This DLC just ain't that fun. You're doing the same thing as in the base game, except this time you are a whole lot weaker with a far worse bow removing your time now aiming and all the quests are just obnoxious. The base game had some annoying quests to be sure, but this just feels like ever missing is super mid. I finished the base game raring to do all the achievements, did the hunter DLC which was alright, but this one has killed that want entirely.

The concept seems great. It's cool to see some backstory of the main game, but...it felt too repetitive from the main game, and the clunkiness was on full display. It feels like they've patched the main game to be better, but ignored the DLC. Either that, or another team handled the DLC and were super rushed. It feels very familiar to the main game, but in a way that makes it feel flat- same world, very similar mechanics, but trimmed-down, which already makes it feel less epic even though you have THE ONE RING. Plus the game is mostly just waves of enemies with too many unskippable cutscenes that drag on and on. It was just rage-inducing tedium compared to the main game. You end up with armies of captains under your control and any time one dies, you are forced to watch a slow death scene and listen to their monologue, which ruins any combat flow. I'm not sure I'll finish, even though I hear the final fight is pretty epic

I hated playing just about every single part of this DLC, it was interesting for the story but other than that it was a slog to go through and I resented it with a burning hatred.
