics, most of the challenges become fairly straightforward. The 100% wasn't particularly difficult, but it was a little time consuming, with 198 hours on the clock, although a fair chunk of that was spent simply building things rather than chasing achievements. The building system does have some limitations, which I believe are improved in the later games, but overall this is a great place to start if you love Jurassic Park and management games.

10/10 I love this game so much I 100% it. In 131hrs of gameplay I had a few glitches - all of them being purely graphical (and sometimes hilarious), further enriching my experience with limp dinos being visually slingshot across the map. Amazing game.

Echt unterhaltsames Aufbauspiel und auch für schwächere Endgeräte super geeignet. Ich spiele es auf dem Laptop und finde es einfach gut.
