Because the servers were shut down, the game gets stuck after the intro and is unplayable unless you take the time to search for a fix. I’ve already done that, so here’s the solution to save you the trouble: Open: C:\ProgramData\Electronic Arts\EA Services\License\ If 1026480.dlf is there, move it somewhere else temporarily. Do not delete it. If you already deleted the file, go to Steam - Properties - Installed Files - Verify integrity of game files. Steam should restore it. Next, open Windows Firewall and create an outbound rule that blocks MirrorsEdgeCatalyst.exe from connecting to the internet. Launch the game through Steam. Once you can control Faith, you can remove the firewall rule and move 1026480.dlf back to its original folder. After doing this, the game runs fine for me and I can unlock Steam achievements again. The two online achievements may still require the Beat Revival Project.

with the current 95% sale, Valve fixed whatever EA broke in proton/steamdeck with this game (responding to all the recent negative reviews). runs as is without changing any compatibility settings or launch options. this, core gameplay and the city layout are the reasons i am leaving a thumb up. the story, characters, writing and skill tree are kinda bad, so only play this if you are a fan of the orig game. this is def a downgrade, but it's better than nothing. not for the full price though. still no multiplayer

**Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Review** Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is an incredible first-person parkour experience that makes you feel like you’re actually running across the rooftops of a futuristic city. The movement system is smooth, the sense of speed is fantastic, and chaining together wall runs, slides, jumps, and vaults feels incredibly satisfying once you master the mechanics. The city of Glass looks beautiful, with its minimalist architecture, bright white buildings, and striking red accents. The atmosphere and soundtrack complement the gameplay perfectly, creating an immersive experience unlike most other games. The story and combat aren't the strongest aspects of the game, and some missions can become repetitive. However, the freedom of movement and the unique gameplay make up for these shortcomings. If you enjoy parkour, speed, exploration, and stylish first-person gameplay, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is absolutely worth experiencing. Endless loading screen because EA’s servers are offline, and the game apparently can’t verify its DRM without them. Can’t even get into the game I paid for. A single-player game being effectively unplayable because a server-side DRM check is unavailable is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ridiculous. Avoid this until EA fixes the server dependency—or better yet, removes it.

Imagine buying a bag of chips, and realizing the bag is empty.. that empty bag of chips is this game. I saw the sale, and went "Ooh mirror's edge some nostalgia", i bought it, and you cant even play it... How tf do you sell a game that you cant play because you shut down the servers? like what drugs are you on??????????

I understand that network features have been discontinued, but this shouldn't break the main game itself. Selling a game in this broken state is an absolute disgrace. You literally have to bend over backwards and fiddle with workarounds just to bypass the server connection screen. Visually, the game looks absolutely gorgeous. The combat mechanics are a bit quirky at first, but you get used to them after a while. I highly recommend trying this parkour experience, but ONLY if you are ready to deal with technical issues. Currently, there are two ways to actually play the game: 1. The easy way: Switch your launcher (EA App) to Offline Mode. (Achievements will NOT work). 2. The proper way: Set up a local server to restore achievements and online features.
