This is Oddworld Abe's Oddysee with a fresh coat of paint more or less The original Abe's Oddysee had 2D sprites with pre-rendered backgrounds, whereas New N Tasty is obviously all 3D modelled. New N Tasty also has continuous screen scrolling as opposed to Oddysee's square segmented level layouts. There's now continuous movement as opposed to the almost grid limited positions of movement of the original game(Not to imply the original movement mechanics for the original are bad) If you know the original like the back of your hand, then you know what to expect with the level layouts and can breeze through it The OST for New N Tasty is entirely redone and expanded from the original Abe's Oddysee OST. It is still dynamic, changing based on statuses like controlling an enemy via possession or being pursued by sligs/scrabs/paramites. The darker grittiness and color palette of the original has been brightened, most especially for Rupture Farms. Other areas of the game are much closer to the original color and look more or less. The art style is largely in-tact otherwise including perhaps one of the most important things: the sense of scale.

It was as if I had gone back to my childhood and experienced the most wonderful feelings of nostalgia and joy. Thank you for these wonderful feelings. It's a great game for relaxing and unwinding.

10 years later i finally come back to play this game to continue where i left off in my Oddworld 100% marathon, and coming back i do not remember the remake being like this I feel like the aura of the original has been lost with a piss filter and bloom attached to it and it is incredibly bright for a game that's in a very dark setting, Abe's animations looks sluggish when he runs in the first cutscene to the delivery of his lines not being as good Controlling Abe in this is like a snails pace, there is no crazy movement tech in this one and you are very slow why in the original you were zooming if you knew your way around, and i hate the camera angles, why on gods name did they do this, just keep it a still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ camera, we don't need this weird cinematic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because half the time i miss jumps and get timing incredibly wrong because the angle is screwed. And i will say again i do not remember this game being like this, it's like it suddenly changed also controller for steam is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, you have to bind everything which is annoying because half the buttons don't work My only gripe with this game is i get they want a 1 to 1 remake but i would've loved extended cutscenes like the new ones did, they did not need to rush it like how the PS1 did, like they aren't limited at all just make them longer or do something new I like the game though and kinda wish it wasn't made in 2015 and they could've done more with this 9/10 - Quick save, Load Quick save? go to menu, load quicksave? press it, are you sure you want to load the quicksave? MF YES

Aunque se siente distinto en cuanto a jugabilidad del original, destila la misma esencia. Recomiendo pillarlo si el original te ha gustado y quieres volver a experimentar el mundo de Abe con un lavado de cara.

I give this game a 8.5 out of 10. It loses 1 point for that HORRENDOUS DOUBLE MEAT GRINDER section in one of the secret mudokon areas with the three paramites. After rescuing all of the mudokons in that room and dealing with the paramites, I have never died so many times in a single area in all of the game than this one because of those grinders. I'm also docking it another .3 points for the slight damper in control, though it did get better once I enabled "Button to Run" and "Sideway Hop" so I had more control over Abe's movements instead of him sliding into a mine and dying. Another .2 points for some graphical bugs. Nothing detrimental that would prevent me from beating it, but noticeable.

Не смотря на множество отличных идей, самобытный сеттинг, плотную подачу и дух 90-х — всё же это полнейшее душнилово. Прошёл как смог. Помер Эйбс — ну и хер забейс.

I still prefer the original Abe's Oddysee, but New'N'Tasty ain't bad. It's kinda refreshing.
