The solo campaign is not even the meat of this server even though there are hours of content for those that like the nostalgic gameplay. The beamdog servers are what truly makes this game an incredible masterpiece! I am still playing this in 2026 and have been playing on Ravenloft, Arelith and Haze since 2022. Haze is very special, and by far my favorite. The DM's are active, the server is persistent, and it is sandbox where you can truly build whatever world you want. They have a builders team and an admin team that keeps everything going 24/7. They have a website and discord to stay active and interact with the community. Haze is hardcore, permadeath server, where the odds are against you but if you have a strong will and determination, and love for storytelling, lore, and RP you can achieve anything. I give this game a 10/10 and would love to see more games like this where the players make the world. If you are tired of the typical sandbox servers and theme box MMO's then this may be the place for you. I am truly addicted and I appreciate the work and love they put into their servers on Beamdog.

I only have about an hour and a half logged on this version because I’ve already put around 100 hours into the GOG version. I mostly bought it here to support the devs. Absolutely amazing game and RPG—one of, if not the best, Beamdog games out there.

So now that I have over 1000 Hours of fun into this game I say it is worth buying. If you love dungeons and dragons type games, loved Baldur's Gate 1, 2 or even 3 I say get this little gem. It was the foundation of great RPG's that came after. The main campaign is not bad but its the expansions, further adventure modules and community made modules that massively increase the play time for this game. I played this back when it first came out back in 2002 and it was peak Bioware story telling. (Sadly Bioware is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a company now RIP) In my opinion the community modules you want to download and play with this game are: Aielund Saga, GLadiatrix (All chapters) Dance with Rogues, Saleron's Gambit (All chapters) , Swordflight (All chapters), Enigma Island and thats the ones I can recall - theres lots!

The real Baldurs Gate 3. I really like how back in 2002 they had the clothing, hair and grass physics. It would have been better if the capes and corpses had physics too of course. Even many modern games don't even have hair and clothes physics. This increases the immersion in any game so much. Right now I am doing the main story on normal as a paladin and its been a learning curve (being a non-DND guru) but still quite fun. So far the story is alright. Most people keep saying the main quest is bad. I am almost done with chapter 1 and it seems fine to me. I am using a couple mods, like UI reborn to make it darker and bigger. Then the loot mod, but I turn everything off except the lootable bodies. Having the bodies not disappear instantly is mandatory in this game. (The gore mod lets the blood stay for a couple minutes too.) Such a bummer killing a whole room of enemies and you turn around and its completely empty and spotless. Without the loot mod keeping the bodies I probably wouldnt still be playing. It would be nice to permanently turn off the fog too instead of having to re-input the command in every area. You can turn up the grass view distance in the .ini too which helps make the game look better, Since the slider in the menu doesnt work for some reason. If the game remains as good as it is now I will probably have a couple 100 hours in it before I do all the main content which is amazing. Then all the mods. Too many games standard playtime is around 8 hours only.

I know it's maybe to big for some ppl, but for me it is the scecond best DnD game after BG3 :)

It has that addictive quality that kicks in when your character levels up a couple times. I can see why this is considered a classic!
