An excellent big puzzle game that feels like what Blue Prince, but without the annoying and pointless randomness. Every puzzle is hand-placed, requires almost zero outside knowledge, most of the times confined to the immediate area and usually has multiple hints somewhere on how to progress. Because it's made so well, I never had to look up anything to complete it fully (just forgot to spend money before ending or I would have had 100% on the first playthrough). The puzzles are clever and varied and reward you for keeping a pen and paper by your side to note down information. I used up two A4 sheets from both sides by the end, and it felt great using them. If I had to point out a small flaw is that on two accounts I encountered difficulties progressing not because the puzzles were difficult, but because I didn't notice a small part of the minimalistic UI. One of them was not noticing that a document had multiple pages that I could scroll through and the other was not noticing that I could interact with an object so I had to draw it myself on a piece of paper. Definitely a big recommend to any lovers of big puzzle games.

- 약간의 호러와 몽환적 스토리가 가미된 퍼즐 게임. 스토리 이해가 힘든데다가, 호텔 구조의 복잡성, 어두침침한 분위기와 심플한 만큼 약간의 불편한 조작방식(오직 방향키와 스페이스바만을 사용)으로 호불호가 갈릴 수 있지만, 이렇게 차분하고 정제된 세련미의 매혹적인 게임이 흔치는 않은지라 개인적으로 정말 즐겁게 플레이 했습니다. - 두뇌를 자극해주는, 평균치 난이도를 적당히 오르락 내리락 하는 퍼즐들의 향연. 하나를 풀면 다른 퍼즐들이 또 무수한 가지처럼 뻗어나오고, 고개만 돌리면 퍼즐이 존재하는, 퍼즐의 굴레였습니다. 주어지는 퍼즐이 너무 많아 부담을 느낄 수는 있겠지만 차근차근히 하나씩 풀다보면 하나하나 해결해 나가는 그 쾌감에 그만 둘 수 없게 되는 흡입력이 있어요. 퍼즐로 유명한 타 게임의 주인공 레O튼 교수님이 와서 묵어보시면 별점 5점을 주실 호텔입니다. 퍼즐 자체는 당장의 주위 힌트만으로도 알기 쉬운 직관적인 문제부터, 이제까지 얻은 다양한 자료를 살펴봐야 비로소 해답이 보이는 퍼즐까지 정말 다양한 난이도의 퍼즐이 있고, 참신하다 싶은 것도 있으면서 난해한 퍼즐도 있었어요. 퍼즐이 아무리 어려워 보이더라도 힌트가 다 착실하게 주어지는 편이어서, 퍼즐 풀이의 즐거움을 위해 최대한 웹 검색을 통한 힌트는 보지 않으시는 걸 추천드려요. 저의 경우 진행이 어떻게 될지 궁금한 마음에 참을성 없이 힌트를 찾아본 게 꽤 되는데, 어렵긴 해도 결국 알고 보면 다 스스로 해결할만한 퍼즐들이더라고요. (그리고 힌트를 본 것을 무척이나 후회했죠..) - 스토리조차 하나의 커다란 퍼즐과도 같은 스토리는 꼼꼼히 게임을 플레이 하면서 자료들을 여러번 읽었음에도 솔직히 완벽히 다 이해를 하지는 못 했습니다. 아마 플레이 방식에 따라, 어떤 플레이어 분들에게는 대체 뭐가 뭔지 싶은 스토리로 끝날 수도 있을 것 같고요. 주어지는 자료들을 짜맞춰야 스토리가 좀 이해가 될똥말똥이었는데, 아마 게임의 큰 스토리조차 하나의 커다란 퍼즐 형식으로 만들어, 플레이어들이 자료들을 스스로 찾아 이어가면서 파악해 가도록 만든 것 같습니다. 이야기의 어떤 부분들은 퍼즐 조각이 비어 있는 채로 끝나게 되는데, 이는 또한 스토리를 완벽한 하나의 퍼즐로 만들기 보다도, 플레이어들이 이어지지 않는 부분을 그들의 상상으로 메우는 열린 결말 형식으로 남겨둔 것 같더라고요. 모든 게 확실히 밝혀지지는 않는 어긋난 조각과 빠진 구멍이 군데군데 존재하는 불완전한 직소퍼즐과 같은 스토리인 만큼 누군가에게는 이게 단점으로 다가올 수 있겠지만, 또 어느 누군가에게는 그 나름의 매력과 여운으로 오랫동안 기억에 남을 것 같습니다. 어두운 분위기와 몽환적인 느낌을 정말 좋아하는지라 간만에 취향 저격의 게임을 하게 되어 정말 행복했습니다. 사실 가벼운 계기로 시작했던 게임이었는데 인생 게임으로 등극하게 될 줄은 몰랐네요. 개인적으로 오브라 딘 호와 더불어 거의 탑급의 퍼즐 게임이었어요. 이렇게 잔향이 진한 에스프레소 같은 게임을 또 어디서 만나볼 수 있을지... 후속작 가능성은 없어보이지만, 비슷한 분위기, 컨셉의 게임이 또 나오기를 진심으로 바라봅니다.

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes was exactly the puzzle game I was looking for, filling an old manor with logic, pattern recognition, and mathematical puzzles to tease the brain while also having an intriguing setting and story play out. The difficulty and complexity of the puzzles perfectly mirrored the increasing intensity and momentum of the story that I felt very satisfied by the end. Graphically, the game did something that I had not seen before and thought was it was well done, sort of mixing media between the different eras of video game graphics and stuff like film grain, photography, and CRT monitor scanlines. The greater hat trick of the game was tying these artistic choices to the themes of the story and having puzzles convey critical story information in intriguing ways, making Lorelei and the Laser Eyes a complete, cohesive game and artistic experience. Bravo.

it's been a while since i've last played this game, but i still hold it near and dear ...! the loop of hitting a roadblock, becoming lost, finding a key piece of information, and opening the roadblock was incredibly satisfying, and i really like the sound design and art direction ... all the little mechanisms clicking and spinning, a latch coming undone when you enter the correct combination, it's real good gameplay and art aside, though, i became a little bit Sick in the Head after completing the game. i cannot say much about the story, but i will say it is haunting and wonderful and it turned me into more of an art freak

Spooky! Sometimes makes you feel smart and sometimes kinda dumb! I loved this game, loved the atmosphere and the puzzles were extremely well-done and thoughtful. I had to look stuff up a few times but never thought "ah, I never would have gotten that otherwise"

This is one of best puzzle games I've ever played. The puzzles are diverse and challenging, yet you are given all the information you need to solve them. I definitely do recommend playing it.
