It's a Lego game; fun, charm, and satisfaction from picking up shiny thing is literally baked into its DNA. BUT, its extraordinarily easy to soft-lock yourself from getting 100%, namely in years 1-4 because of devious Flitwick and his evil hatch. DO NOT ENTER THE HATCH WITHOUT A DARK MAGIC CHARACTER, -12 hours. There are a lot of glitches in general: infinite death loops, spells sometimes not working, consistent crashing in Flitwick's classroom (what's with this guy?), etc. Their far between each other so its not too annoying, but their almost unmissable.

Aqui existe um fator nostálgico. LEGO Harry Potter foi o primeiro jogo da série que joguei, na minha infância, e completei tudo o que havia para ser completado. E agora fiz tudo novamente. Dito isso, a ambientação, principalmente Hogwarts, é simplesmente mágica. Mas o desenvolvimento tem seus altos e baixos. Existe uma certa repetição nos puzzles, que em alguns momentos passaram do ponto, e algumas fases chatinhas. Além de pouca variedade de jogabilidade entre os personagens. Mas, no geral, o saldo é positivo. Adendo: o jogo é muito mal otimizado. Já joguei outros LEGO graficamente mais bonitos que rodavam MUITO MELHOR.

Both LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 are decent lego games but this remastered collection is pretty low effort cash grab. It's called LEGO Harry Potter Collection but you don't get one whole game, you have to start each part via launcher. There are some graphical improvements (better lighting, sharper textures) but if I didn't know that I wouldn't see much difference to be honest. Harry Potter Years 1-4 feels a little dated - graphics are simple, level design is straightforward and there are some minor bugs while exploring Hogwarts Castle (brick/token detector doesn't work properly in some areas). Harry Potter Years 5-7 looks and sounds better and level design is more interesting (I had to repeat some story levels 2-3 times before I was able to find 100% collectibles). It's a shame there's no dialogues, only nods. If you didn't play legacy versions of LEGO HP you should buy it, if you did there's no point playing it again unless you're interested in achievements.

Overall * I do not know what you actually remastered but some of the glitches are from the original games and came over to this collection and has more added glitches. * To me, it looks like that you just added a launcher, achievements and a higher price. 😠 * The use of a launcher is just ridiculous and makes no sense. (at least, a way was found to stop that from loading at the start of the game, yay) * You should have just joined both games into one big game. * It doesn't matter if you play on your own or with someone else, the glitches are always there. (somehow I managed to get 201 gold bricks, lol) * The incessant clapping from Nearly Headless Nick in freeplay is horrendous. That ghost needs shutting up. Luckily I bought this game collection in an awesome cheap bundle with Hogwarts Legacy. Because I love Harry Potter so much, I will pay any amount. (If it's Harry Potter - take my money 🤣😂) I do recommend this game but the developer's could have done so much more with it..... 🤔

Years 1-4 is a decent game. Graphics are outdated and some of the puzzles, mostly the ones with big blocks you have to turn into stairs, are pretty jank, but it's fun. its a lego game, its gonna be fun. Don't buy this if you want to get past year 7. There's a shader bug, something to do with lighting, as it turns up mostly in scenes with windows or outdoors, but it covers the screen in random stretched out polygons and renders the game virtually unplayable. I was able to finish slughorn's house level bc of the ui and some of the outlines of the furniture being visible, but in the fleur and bill wedding level the screen is totally covered and theres no way to finish the level. I've tried everything to fix this bug but nothing works. Disappointing :(

The Boy Who Lived The Lego Harry Potter Collection brings both years 1-4 and years 5-7 into one tidy package, now remastered with improved graphics. For those who are seeking 100% completion, you will be required to invest quite a number of hours into the game, as there are many collectibles for you to attain. Despite this, if you are a Harry Potter fan (why would you even play this if you weren't?), it never feels like a chore and you will enjoy playing through it. Note: you will have to select what game you want to play when you load it up from a launcher. Both games are not combined in one instance. Positives + Better visuals with higher resolution textures and enhanced lighting effects that were not found in the base games. + Refined control schemes allow for smoother gameplay. + Quality of life features include quicker character swapping and streamlined menus. + Bugs from the original games have been addressed, which leads to a more stable and reliable experience overall. + Whether it be the story mode, revisiting levels through free play to pick up anything that you missed the first time round, the bonus levels, making your own level, or exploring the various locations around the wizarding world, there is plenty for you to see and explore. + The puzzles in the gameplay are never too difficult or frustrating. You will often have to switch to different characters in your party in order to progress to the next stage in a level as some will have abilities that others do not. + Given that the characters can't speak in their Lego form, they communicate through gestures or noises. This makes for some comical moments and the Harry Potter saga is retold brilliantly through its unique style of Lego humour. You can still understand what is happening completely fine. + Tons of characters from the lore for you to unlock and play as during free play or while you are out in the world. This includes the characters that were previously only available on consoles as DLC. + Able to unlock extras (game modifiers) that give you fall damage protection, stud multipliers, detectors that help you find collectibles and many more. + You're able to watch all cinematics again once you unlock them. + Achievements are now present if you care about those. The base games do not have these on PC. Negatives - I had a few crashes in some Hogwarts locations in years 4-7. The game would simply bomb me out. I'm not exactly sure what the issue was, but I might have had too many extras (game modifiers) turned on at once. I ended up resolving it. In years 5-7 I had no issues whatsoever. - I would sometimes hear a weird audio thudding sound when in Hogwarts. I'm still not sure what that was, but it would normally go away quickly. Conclusion This was my first time playing through a Lego game and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're a big Harry Potter fan, you really can't go wrong with this collection. You will be looking at a LOT of hours if you want to hit 100% in both games (I ended up at 91 hours), but it felt awesome to finally get it done and I don't regret putting the time into playing. It never felt like a chore. I will say that if you already own the two base games, you might not see much of a point in upgrading to the remaster, but if this is your first time and you're thinking of giving them a try, I'd very much recommend doing so. It's a truly magical experience.

Combining Years 1-4 and Years 5-7 into a single package gives you a massive amount of content, but honestly, having both games together turned out to be a bit too much for me. Binging them back-to-back quickly leads to brick-building burnout since the gameplay loop stays largely identical throughout. If you are a completionist going for the Platinum trophy (or 100% achievements), it's a solid 3/10 on the difficulty scale. It isn't hard at all, just a bit of a repetitive grind to collect every single gold brick, character token, and True Wizard rank across both titles. Great nostagia hit for Harry Potter fans, but best played in short bursts.

Literally only bought this because everyone was saying it actually has proper mouse support unlike the individual games and what do you know? It doesn't.
